  1. Looking to go in July, anyone know the best place/website to get them?
  2. not last weekend 1st time ever
  3. As long as he has to win the job outright come ST
  4. do they rip him for being peyton's brother, or for starting his career like a whiny bitch and then proceeding to not be very good? Plenty of QBs take a few years to figure things out. It's really more the norm than a guy like Peyton. Relatively few QBs are performing at a pro bowl level in their 2nd year. I'm with soccer on this in the sense that I believe too much was expected too soon from Eli, and I do believe part of the reason was because of the pedigree. He's playing like a worthy starter now, and has for awhile. It all began for me right before the draft. I hate the Eagles more than anything, but I don't hate McNabb, same with the Redskins and I don't hate Campbell (well he hasn't done much yet), I hate the Giants but I hate Eli. I'm guessing you don't like him because he whined his way out of SD. I'm not thrilled with it either. But I don't think that's what most New Yorkers think, they just thought they were getting Peyton's clone and so when he turned out to have a lower ceiling (which is pretty clear to me....and was on draft day, too) they freaked out a little bit. ....but having a lower ceiling than one of the greatest QBs ever doesn't mean you can't still do well. I think Eli has a ton of potential, but needs to work on mental strength more than anything else. To me that might be one of the most important factors in playing in New York too. The people there are like sharks when they see blood in the water.
  5. The Colts have become extremely popular. Before this year's undefeated run by the Patriots, the Colts were involved in almost all the highest rated games in recent memory. (Excluding Super Bowls and such, those will always be higher regardless of who's playing.) I am guessing it has something to do with the 324,579 commercials staring Peyton Manning.
  6. As long as we are not trading Hill or Marmol for him.
  7. McBride close to coming back http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=498707&cc=5901

  9. 2nd-3rd round. It'd be interesting for a team to go for a Jordan Danks and Russell draft, reuniting the two in the minors. I'm pretty high on Danks myself. And for some reason, Chris Duncan is always the comparison my head gives me when I think of Kyle Russell. Obviously though, he's got the potential for much greater...but also the potential for much worse. Where does Jordan Danks project on power? His slug% scares me. Russell's 1.263 OPS last season looks nice reading the stats sheet, other than that I don't squat about him.
  10. We need some cool beer sponsorships. Have Fat Tire sponsor the Rapid's or Sam Adams with the Revolution, or the Dynamo with Shiner. Around 97 Ajax had the best jersey I have seen, but I can't find it anymore. It was like a dark charcoal black jersey with the Ajax shield kind of blown up and almost imprinted on it like a watermark. Still one of my favorites: http://www.mediastorehouse.com/image/Alan-Shearer-and-Les-Ferdinand_95206.jpg
  11. What is it now? 11 goals from a 19 year old defensive mid? Awesome. Btw - Feilhaber is considering a transfer to Tel Aviv. Just get on the field, Benny. I'm just shocked and happy. Don't see this kind of rise out of a US born player.
  12. Dear Fulham, Thank you sincerely for giving me Americans to root for in the BPL. Thank you also for your recent acquisition of Eddie Johnson. I am excited to see him want to raise his level of play in the best league in the world. I feel I should warn you though. Ives' article says you are going to pay more for him than you paid for Deuce. I feel this would be a bad move and hope you understand what you are getting into. Eddie will give you all boners with his speed and athletic ability, but his timidity and penchant for disappearing against physical defending make him all but a lock to fail miserably in England. In Deuce you had a still developing, creative and dynamic player who works incredibly hard and always gives it his all. In Eddie, well, you have the opposite of that. I hope it works out for all involved, I just don't think it will. Thanks, Wolf PS, good luck next year in the Championship, but plz don't scapegoat the Americans on your team as Clint and Boca are two of the few premiership quality players on your squad. PPS, if you want to sign some American that will actually help you, sign Michael Parkhurst and Michael Bradley. Agreed, although i would be pissed if Bradley went to Fulham. His recent growth (which i am floored by) suggests he could be much more. I'm still shocked and waiting for him to come back to earth.
  13. I think the Giants vs. Baltimore was one of the worst in recent history, and while Tennessee vs. St. Louis was one of the greatest Super Bowls in recent memory, that game was extremely regional in terms of national (dis)interest I forgot about the Giants/Baltimore, that was one giant crap fest. At least St. Louis had the Kurt Warner story and unexpected season out of nowhere. Tennessee had the music city miracle as well.
  14. If the Chargers and Giants win we might have the most uninteresting and disappointing Super Bowl in recent memory. The Cowboys and Packers have the fan following few have, the Patriots have potential history on their side, we saw some of the most explosive offenses in recent memory this season, and while LT is as good as anyone in the NFL there really are not any crowd favorites playing if that happened. 90% of the US hates Eli or NY in general and 90% of the US doesn't give a damn about San Diego.
  15. I haven't seen Kyle Russell's name anywhere on here, where does he project? Or do the K's scare people off?
  16. Is Omar even an automatic "In" nowadays? If so many years will it take?
  17. Liverpool now appear to be in some sort of talks with Klinsmann too. Tom Hicks admits
  18. If the odds were 10:1 and you put down 100, and won, you'd make 1000. I believe what 10:11 means is you'd have to put down $110 to win $100. In other words, they are a lock to win and won't pay out much at all. It's like betting on the Patriots to win the Super Bowl, they were 9/2 at the start of the year, and are now 2/7. If you put down $7, you will win $2. (I think) And as daske points out, a lot of this is because so many people bet on the Cubs. Perhaps people just can't resist the urge to bet on the perceived longshot of the Cubs winning, so that if the Cubs ever do win, they can be proud of their bet. But it's not a good bet at all, because the odds are unfairly low due to the high activity. Correct, its not an even money bet. You won't recieve an equal portion in the payout from what you bet down.
  19. I think he will close. I don't expect as good, but I think he has all the potential in the world. If you were the Falcons and the Pats offered you Maroney and the #7 pick for the #3 pick and say a 2nd or 3rd round pick would they do it. The Falcons should accept that. Get a RB, can still draft a QB (Ryan/Brohm) at 7 and get an extra pick. I think the Falcons would like to get a QB, but I don't think they will get one with McFadden on the board. The Falcons have so many needs, and the Pats probably have the balls to do something if they want McFadden enough.
  20. If he gets in next year, his speech will be one of the greatest ever.
  21. I think he will be close. I don't expect as good, but I think he has all the potential in the world. If you were the Falcons and the Pats offered you Maroney and the #7 pick for the #3 pick and say a 2nd or 3rd round pick would they do it.
  22. And NE moving up a pick to #7. It must suck to be a Patriots fan.
  23. I would be good with that. I have been wanting to dump J. Jones all season. Not to mention a semi-man crush on Barber, he is a freaking beast.
  24. They really don't like the Brewers much, and having the Cubs as the Favorites in the NL is nice and maybe the highest odds to win the division that I ever remember seeing.
