  1. I don't know why you guys are pining for ryan freel so badly. I'd rather see Scales out there than freel or miles.
  2. Pretty brutal outing today. Back to back hit batters on his first pitches? Come on.
  3. It was a tie game - no blown save. My bad.
  4. Freakin' Bobby Scales, man.
  5. Vizcaino blew the save for Cleveland tonight on a 9th inning walkoff Upton HR.
  6. Told you guys.
  7. I didn't have a problem with Hendry at all until this past off season. Now I have a fairly big problem.
  8. lou is about as impulsive as a five year old. hoffpauir makes an error in the outfield? i don't think we'll play him out there. wells has a decent start (1.4 WHIP but 0 ERA in 5 innings) and now he's a guy you just can't let go? give me a break. How much of this is direct from Lou and how much is media speculation?
  9. this I agree, Wells got good results in his first start, but he gave up a lot of hits/BB and was hit fairly hard. All it's going to take is a short outing from him (less than 4 innings) and giving up a few runs and walking/giving up a lot of hits and Lou will demand he gets sent down and somehow, someway Neil Cotts will continue to be a major league pitcher. This is probably exactly what will happen.
  10. Fair enough...I'll definitely be paying a little extra attention to him if he gets a lot of times with the big league club.
  11. All he had to do was pitch well the first time Lou used him for Lou to have confidence in him. He's pitched really well in AAA so far this year and pitched reasonably well down there last year. Considering the pool of talent that teams tend to draw on for relievers, it's seems somewhat reasonable to have some hope for the guy. Fair enough, but I think your first sentence says everything about our pitching staff right now.
  12. Why wouldn't we? Ascanio is only 24, has always had great stuff, and went from putting up decent numbers in the pen in AAA last year to putting up tremendous numbers in the rotation in AAA this year. A 5.10 era and 1.41 whip (2008) is 'decent'? I think he needs some more time in the minors, is all.
  13. I really don't have as many knee-jerk reactions as some of you guys regarding transactions, but I will pretty angry myself if Marshall is removed from the rotation. What's even worse is he might be removed not because he sucks, but because neal cotts sucks. Not cool. And what has Wells done to inspire all this confidence anyway?
  14. Why are you guys so hype about Ascanio?
  15. I didn't realize there was a rule where your team has to have a better player at the position to rip a matching player on an opposing team.
  16. ok, the one that says "let's get F'd up like speizio" is pretty funny
  17. greinke is freaking out of control right now
  18. thats..uh.. pretty much what I'd expect a middle aged woman on meth to look like. wash your damn hair, jeez.
  19. Scales hitting .320/.415/.499 with a 59BB/90K ratio at time of call up.
  20. How could Crawford not be one of the people you'd imagine stealing six bases?
  21. I'm pretty sure the Brewers are a stupider team. I've seen them make so many boneheaded plays against us over the years, and I'm not even going to mention Ned Yost. It could be worse.
  22. I wouldn't take an eight yea---- oh, someone already said it.
  23. I knew teammates that used to cut pieces of a sock, or whatever, and glue it to that part of the glove. It kept the bottom of your finger from getting rubbed raw.
