  1. Just like the Cubs would destroy the Dbacks? The Dbacks are for real, it will be a hell of a series. I agree. It should be a very good series of FUNDAMENTAL baseball. Cubs managment and players should be taking notes. The DBags haven't been playing all that fundamentally sound. They've had several screw ups. The DiamondDouches are not for real. When Doug Davis makes you look that bad, its all on you. The Cubs have played horridly.
  2. At least Lee is joined by everyone on the team except Ward and Soto.
  3. No, you can't think ahead to game 5. You have to concentrate on one game and one game only. You will figure out to do for game 5 when you get to game 5. Thinking ahead already potentially screwed us once this series. well since they're all elimination games, why not throw Z on 2 days rest in Game 3? It makes as much sense as pitching him Game 4. I understood the idea of pitching him Game 4 if we were up 2-1 and it could clinch the series at home. At this point, we'd be going back to Arizona regardless of who pitches (assuming we get it to Game 5). Who would you rather have going in Game 5, Z on full rest or Lilly on short rest? Lilly would be on normal rest. Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon. We have a better chance of winning game 5 if we get there, we should definitely pitch Z in game 4, imo.
  4. No, you can't think ahead to game 5. You have to concentrate on one game and one game only. You will figure out to do for game 5 when you get to game 5. Thinking ahead already potentially screwed us once this series. I agree...Do everything you can to get there and hope for the best.
  5. That Soto HR was the most excited I've been in quite some time.
  6. My girlfriend is a huge Cubs fan, so we're basically not even on talking terms right now. mine likes the cubs a lot too (she had to be the only girl in ohio today wearing a matt murton t-shirt jersey), but she's only watched them for 2 years, so I don't think she understands how i can get that upset over a silly sport. One of my roommates tonight, in the 6th inning, says "If the Cubs lose are you going to be in a bad mood?" I was already in a very bad mood and his stupid question made it worse. I said "yep". Then he says, "I think you're taking sports too seriously". It took every ounce of physical, mental, and spiritual strength I had not to unleash on him in all possible ways. Why are there such stupid people in the world.
  7. I about got into it with a couple people tonight. I just hate when people that don't care about the game start asking me about it when they know its going bad. This stupid skank that was over at my house before the game says, "Hey, I heard the Cubs lost last night" Not even trying to be funny teasing, just legitimately thinking thats a good conversation starter. So I said, "Yeah, thanks" and then proceeded to ignore her. Few things irritate me more than these kinds of people.
  8. He deserves it. They should send the team back to Chicago on a greyhound....and I don't mean the bus.
  9. BOOOOOOOO!!!! BOOOOOOOOO!!! (deep breathe) BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  10. I just don't get how an entire team except for a rookie catcher and one pinch hitter can look so ridiculously clueless at the plate. Its like they all forgot that pitchers can throw pitches that move. There have been more swings at balls in the dirt this series than I can count. I know hitting major league pitching is hard, but how does this happen? How do you look so utterly foolish against mediocre pitching? I hate baseball.
  11. just my heart :(
  12. I would also like to see Cedeno get a start against a lefty.
  13. Nah. 1984 game 5. I was a wreck. Yeah, I was a pretty big wreck then too...I knew it was only one more year before I would be born and I was getting really frustrated not existing.
  14. This is going to be the most nervous I've ever been watching a game. Even more than games 6 and 7 just because my Cubbie thirst has grown tremendously since 03.
  15. When stupid POS Drew caught Zambrano's line drive, I almost broke a lamp...That was heartbreaking.
  16. You don't bad mouth a two-way superstar like Kenny Weikel without paying the piper, brah. Kenny heard what he said and went straight to the coach and was like "Hey coach, did you hear what this kid said about me? You gonna do something about it? I'm Kenny m-soapdropping Weikel and you'd better do something or I'm going to the boosters to get your ass fired." Coach was all like "Calm down, Kenny. You know you're my guy. Consider MurtonFan's ass, grass." That's how I heard it went down anyway. Great story. What really happened is that I didn't like the way the coaches coached. I didn't like how they acted like football was more important than grades or school. What good athlete makes grades. Everyone knows athletes are given grades. Great athletes are born out of adversity.
  17. Am I the only person that thought the guy with the sign was hilarious? It was stupid, yeah, but the ridiculousness of it makes it amazing.
  18. I just keep thinking about how awful it will be if they lose tomorrow. Please Lilly...please offense....please.
  19. Man, I got this really pissed off feeling before the game when they were talking about Cub fans being there and said something like, "the Diamondbacks said they're ready and play to have "beat the cubs" on the screen when the Cub fans start chanting" That is the most [expletive] thing ever. Just get better fans you moron pieces of crap! And I can't help it, I thought the guy with the neon sign was one of the funniest things ever...I doubt many people will agree, but thats me.
  20. Right now I feel like the Cubs will never win another game....ever.
  21. Oh my gosh, I am so ready....Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh
  22. Geez...I can't believe I have to go to stupid class on one of the biggest holidays of the year.
