  1. Probably wouldn't happen, but it does make some sense to all involved. I would imagine Heyward's NTC might get in the way. It would look nice with Price in our rotation. this is exactly who the first response to a complicated three-way trade should be from
  2. i forgot how much i hated this nerd lol he blocked me on twitter
  3. bulls with *squints at screen* 7 first quarter points tonight in OKC
  4. I don't know where you get Schwarber being near 4 WAR because baseball reference has him at 0 for 2017 and 1.1 for his career. I agree that Almora can be a 3+ CF. You might be right about Happ being a 2-3 player and being as good as it gets. I just don't understand posters willing to be patient with the youth offensive flaws of Russell, Schwarber, etc., but aren't willing to see what Happ can do. The potential of a 30+ HR, switch-hitting, fast, versatile 23year old is not something to quickly dismiss. Fangraphs has him at 1.8 wins in just 69 games in 2015. That is nice. Expand that to 150 games and that's 3.9 win pace. Last year was just 1.5 but was a year after missing the entire season with an injury, was still his first full season and he was demoted for multiple weeks and when he came back up was basically a platoon bat. This is supposed to make us feel .... better .... about Schwarber?
  5. http://i.imgur.com/SfpQt.gif its all fun and games until the dodgers trade joc pederson and some trash A-ball guys for stanton in late january.
  6. its a notorious big lyric but he's got one too many stars in there to get away with that
  7. why are we trading Happ for a broken expensive reliever, Iglesias and an non-prospect
  8. they should sign him to a one-day deal so he can retire a cub
  9. lmaooooooooooooooooooooooo wait so his brother (the murderer) was the guy who logged on to say his brother got killed? Yeah he logged onto the account and said there had been a break-in and his mom and brother had been killed and he and his dad had been wounded but survived. This was like ... 2002ish I think. We all kind of knew the brother a little bit too because he would at times log onto the account and play. You'd send a message to the guy and he'd be like "oh it's not kevin it's blake, what's up."
  10. well, my brother called me at my grandparents' house and was like what the hell is going on? I put so little thought into it before I did it that I didn't even know what he was talking about. I basically just owned up to it and said "hey guys im dumb." The funniest part was there were all these memorials people had left. I remember one guy wrote (before knowing i was a lying dumbass, of course) that it was especially tragic because I died on the way to help my grandparents and that it was something I would do because I was always so helpful. I was like what the hell is this guy taking about. A few years later it happened again to someone else. A guy posted that he had logged into his brother's account so he could tell us that his brother had been murdered in a home invasion. Everyone was a little boy who cried wolf about it, but turns out the kid really got killed by his dad or something. I think it was an insurance scheme thing. Edit I found the story, damn. It was his brother. http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=7470379&page=1
  11. All of the old Cubs.com people, remember that guy that faked his death by pretending to be his own brother going online to say goodbye after he had drowned in a boating accident? Then he showed up a couple months later to say it was research for a paper he was writing for a psychology class. Good times. didn't imb do something similar to this as a joke? i remember somebody on here telling a story just like that Yep. It was the same forum that I mentioned in a post up above. This was far enough back that I had dial-up internet. I was going to my grandparents for a weekend (who didn't have internet) and I posted something as my brother, saying that I had been hit by someone who ran a red light and died on my way there. I had no end game, I just was like "I wonder what they'll say." I get to my grandparents' house and my brother eventually calls. Somehow these people had tracked his email down and were trying to send flowers to the funeral lol.
  12. in a year when every god damn person on the planet hit 30 home runs how did he not get a power spike
  13. No Sex Dex
  14. Well yeah, Theo is cutthroat. They'll have third, fourth, fifth parties, speaking to him, paying him in bitcoins, whatever it horsefeathering takes, to get his extension happening immediately. We're all going to feel awful when we find out Theo has been using Lurie Children's Hospital via Rizzo as a front for smuggling money to Otani. I️ will not feel awful
  15. There is 0 chance he picks the cubs. Come on.
  16. Waaaaaay back in the day I played this online game and met a guy through it from some other state that loved to just chat about sports and [expletive] with me. This goes on for a long time and then suddenly he disappears. Turns out he had convinced a woman that played with us to leave her husband and move across the country to be with him. When the lady got to his house, it turned out "he" was a 40-something woman.
  17. please get brian an account asap
  18. julie dicaro horsefeathering sucks, wow

  22. I think he was a bellhop. But he was just biding his time until joining the Peace Corps or becoming assistant AD at some school his mom worked at in South Carolina. But the heart just couldn't say no to an opportunity like Williston, ND. the peace corp thing was amazing, i forgot about that. the guy who throws a tantrum about chilli and the super bowl and has a nacho cheese dispenser in his apartment is gonna go help impoverished children. ok. they're gonna love the pillow gifts, dawg
  23. Yeah what the hell. I would almost say that it's impossible for someone who did the things this person is accused of to be legitimately sorry.
