the prospect (GET IT) of trading Garza is so exciting. I think I said this before, maybe in this thread, but if the team is going to be bad, i want about 100 prospects to follow. It might as well be a baseball mogul season.
this is sort of off the tangent, but i really want cespedes and soler. hell, i'd consider the offseason a massive success if we got both and didn't get fielder.
It's really cool thinking of what we've learned as fans in the last decade. i remember joining this site only because i really liked the idea of a building a deep farm system and cubs.com was opposed to that idea for some ungodly reason. I only knew about batting average and RBIs. Three years ago I considered myself a smart fan, but i never would have properly valued the worth of these cost-controlled years.
This trade is pretty encouraging. It kind of sucks for us in the short term, but I can totally get behind a total video game rebuild like I would do on OOTP or something. I WANT YOUR MINOR LEAGUERS, ALL OF THEM
So are we assuming now that Theo and Jed have decided to just rehaul the whole [expletive] thing? If they're going to trade Garza, I think we should do it before Fielder signs with someone.
you should; with all these groan-worthy dumb ass comparisons being lazily thrown around, he actually profiles really well to be another Dee Gordon (if you like that kind of thing [i do]) lol when i was looking at his BBR page, i was looking at his walks and thinking they were his steals totals. something about a 53/20 ratio of sb/cs wasnt catching my eye.
I read a Detroit guy saying that in his opinion, Rip vince cartered the pistons once dumars started running things into the ground. It would be hilarious (and scary for the league) if rip had a lot more gas than everyone thought.
