What does your avatar mean? What is OOF WAH? honestly just curious. its not like the game is worth talking about at this point anyway. Dont know the actual meaning, but OOF WAH was the rally cry of the West Side Rooters, which originates I believe in the 1907-08b era. Gotcha :)

it would take oh so very much to even get back to good Not really. I'd just like to see some assertiveness out of Piniella and the front office. They're just assuming various players are going to "snap out of it", which isn't good enough.

I think we see some lineup changes tonight in the form of Hill and Hoffpauir (and maybe Fontenot back at 2B w/ Miles at 3B). This leads to us scoring at least 4-5 runs, which will be enough due to a strong performance from Sean. Cubs win 5-2 on a strong game from Theriot sparking the offense, and a 3R blast from Hoffpauir.

Then who's at 3B? Miles? I guess Miles, until Ram comes back, then DFA? I doubt Hendry would do that though, but I can't stand the guy. I don't know -- I was suggesting it more for Fonty's benefit than anything. I no longer think we are doing him any favors having him pound his head against the brick wall like this. He's in unfamiliar territory -- struggling badly as a starter in the majors. Perhaps he's just not ready for that. Get him back on firm ground, see if his bat come back a little with more time off. Definitely see where you're coming from, and at this point, I don't think we can do any more harm to him. Time to try something different.

I agree with this statement except for Scales. Scales ceiling is probably a utility guy, which is fine, but we are going to need to be starting him 3-5 times a week until Aram gets back and I don't think he's capable of being a close to everyday guy. Well, if you can ignore his age, he was obliterating AAA before his call up. the .885 OPS isnt exactly obliteration. Ok, well, it's certainly well above average, especially for a middle infielder. Right?

I agree with this statement except for Scales. When Z comes back, how about we DFA Miles, put Fonty back on the bench, and try Scales @ starting 2B? I don't understand what's up with Fontenot. There was every reason to think he'd hang around a 775-825 OPS this season. I don't know. I just think right now it would be better for him to go back to his more familiar role. Then who's at 3B? Miles?

Team record by starting second baseman CUBS are 8-6 when Fontenot starts at 2b CUBS are 11-7 when Miles starts at 2b CUBS are 2-3 when Scales starts at 2b That's called mediocrity. :(
