  1. there's no way the cubs will get more value than a slightly below league average starting pitcher if they trade prior right now. I would have thought that, but that's also when I wouldn't have thought there's be a line around the corner asking about him. If there's a market, someone might overpay.
  2. Hendry's probably slobbering all over himself. He could probably get any weak-hitting middle infielder he wants for Prior. Kid in a candy store.
  3. There are about 5 posts in this thread that remind me of, "You wouldn't believe what I heard....I can't tell you."
  4. And I'm going to be kind and stop my post here.
  5. Nady would be a starter and he's light years better than Murton Nady career OPS: .768 Murton career OPS: .820
  6. Is Figgins any good at SS?
  7. I think I know what's happening. Hendry knows his days are numbered as the Cubs GM, so he's trying to stick it to them by giving his best advice to the other teams in the division....Well, keep up the good work!
  8. Favre is the most popular player? Tom Brady anyone? Is Brady really that popular? I live near Indy so my perception may be tainted but it seems like he's largely disliked besides by Patriots fans and ESPN.
  9. Man, I'm really glad we didn't sign him. I can't even imagine how s would have skyballed around here.
  10. Maybe DeRosa should just learn to bat lefty...He'd probably be about as good as Matsui.
  11. I'm getting ready to eat my left over pizza that I didn't eat last night. I think this may be the happiest moment of my life. I'm so thankful for my will-power.
  12. I think if we could add Fukudome or Tejada then the offense would be good enough with the rotation we would have. The pitching and offense would both be improved.
  13. Despite overwhelming popular demand, I went for the Fruity Pebbles. Goodnight.
  14. Alright, I have a couple pieces of pizza left but I was hoping to save those for lunch tomorrow. My other choice is a bowl of Fruity Pebbles. The pizza is more appealing to me right now, but I'll be disappointed tomorrow when its gone and I have to have a PBJ or some crap. What should I eat?....and hurry up and vote, I'm hungry.
  15. should be "knees" plural, both my knees are whack and I'm 6'2, 200 lbs... I'm not a tub. you can't see this buy I just balooned up my cheeks and did the fat guy walk Yeah, well you don't even know words.
  16. As if Citizen's Bank is Griffith Stadium or something? That place is more of a bandbox than Coors these days. Coors was 10th in baseball in home runs this year. Thank you. I was scrolling down trying to find out if someone would post this, otherwise I was going to. The effect of Coors on Holliday's totals has been wildly overestimated when you consider that Rollins plays in a similarly hitter friendly park. Even more ridiculous is the fact that he wasn't even the best shortstop in his league, and this shortstop happened to play in Pro Player  Wonder what Rollins' number would look like in Pro Player... :-& rollins at citizens bank: 300/336/556 rollins at dolphins stadium: 341/404/659 Not trying to start an arguement, but how many games did Rollins play in PP, and who did he hit against. It's like saying Player X had a career line of .315/.408/.495 at Wrigley before being signed by the Cubs, problem is he played 8 games there and hit against Cubs pitching. With the Cubs he put up .265/.335/.406 at Wrigley. Now, that's a made up player, but I've heard things like that mentioned on enough Cubs broadcasts in my life to make me cringe. If I remember correctly, Pierre had really good stats at Wrigley before 06.
  17. wins don't matter, write Meph? I think there's a big difference between having a lot of wins in individual seasons and racking up nearly 300 over a career. Meph may disagree and have some math stat thing that will prove me wrong and that I won't be smart enough to understand.
  18. OK then. Who plays center? Fukudome, maybe try Patterson there, or try to trade for someone like Church.
  19. As a human being, yes. However, I don't admire Cobb as a person but as a baseball player, so that question is irrelevant. Do you actually think anyone believes this? Seriously, you have bent over backwards here to defend this guy when his actions were totally despicable. You are being completely dishonest here. I think anyone who has actually read his posts and not the IMB translation of his posts, would believe him. All he has said is that he was a horrible person that has had some things about him exaggerated. I didn't spin anything he said, go ahead and try and prove otherwise. For god's sake, he said that he didn't know what was worse, beating an innocent man who was just doing his job and then stabbing the person that tried to break the fight up or punching someone. If your head isn't spinning then you're just as crazy as he is. Does that count?

  21. I hate it when someone's entire argument is sarcasm and changing what the other person said....That's all.
  22. Yeah, I heard a minute or two of that. They were wondering why every player busted for steroids weren't being prosecuted. They brought up Mcgwire as a counterexample. I wanted to scream at them that steroids weren't the reason that Bonds is being prosecuted, it's that he lied about using them to a grand jury. Mcgwire never did that, nor did pretty much everybody on the Mitchell list (another thing they brought up wondering if the feds are going to go after all of them too). It was a really, really poor argument, actually worse than ESPN usually is. It's amazing that people cannot grasp the concept of lying to a grand jury as being a crime in and of itself. Why can no one seemingly understand this? It annoys me when people talk about how Clinton was impeached for getting a bj. He was impeached for lying under oath! I'm not defending or complaining about anything beyond that or making any political statements, but that much annoys me.
  23. Wasn't the Marquis signing pretty obvious for awhile before it happened?
