  1. Apparently Kosuke not healthy again. That's slightly annoying. I expect Carlos Lee to have at least 6 RBI tonight.
  2. According to the name of the award, its not Best player, its most valuable. I'm fairly certain the Bulls would be worse without Rose than the Heat would be without LeBron. Dwight Howard has a legitimate argument, but I find it hard to give an MVP award to a guy who does absolutely nothing during crunch time.
  3. It's amazing how Quade can say all of the right things yet manage his pitching staff in a terrible manner.
  4. LOL Red Sox. Theo is a great GM, but the John Lackey experience is almost as bad of a contract as Soriano or Zito, albeit fewer years. That guy sucks balls. What are the terms? I didn't realize his contract was that level of awful. 5 years, 82.5 million. That's terrible. I didn't even know it was that bad when I made the comment. I thought it was 5/70. 5/82.5 is egregious.

  6. Not so fast my friend. Cal raised enough money to keep baseball. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=6309075
  7. I audibly gasped when I read this. God dammit I'm no doctor, but isn't every strain actually a small tear?
  8. Sam Fuld is OPSing 1.127 and has 4 steals as of the 3rd inning of today's game vs. the White Sox. Let the haunting begin...
  9. DePaul gets a verbal from 2013 4* Billy Garrett, Jr. Currently #61 in the nation. Huge get, although since his dad is a DePaul assistant, it would have been an even bigger loss. Maybe things are starting to turn the corner into mediocrity in Lincoln Park...
  10. I'm pretty sure no one is starting tomorrow.
  11. And here comes your ballgame. Come on Tyler and Fonzie!
  12. Is this a rhetorical question, or do you really not know? I'd like the physics behind it. Or a simple "because Blake DeWitt isn't good at baseball" would suffice.
  13. How do you foul out to 1st on a 2-0 count?
  14. To clarify, 9 of the 14 hits Dempster has allowed this year have gone for extra bases. Aside from that, he's actually been moderately effective. If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. You're missing the point, his BABIP is normal, he's getting strikeouts, his K/BB ratio is good, just everything is being hit hard. Results are out of whack with the peripherals. Still, not a good sign that he's leaving several pitches in very hittable areas. That original sentence sounded like Wanny after a bad Bears game. "Besides those 3 50 yard touchdowns we gave up, I think the defense played well."

  16. It seems like Dempster is about as good as it gets with the sacrifice bunts. Is there any way to check that?
  17. Good. That's what the Ricketts get for setting 1,000 pricing tiers, not generating much excitement, and having a generally crappy team. As fans, let's hope this doesn't bite us in the ass when they cry poor and don't sign Pujols. QFT. If they showed any commitment to building the triangle building or funding any substantial repairs at Wrigley with their own money, people may be more interested. Instead, they thought they had the golden goose and could do anything they want and keep raking in the money and still ask the government to pay for the repairs. It's not the fans fault they overpaid for a bad team with a ton of bad contracts and an outdated stadium.

  19. Where's this coming from? Heard nothing about Wells anywhere.
  20. I would assume to get the pitcher's spot in the order as far away as possible due to having no one left in the bullpen. If its for defense, one of us might have to pull a Tonya Harding on Quade because Fuku is better on D, especially in RF.
  21. Russel is still pitching. If Cashner is OK and the Cubs win, this will be one hell of a lesson for Quade as far as roster management goes: 1. Try to avoid being caught without Marmol and Wood on the same day. 2. If you are, make sure you aren't working with a short bench also (i.e. starting Koyie Hill and being unable to bring Soto in as a PH) 3. Jeff Samardzija sucks.
  22. Grabow is available and dare i say it, has not looked too bad so far. Yeah, but that just leaves Marshall available for the 9th and beyond. This is especially bad because you had to know that Cashner would require more bullpen usage than our other starters. Again, hope he learns from it. Yeah, if Quade has any semblance of a brain, he has to realize that Grabow is now his emergency guy for this game. If it goes extras, we are screwed.
  23. Ya, he sucks. The Dbacks are in for a long season.
