  1. Nice 56 point first half for the Bulls.
  2. Thunder up 70-47 at the half over NYK. This is the best this offense has played in the OKC era
  3. VERY EDGY
  4. "Yeah, honey, Theo gave it to me. No, I don't know what it's for. It looks like a big ipod. what the hell is angry birds? OOOH THIS LOOKS NEAT."
  5. How about this scenario: The Cubs sign Fielder for, say, 6/120. Rizzo spends 2012 and 2013 tearing up AAA - he has been good but not great during his non-PCL minor league career - and developing "the Cubs Way." We play Prince for his age 28 and 29 seasons and then, after hopefully a couple great offensive seasons, we trade Prince and get terrific value for him, since teams would only be committing 4 years to him. We then bring Rizzo up to start the 2014 season and have a really good prospect haul from the Prince deal. At the same time, adding Prince allows us the possibility of contending in the short term (maybe as soon as 2012 if we get some breaks). An NTC would complicate things, but that may well be part of Theo's terms for signing him - we refuse to give an NTC. Probably not a likely scenario, but it would jive with the "asset collection" Theo and Jed have stated they're in. The only way rizzo spends 3 full seasons in AAA is if he sucks.
  6. i think you mean "they're"

  8. I'll agree with you on one aspect of what you're saying. It's a team sport. That's why its really hard to reliably judge players based on stats. But since there's only 5 guys on the floor at once, its also pretty damn reasonable to judge a lot based on wins. It's funny that stats guys who feel Rose is so overrated will point to how good a supporting cast he has. Deng, Noah, Boozer, Taj. Yet LeBron's supporting cast of two other top 10 stats players and a handful of very solid role players including Chalmers, Miller, Anthony, Haslem, etc. is just horrible. That's what's laughable. To me, its missing the forest through the trees. the very fact that you call mike miller and joel anthony "very solid role players" lets me know that you're not ready.
  9. i think we should probably stop caring so much about impact "hitters" and focus more on guys who are impact players.
  10. It's because the nba is more about proper fit than any other sport.
  11. Frustratingly successful sums up the Westbrook experience. Rose is capable of more than Westbrook and is more aesthetically pleasing, but their end results are in the same ballpark. This is totally off topic from the bulls thread, but like I said, our roles have changed. Watch how durant plays now, whipping no look passes and bounce pass entries. And like I said, Westbrook is off the ball when he's on the court with harden (the right move.) at this point, I'm chalking up westbrooks first 7 games to pressure from playoff criticism+adjustment period. I'm betting it evens out.
  12. You apparently haven't followed the thunder very well, because that's the exact problem our starting five faces. Durant can get his shot and so can Westbrook, but otherwise you're passing to ibaka who just fumbles it out of bounds, thabo (lol) or Perkins (double lol). His assists are down because 1.) he likes to shoot 2.) durant is facilitating more when the two of them are on the court and 3.) he plays off the ball when harden is on the court. He was top 5-10 in the nba in assists last year. I get frustrated sometimes with his decision making, but I'm sure if the gameplan called for him to assist more, he would. I'd actually rather he did, because our offense gets so stale, but I'm not calling our "plays" (hope durant is single-covered)
  13. If you haven't poorly attempted to shift your baseless, inaccurate "point" in the next 10 minutes, I'll probably go to sleep.
  14. And what does Westbrook's better than average start have to do with my criticism of Derrick rose and his overrated status? I do plenty of Westbrook criticizing when appropriate.
  15. is that a serious question? the only other pg on the roster is rookie reggie jackson, of course westbrook is helping more than he's hurting. would you rather have derrick rose or john lucas
  16. 45% 60% 38.5% 50% 50% I think you're struggling with counting
  17. last 5 games 21 ppg 5.4 apg 3.8rpg on 49% from the field OH GOD SOMEONE WIPE AWAY THE NIGHTMARE And I'm sure Durant appreciates those five touches a game Westbrook gives him. last year westbrook to durant totaled the highest number of assists in the league. that's two strikes.
  18. "wait a minute ... this thing is a willard!!" Since it's my last name, I feel obliged to ask what a willard is. if i put it in spoilers then i can pretend im not explaining the joke
  19. last 5 games 21 ppg 5.4 apg 3.8rpg on 49% from the field OH GOD SOMEONE WIPE AWAY THE NIGHTMARE
  20. hey, i invented being hyper critical of derrick rose
  21. is van gundy talking about scalabrine? hahahahhaha
  22. rose apparently can scratch "improof tree pont shot" off his offseason to-do list
  23. Rose under 30% for the game, it's Lucas III time
  24. better put john lucas in before the celtics get any closer
  25. Noah got that hairstyle from the same pinterest link that my girlfriend did
