  1. My friend drove to Cincy for yesterday's game and today's. Freakin' brutal.
  2. I agree. I really like what I've seen of Blanco so far.
  3. Didn't expect this game to still be on after getting home from work...
  4. what a great thread
  5. How can you say that with a straight face? The guy has been lights out so far.
  6. Can someone please tell me why Steve Stone had pictures like that taken?
  7. It's almost as if Theriot's made me forget what competent defense at SS is like.
  8. Didn't stop Milwaukee with Gamel.
  9. How does Soriano's defense pass the test? In my opinion Soriano plays an above-average LF.
  10. I could not agree with this post more. It's a common complaint with the Cubs for me, though. They seem to routinely call up hot players in the minors only to let them sit on the bench. How does Scales get into so many games, but Fox sits? And I LIKE Scales. I just don't understand the logic. I know Fox hasn't been up long at all, so save me those comments, but with the way Hoffpauir's D scared Lou at first, I can see him thinking the same thing here.
  11. You've made a very stupid post here for your debut fella. 6 games is fairly standard for pitchers, it forces them to miss time. The league may have gone further, if the ump hadn't contributed to the problem. But it was a perfectly acceptable outcome. Again, very stupid post, put some thought into it next time. So apparently being a regular here makes you exempt from mods for personal attacks? This is a Cubs forum man, people come here to hang out and read/enjoy the Cubs. Why do you have to make replies like that to new posters? I mean obviously this site costs money and is paid for by advertisement views, so I don't know how smart it is to come down all elitist on new posters like that. Just cut out your first and last sentences, no need for it.
  12. What is everyone's obsession with Khalil Greene? He sucks. Except for 2007, he's always sucked, and he will continue to suck for as long as he plays baseball. We have enough sucky players on this team. We don't need any more. He's decent defensively, but do we need another guy who can't hit? Yea, I'm finally ready to admit that he just sucks.
  13. He threw the umpire out of the freaking game! lol.
  14. Stubhub is completely awesome in my experiences.
  15. I should say that I still have quite a bit of faith in Piniella. Just because he's said some questionable stuff doesn't mean we should be questioning his sanity level.
  16. It is pretty funny when he can't even form a sentence in the post game press conferences. I always had trouble picturing him giving a stirring clubhouse meeting to his team.
  17. This single sentence was like a brutal dart to the face. For extra bonus pain, I suggest playing a game called "list of relievers the Cubs could have signed for the approximate cost of Aaron Miles". I'd rather talk about signing Miles for two years instantly instead of orlando hudson.
  18. Yea, mods are being pretty anal retentive imo. With the way the Cubs are playing lately, can't we all lighten up a bit?
  19. ugh, at least make it difficult. come on what?
  20. What would you do if you were in a position of power with the Cubs right now, then? Wait it out indefinitely? Honestly curious. Frankly, yes. If I could make a change in the roster via trade that I felt would improve the team, I'd surely do that, but at this point in the season, few teams are selling. Changing the manager or hitting coach at this point is unlikely to bring results. Both Lou and Perry are good at what they do. There's probably few if any people that could be found at midseason who are better than they. Firing the GM at this point does nothing. Right now, the best thing to do is wait it out. Now, if this team flounders all year long, then looking at wholesale changes is a valuable thing to do. It's just that it's pretty pointless at this stage and probably will do more harm than good. /nod
  21. We're all sick, guys. We're sick. We need to be institutionalized for putting up with this. So, so sick.
