  1. Is it too early to assume the Bears will be going for a QB with their 1st pick?
  2. Ozzie Smith, and I don't give a damn how good his defense was.
  3. I was actually anxious to see what Felix Jones could do as the #1 back. He might be a steal in the draft depending on where he will be projected.
  4. Well I'm pretty sure he didn't have any writers prepare his speech for him.
  5. fixed /pet peeve Stupid mistake now that I see it, thanks.
  6. Quick, figure out the 6 teams. I'd venture a guess of Detroit, Arizona, Houston, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Kansas City? I think Arizona beat the Cowboys in the '97 playoffs. I don't really remember though. The TO press conference at the end of the game was very suprising. I am actually starting to really like the guy, and can't believe the complete 360 he has conducted.
  7. I haven't seen this anywhere, but MLS turned down Preston North End's $2million bid for Taylor Twellman. Twellman doesn't seem all that thrilled either. I don't think they will ever get more than that offered for him. Just take the deal and let him go over to a league that he can actually grow in. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=497488&cc=5901
  8. Arsenal slip with a draw 1-1. ManU and Newcastle were tied 0-0 at the half, United win 6-0. We now again have a two way tie a the top.
  9. Do you like dudes or something?
  10. I play on field turf and wear puma indoor shoes. Just get something comfortable that has good traction -- no cleats necessary. They probably won't allow cleats even on field turf. Here is what I use for field turf. http://www.soccer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=1017&Product_Id=2603&showcase=t
  11. Ronaldo is getting old, but Liverpool could use him for making next seasons Champions League push. I thought Anelka had turned down Chelsea. Chelsea had an initial offer of I think 12m turned down. Yeah I dont see Ronaldo adding that much to either. Yeah Liverpool needs another striker to go along with Torres, but Ronaldo hasnt been able to stay fit for a while now. He looks like he has added the 2003 Carlos Zambrano diet to his resume is part of the problem. Still I would not be surpsied to see Ronaldo have one more two year run where he is still world class.

  13. I just started playing last week. Are you playing on field turf or astro turf?
  14. I kind of expect the Cards to either sign an HGH product or a pitcher coming off of some major surgery.
  15. I can't see Derrek getting over 30 again. I don't think its unrealistic to see Lee get over 30. Who knows why his power numbers were so bad to start '07 (wrist or any other explanations), but he was quite studly to end the season. No 2005 Lee will never come back, but I think we could hope for 04 Lee (32 HR) at least and if you think his 2004 numbers aren't bad, consider that his OBP and SLG were both higher last year. Please don't underestimate Lee's value to the 2007 Cubs because only 22 of his hits went over the fence. I fully expect him to hit 30 hr's this season if he is healthy. I honestly think it was just as much mental as it was phsyical coming back from that injury. He is too good of an athlete and for his size not to generate that kind of power.
  16. Website. Please. Here is a site with a bunch of good shirts including that one: http://www.cafepress.com/cubsbleacherbum/2619316 I never knew Murton had his own Firecrotch shirt
  17. I'm more curious about their conservative take on Lee's playing time. Because it's based on past data, 2006 provides a bias for Lee's playing time. Murton playing 156 games then?
  18. He is inching so close, next time he might miss it by 1 vote.
  19. Zips doesn't seem to like Theriot, not that I blame them. I think it is a little under on Aram though, and it really stays conservative on BA it looks like with Lee and Aram. I would be very happy with that from Soto too.
  20. How many of these will there be?: "How did we get to 100 pages about a Brian Roberts trade that hasn't happened yet?" 90 pages on the potential of a Brian Roberts trade that may or may not happen, compared to the 9 pages of the NBA for the entire season. Man the NBA sucks.
  21. how can someone write that article and never once type out "Southern Methodist University'"? What if a casual fan thinks this is Southern Miss? Dumb Isn't Southern Miss USM? maybe. it's just a pet peeve when writers use the acronym seven times in an article and never spell it out. it's lazy But it's SMU. It's practically the name. SMU and USC are the two schools that are most readily indentifiable by their acronyms. I really don't think it's lazy. By the way, first paragraph: I would have thought it was the $10 Million, and the fact that he didn't seem to get along with the AD who was promptly let go once Jones left. There was some kind of brief comment this morning on the radio about the Falcons having a high interest in Pete Carroll. I would be shocked if that happened, but thought it was worth mentioning.
  22. It would be nice to see them come back. If anything I would expect them to come to the level of the U of Houston, and not much more. Would be cool if they hired Craig James and Eric Dickerson.
  23. He needs Pryor very badly, almost regardless of Mallett. Pryor would enable everything Rodriquez wants to do. I would not be suprised if they lost both WR's. I think they are both going to be very solid Pro's.
  24. Very possibly. Texas and USF are the likely candidates if that happens. But you're the one who had them ranked 17th when they were 11-1 and getting beaten by VTech, so I don't know if you're an authority on KU football. They'll lose to OU, Mizzou, Texas and one of {USF, Tech, KSU, Nebraska} They will win three of four from the last set though. I really think we can beat Texas, thought that doesn't mean we will. We won't lose to KSU. That program is in a massive tailspin. Tech and Neb are definite possibilities. It'll be interesting to see if all that Neb talent can start performing under a better coach. Honestly, though, 8-4 + Bowl win would be an acceptable result next year. It's good enough that it would solidify us as a legit Big XII program in a lot of recruits' eyes. At this point, that's what I want. We need to build to the point where we're a true threat to win the conference as opposed to a good team that caught all the breaks. Next year could be the year Tech challenges OU for the South rather than Texas. I keep waiting for them to have one very good season. I think it is a long shot but if they get Julio Jones, him along side Crabtree will be the best WR duo in the nation. With Crabtree taking home all the WR awards as a freshman I think that helps their chances with Jones. Still when was the last time Tech nailed a recruit that big?
  25. Oklahoma is my #1. USC will probably be jut as good, the WR's have a year or experience. Mark Sanchez got in some good action this season, and Joe McKnight will look like Reggie Bush jr. Georgia, LSU, and Florida will all very great. The Big 10 will probably underwhelm again next season. Michigan will be restructuring their offense, OSU will probably run away with it again. I haven't really seen if Virgina Tech is losing anyone, and West Virgina needs to wait and see who they are bringing back. Either way Devine and Pat White alone make them very good.
