  1. I was willing to give Trachsel a chance...he's had his chance. Marshall has had some time to rest, put him or Gallagher in there.
  2. I think he just needs some rest, he'd only been throwing about 75 pitches per start.
  3. The best I can do to follow the game today is cbs sportline, which is several minutes behind. So if anyone is dying to do some pbp, I won't try to stop you.
  4. I would hope Homer Bailey is hurt. Otherwise this clown pitching is ridiculous. ? Phil Dumatrait was the Cinci starter. I think he meant, there better be a reason Bailey is not starting in place of him.
  5. I'm thinkin it might be good to get Z out of there
  6. I love it when people are just too damn smart to have a sense of humor.
  7. HA!! Yikes, thats not good (for them). Especially considering they don't have any more off days. I can't imagine Stl staying in this the rest of the season.
  8. About what? Tell us please? Sweet we get to listen into Scully thats awesome the perfect game? *sigh* There's always somebody. Yeah, because talking about it on a message board that Marquis probably doesn't even know about is going to cause him to blow it somehow. First batter after the comment. Certainly, if not for that comment, Marquis wouldn't have done that. You can't prove otherwise.
  9. He's probably lucky in the sense that he's facing the Dodgers, who are only slightly better than the Cubs offensively. Are they statistically better...cause their lineup seems really bad to me.
  10. I love Murton, but a baserunning guru he is not. nor is he a fielding guru It doesnt matter....I'm mad at Ward right now.
  11. Bench Ward and put in Murton.....stupid Ward.
  12. He gave it to a charity to help the victims of Katrina. Then our only option is to get a mob together and rough up anyone that was helped by that donation.
  13. I think the Cubs offense could improve quite a bit by next year. We have had awful production from RF, CF, and C, along with have Izturis playing a lot early on. If we can get a decent RF for the 5 spot and if Pie and Soto perform adequately, I think we'll have a good lineup. Soriano Theriot Lee Ramirez RF Derosa/Patterson Pie Soto We also have a pretty solid foundation for the rotation. Hopefully this is Z's worst year, Lilly and Hill should stay solid, Then we have Marquis, Marshall, Gallagher, maybe Guzman, and a slight chance of Prior to finish out the rotation. Our bullpen should also be pretty solid for a few more years, especially if a couple of Pignatiello, Petrick, Wood, Hart can pan out. I know I broke the rules and didn't stick with a stagnant roster, but whatever.
  14. IIRC, didn't one time Jones said that he was working with Tony Gwynn with his swing? I can't recall when it was, but it was when he was in Chicago. unfortunately for Jones, it was Tony Gwynn Jr. Ziiiing =D>
  15. I wouldn't even feel safe then. Don't worry, Trachsel's on the mound. 8-) I don't get all the Trachsel bashing. I know ERA isn't everything, but you have to be doing something right to have a 4.50'ish ERA in the AL East. That's about where Lilly was last year. That stat Len just gave is the reason why people arent thrilled with this move. He has the worst K/bb ratio in all of baseball. That means there are alot of balls put in play along with those walks, so he tends to look for a lot of luck to help him out. But he has to be doing something right.
  17. I guess I need to watch more TV, I thought the Brewers and Mariners were the only ones....kind of makes this thread pointless...oh well. And for the record, I think Dane Cook can be very funny, but he's still loud and obnoxious.
  18. Why? I don't understand why. because trachsel is not good. that's why. Marshall has been averaging less than 75 pitches per start the past month. It really seems like he needs a break. I'd rather see what Gallagher's got, but I think giving Trachsel a couple starts in Marshall's place is a good thing. I just hope that if Trachsel sucks it up they'll give Marshall the spot back after a couple times through the rotation.
  19. I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere, but those promos Dane Cook does for the playoffs seem to be cursed. They did one on the Brewers before they starting tanking and now they've been playing one about the Mariners who have lost 9 straight. Those are the only two I've seen, but I don't watch ESPN all that much (I think they're on ESPN). If those are the only two, that's pretty funny. I just don't want to hear that obnoxiously loud mouth talking about the Cubs.
  20. No. This guy isn't banned yet? I know, what a jerk. The guy asked if he was correct, and he wasn't, so he was told that he was, in fact, incorrect. Why stop at banning, let's kill him. You seriously haven't noticed a trend with his posts? I've seen very few of his posts that weren't "this thread is worthless" or "no". I guess its easier to just be an ass.
  21. No. This guy isn't banned yet?
  22. Exactly. I like Uecker a lot as well, but don't try to tell me he didn't deserve to be booed last night. His team is in the middle of a pennant race against our team in one of the biggest games of the year. The fans had every right to boo him and I probably would have booed him if I were at Wrigley as well. I don't get why this is a story. There was no reason for him to avoid saying Brewers, and there's nothing wrong with booing him. I definitely agree. My comment was in response to people acting like he had no choice. I'm not all torn up that he said Brewers, but there were ways around it.
  23. Lee and Aram are both above their career OPS
