  1. The Brewers had someone rushing to get ready in the bullpen.....
  2. Theriot for starting SS! You actually think Izturis is a better option? I do want to make it clear that I think Theriot should play SS a decent amount of the time even with those problems-but he does have to work on those two things, because they both have been pretty glaring. I was responding to RichHillIsABeast..... You had a valid point.

  4. Theriot not playing very good....So hurray, looks like the return of Izturis tomorrow.
  5. Whoa!!! Did the Cubs suddenly get Abreu to account for 11 of those pitches?
  6. I'm now convinced Theriot should play SS every day........ Just like I was before the season.
  7. Floyd now batting .240. Play that hot-hand, Lou.
  8. You know what I like about the Cubs? They never make the opposing pitcher throw a lot of pitches. They have to be the most courteous team in baseball.
  9. I'm sure they will, I've learned never to underestimate this team.
  10. =D> I got a very good laugh out of that. Well played.
  11. At least Hill actually struggled for awhile. Murton's ML line is .301/.367/.453. There really isn't an excuse for it. By the way, I'm not defending the treatment of Hill.
  12. Lou Piniella = Colossal failure as manager of the Cubs who duped everyone waxing poetic about midgets who can walk and Murton in the 2 hole. Uh oh. That sound you hear is the honeymoon ending prematurely. Caught playing grab-ass in the first month....honeymoon, over. ? We've lost a ton of close ballgames b/c a bunch of guys who should be producing, aren't. That's not Lou's fault. A ton of guys aren't producing and we're still in just about every game. That's not playing "grab-ass" on Lou's part. It's the players not earning their paychecks. If people aren't producing and there are better players on the bench (Murton, Theriot) and there are players like Eyre still pitching in crucial situations, then I feel perfectly justified placing a lot of the blame on Lou. When players that aren't producing yet aren't replaced by available better players, you can't just blame the players forever.
  13. Is it just me, or has Lou done a whole lot of "say one thing, do something else"? you're definitely seeing things clearly.

  15. Maybe his idea of tweaks here & there falls more in line with other people's idea of major overhauls. That's hilarious. Or maybe he just once again said something he didn't plan on sticking to. He seriously needs to run for mayor or something.
  16. CubColtPacer, you got some 'splainin to do. right-handed pitcher. From what has been said, normally Soriano and Pie would be in there and Jones would get the start and not Floyd. Today, they get a chance to both be together. When Jones/Murton/Floyd share one OF spot, it will likely be Jones against right-handers and Murton against left-handers, with the only chance for Floyd to start is days like this where Soriano or Pie sit. That's what I was saying before-and btw, I'm not in complete agreement with it-I want Floyd to get some starts, but I want Murton to play more than he has. When are you going to run out of excuses for this? It's always going to be something, just like with Dusty. It's not an excuse-it is what's happening. I don't like it-I think Floyd is playing too much. That's the reason though he's playing-it's a right-handed pitcher, and against a right-hander it's Jones who gets to start first, then Floyd, then Murton. I'm simply saying that Floyd's not usually going to get to start anymore because Jones is blocking him against RHP, while Murton is the one who gets to play against LHP. I bet $5 that the next time the Cubs face a leftie, Murton doesn't start and Lou busts out his, "you have to have a leftie in there to make the pitcher throw both sides of the plate" routine. The only way Lou doesn't suck as much as Dusty right now is that he hasn't abused the starters.

I would argue that the evidence pointing to Murton being 3rd in the pecking order is starting to mount. Thus far, you're grasping at straws, my man.
  18. As much as I like Murton and want me to succeed as a Cub, it looks like thats never going to happen. Trading him would be best for all involved. The Cubs could continue forcing themselves the suck and Murton could go on to be a very good player for a decent franchise.
  19. I'm sorry you have to be the daily bearer of bad news, Bruce. But thanks anyway.
  20. CubColtPacer, you got some 'splainin to do.
  21. Don't forget to add in Izturis' daily DP. Well, I was just highlighting the baserunning error. GIDPs happen. Getting picked off 2nd when there's a soft liner almost right at the 2B should not happen. Others days it's oversliding a bag, or getting caught stealing in a dumb situation, or pulling a Jacque2006/Soriano2007. For a team with so few baserunners, they have too many of them getting themselves out. Oh, I understand. I just like to take every opportunity to point out how horridly Izturis sucks.
  22. Should I tell the driver of the Mark Cuban bandwagon to stop and pick you up?
