Seriously, the Cubs have 1 OF with more than 4 homeruns. There has to be somebody Hendry can get.

I smell a 3 way deal with the Cubs getting Dye and Church and the White Sox and Nationals get to share Eyre.

Maybe Hendry can convince Bowden to take Pagan or Jones instead. :pint: Pagan and a mid-level prospect wouldn't really surprise me.

Would also likely be the death knell of Murton in Chicago, correct? I kind of thought Church would play CF and wouldn't really effect Murton. Of course, Murton could be part of the deal. I don't know if I'd like giving up Murton for Church. They seem very similar, with Murton having a little more potential and maybe a little better bat and Church being a better defender and being able to play CF. Church is every bit the bat Murton is, probably better. And at a position more difficult to fill. I'd certainly give up Murton for Church if that were the option. That's true, but the Cubs don't really have anything to fill RF with either. I think an outfield of Soriano-Church-Murton would be our best bet. If it came down to it, I'd probably give up Murton since he won't get a shot in Chicago anyway, but it'd be best if they could get Church and keep Murton to platoon with Floyd.

This guy sounds so sore.... The Cubs/ Yankees comparison is ridiculous. The Cubs are only spending 99m. Don't get me wrong, that's a lot, but its only 3rd in the NL and 8th in baseball. The Yankees spend over twice as much as most teams, the Cubs spend 9m more than the Cardinals and 12 more than the Astros. And the idea that the Cubs spent 300m in the offseason is so stupid. Thats over the next 8 years, its like saying the Brewers paid Suppan $52m over the offseason. And finally, over half of the Cubs' current 25 man roster came from their system. In conclusion, the Brewers can cry a freakin river.

I was at the Cincinnati airport after the game, taking a dump in the bathroom. All of a sudden, this big burly guy pokes his head in the stall, and wouldn't ya know, its Adam Dunn. He says, "You a Cubs fan?" I tell him that I am, and he says, "Watch the news tonight, kid. Looks like the northside is getting a new LF'er." And then he winks at me. I don't care if you guys believe me, but we did trade for Dunn. It might be a few days before he can start for us though because I did file charges.

I saw it last night. Wasn't really impressed :cry: I am afraid it will just be like 4 episodes ran together. That's basically what it is. How so? The main plot has a beginning, middle, and end that runs through the whole movie, with a couple side-plots that run through the whole movie. Not like 4 random episodes tied up, It just felt like a movie made for TV. I don't know why. I love the Simpsons just as much as the next guy but last night I didn't find myself laughing as much as I thought I would. Gotcha....I think I liked it just because I was expecting it to suck. By the previews I thought they were going to way over-do it, which they did a little bit. But I thought it was pretty dang funny and not a bad story.

Very good movie. I was kind of worried about it, being a life-long Simpsons fan and the previews looking kind of dumb...but I was really happy with it.

You have to file a protest that the umps violated a certain rule and you have to state what that rule was. The Soriano play was a subjective call, so the umps didn't violate any rules. And what happens after you file the protest? How do they go about fixing the situation?

Derrek told me that he always wears protection. That isnt what Jada says. I know what you mean, but wow. That could be taken very very badly. :lol: Yeah, I meant because she was his daughter. Thus at some point he had to have not used protection. Yeah, I know. Just sayin....at first glance that kind of made my eyes pop.

I wouldn't want him long term, but I'd definitely welcome someone with more HR than anyone on the team for the rest of the season. Exactly what I'm saying. That guy will go back down to his career norms which are about as good as Jacque Jones but just with a couple more homeruns. If only Jones could get to his career norm with power. I can't believe he only has 2 homeruns and .333 slugging. Not that he's ever been great, but his decent career numbers would be a huge upgrade. -

If we trade Murton for Mahay or Laird, I'm going to.....I'm going to....sit here and be upset about it. -
I'm sure it doesn't hurt his HR rate going from facing ARod, Giambi, Ortiz, Manny, etc. on a regular basis, to facing the devastation lineups of the Astros, Cardinals, and Pirates.
