  1. Quakers

    Week 5

It figures! I am listed as having won the game, but I don't think the commish has removed my last start yet. Floyd earned 4.5 points. Not much, but it gave me the winning margin. Could someone fix the score please? Sorry, I thought that I had my line-up correctly set. I guess I should always double check.

Talbot pitches for the Indians. His game started first. I have mixed feelings about this game. On the one hand it sucks being 0 for the season. On the other hand, having the number one pick next year would be nice. I take that back. I am unsure which game was first. Talbot is done and Floyd is still pitching. But I am not sure if it matters. Isn't it the highest score??

    Week 5

Paging Juan (or any acting commish) I plead guilty. Apparently I lost track of starts. The extra start may decide which team is 1-4 and which team is 0-5. This could be crucial to who gets the #1 draft pick next year. I am not sure who you deduct. Floyd had -4.5 points and Talbot had 2.5 points (don't laugh, but these are amongst my best starters this year).
  5. Note to self....never brag during the preseason trash talking sessions about how good your team is and how you are going to make the play-offs, etc... At this year I may be trading veterans for prospects and draft picks earlier than I have ever had to before

    Week 3

My team has had a terrible start. But there have been signs of life. My pitching has been awful. :blackeye:
  7. Quakers

    Week 1

Today is the day for the Quakers. I have four starts. If I have not at least pulled even, then this week will be my first loss. Why Papelbon was left in for the second inning this early in the season????
  8. Quakers

    Week 1

My initial impression is no, but I await a decree from our high and mighty commish :-)

    Week 1

What no week one thread? Someone ought to start one
  11. Now that you mention it, maybe not... What are the requirements for a hitter, or a pitcher for that matter?
  12. Juan, I think we can get rid of a few of the stickies. 2010 draft pick trades, prospect draft, and I am finished drafting.
  13. NL East- Phillies NL Cent- Cardinals NL West- Rockies Wildcard- Dodgers NL MVP- Pujols NL Cy Young- Lincecum NL ROY- Brandon Allen AL East- Red Sox AL Cent- Twins AL West- Angels Wildcard- TB Rays AL MVP- Mauer AL Cy Young- Beckett AL ROY- Scott Sizemore NL Wildcard- Dodgers over Phillies, Cards over Rockies NLCS- Dodgers over Cards AL Wildcard- Angels over Rays, Twins over Red Sox NLCS- Angels over Twins World Series- Angels over Dodgers ....and most importantly..The Fight'n Quakers are the champions of Roadkill! \:D/
  14. I am going to have a rush of players that will top 200 ABs in June/July. Scott Sizemore, Brandon Allen, Brandon Wood, Cameron Maybin, Fernando Martinez and possibly a pitcher too with Hudson. A good problem to have, but will I be able to find room for them in my roster?
  15. Arg...my first injury. Blanton out for 3 to 6 weeks!
  16. Best comment that I have heard in a long while...
  17. I like mine, but maybe due to wishful thinking C- Mauer - the best catcher, .350 and 30 or more hrs is reasonable 1b - Votto - I hope he is in the top 5 at his position, .300 and 30 or more hrs 2b - Kendrick - This may be wishfull thinking, but I see .350 this year ss - Bartlett - I think his numbers will make him near elite at this position. .320 and 20 hrs 3b - Reynolds - another 40 hrs OF - Dunn - another 40 hrs OF - McCutcheon - .300, 15 hrs, and 40 or more steals OF - Zobrist - .300 and 25 hrs DH - Wood - again wishful thinking, but I think this is the year he breaks into the 40 hr level So, I think my offense has the potential to be real good. But I really need Kendrick and Wood to come through. But, I think that is a reasonable possibility. My starting pitching is good. Billingsley, Jurrjens, Floyd, Slowey, Blanton, Saunders, Pavano, and Blackburn make a strong staff. I really think Slowey is going to have an all-star year. With Broxton and Popelbon I think I have the league's best pen. I also like my minors. Maybin, Martinez, Allen, Sizemore, and Hudson should all contribute this year. If not for the Quakers, then as trade bait. So, I think the Quakers should make the play-offs. And if Kendrick, Wood, and Slowey live up to expectations... who knows. But then I think the Cubs are going to win the world series each spring too.
  18. The Quakers are finished. I assume that someone will make this a sticky
  19. Is this for any random draft pick in 2011, or did you mean to specify a particular round. You all should start this entire thread over, because I'm certainly confused. Quakers 8th rounder this year for mine next year. I don't understand the confusion?
  20. Tootielicious trades their 8th round pick in the 2011 draft for Quakers pick in the 2010 draft.
  21. Nor I you.
  22. No, Saber Metrics trade their 7 round pick in 2001 for the Quakers 7th round 2010 pick and the rights to keep the draft moving faster. ;) ??? 2001? :? I assume that is a typo.
  23. Sabermetrics trade their 7th round pick in the 2011 draft for Quakers 7th round pick in the 2010 draft. Juan, I assume that you can make this a sticky.
  24. Get well soon Karen. :good:
  25. Sorry Juan, will send this week. You do realize there's a hefty late fee for White Sox fans? :amen:
