  1. High but realistic. Ask Nebraska how thinking they are something they're not is working out for them? No one would touch that job after they canned a 9-4 coach so they settled for Howdy Doody and now they suck.
  2. Perriloux was dismissed from the program. Harris sucks and Jennings is HIS backup (that should tell you something). Mettenberger was a transfer from Georgia. Randall never took a single snap at LSU before transferring. Shepard was moved to WR. Jefferson was hit or miss and barely played by the end of his career. Lee was also essentially a bust. I don't think the issue is that he can't get highly ranked QB's, it's just that they generally don't pan out, which could be his inability to coach them up or could be he just isn't good at evaluating which highly ranked QB's are overrated. He has never recruited a QB that was a multi-year consistently good QB at LSU. Fair enough and obviously most of those guys didn't pan out, but it's not that he's whiffing on recruiting, its that the development isn't there and/or the rankings are wrong. Either way, the guy's average year is 10-3 in one of the hardest divisions in college football. Besides money and a good recruiting base, why would anyone want that job with those expectations?
  3. Why? They spent the 80's and 90's losing 5-6 games almost every year. They lost 3 or more in 4 of Saban's 5 seasons. In 111 seasons they've averaged 3.5 losses per season. History is irrelevant in the "what have you done for me lately" society we live in. From what I can gather from being around a decent number of serious LSU fans, their dislike of Les comes down to two things: 1) He can't beat Saban consistently, and 2) He can't recruit super stud QB's. From my vantage point, I think they should consider themselves lucky that they have a coach who has averaged 10 wins a year for 10 years in a row while playing in a difficult division. These people are morons. Didn't he recruit Ryan Perriloux? Brandon Harris was a 4*, Jennings was a 4*, Mettenberger was a 4*, Randall was a 4*. Zach Lee was a 4* before the Dodgers gave him F.U. money, Russell Shepherd was supposed to be awesome (what the hell happened to him?), Jordan Jefferson was probably a 4*, so was Jarrett Lee. The recruiting isn't an issue, maybe could argue the coaching. Still, 10-3 should be a fine season for basically any program. To average that over 11 years anywhere not named Alabama or Notre Dame should get you a statue and a lifetime contract.
  4. gondeee ‏@gondeee Braves may not be done trading fan favs. Sources I have close to team tell me Atlanta has talked with other teams about Freeman & Teheran. Baez and lower level arm for Teheran and Maybin, who says no?
  5. Is the QO like the Franchise Tag in Football where you can (reasonably) only do it once? I know the Franchise thing you can do it more, but the number becomes so astronomical that it doesn't really make sense.
  6. When we got Tommy Hunter, I thought it was Tommy Hanson and was briefly intrigued. Anyone dying this young sucks.
  7. Too bad Memphis lost as Gameday could have chosen to head to Houston.
  8. http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--2vEQBuAU--/1507060947836357156.jpg
  9. Big Shot Oh yeah! Kevin Conolly's narration is grating, but that story is [expletive] AMAZING. I was in a hotel room, just looking for some mindless nonsense tv, and caught like 15min of the middle of that at like 1am...and I was too tired to stay awake for it, but first thing I did when I got home was find it on Netflix. Just a ridiculously entertaining story. Can you imagine how huge that story would be if it'd happened in the internet age? They also did one about the Gretzky trade to LA
  10. 1. MJ winning shot in 98 2. Kane winner in 2010 3. Paxson winning shot in 93 4. 17 seconds (counts as 1 in my book) 5. Kerr winning shot in 97 6. Hester return in SB 7. Sosa HR Game 1 NLCS 8. Aramis GS in Game 4 NLCS 9. Wood 20th K 10. Schwarbomb vs. Cards in NLDS Basketball, Baseball, and OT Hockey lend themselves to more of these moments than football where there are rarely game-winning last second touchdowns in important games due to the length of time required for a length of the field drive. Even though a winning FG is cool, it's not nearly as exciting. The Hester return was unbelievable, though, especially the camera shot of him watching himself on the jumbotron reflected on his helmet visor.
  11. At those numbers, Samardzija and Fowler look very attractive.
  12. Carr unless weather will be an issue. All 3 are pretty good choices though. Great matchups for all of them.
  13. Or worse, they'll win 95 games when the Mets take a step back and the rest of their division fights to break 70 wins. And then they'll blow a lead in the playoffs again and it will be glorious. Eliminating Dusty in the playoffs just became a new dream of mine. Being eliminated by Dusty in the playoffs just became a trigger to become a homicidal maniac.
  14. How many Cubs fans are going to drop dead if the Cubs have to go twice to get it done like the Royals? If the first one ends losing by 1 run in a Game 7 vs. a pitcher pulling a superhuman effort with the tying run 90 feet away? Plenty. Thousands? Millions? If we get our asses handed to us like we did vs. the Mets this year? Not many.
  15. He actually hasn't been removed yet as they are still waiting to demolish a wall for him to exit from. No need. He can just do it himself like his idol: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1820419-this-gif-of-andy-reid-as-the-kool-aid-guy-is-entrancing
  16. The past 5 days have been fuel for a LOT of doom boners.
  17. I hope Saad's enjoying being super duper rich instead of just super rich. Living in Columbus dealing with Torts. LOL.
  18. Soler back in the lineup per Maddon on 670 just now. Admits there's a cold weather issue with Soler, but isn't worried about it long term and that he can adjust. Points out he's never really had too many early season at bats and needs to get used to it overall. Also wanted to get Coghlan in vs. Syndergaard and pointed out Cogs almost hit a HR. Prepared to be donged into submission, deGrom!
  19. A 2-2 series with Lester vs. Colon/Niese isn't out of the realm of possibility. Let's f'in do this.
  20. DeGrom gave up a HR to Jonathan Herrera this year. That has to count for something. Cubs win 5-1. IT'S ON MOTHERFUCKERS!
  21. cold weather does cause dong shrinkage Not to mention Soler is trash in cold weather when he wears the ski mask or whatever.
  22. ugh. That makes me sick. Hope the poster saw it and removed it in time, but I doubt it. StubHub will usually void those sales.
  23. I know we're all supposed to hate Kane and pretend he doesn't exist, but he's come out of the gate strong and remains extremely fun to watch. I enjoy his entire on-ice catalog. Sue me.
  24. There's also this. [expletive] St. Louis: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/huppke/ct-cubs-cardinals-huppke-20151008-story.html
  25. This is great. From Tim Baffoe: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/10/08/baffoe-for-cubs-fans-now-comes-the-pleasure-of-the-unpleasantness/
