  1. This is wrong. Sabean has decided this year he no longer likes old guys. Now he likes really bad young guys. He's trying to replace each of the old guys one by one. His list of bad young guys to replace old guys is quite lengthy. http://assets.espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/5523.jpgSays hello. I really don't think he goes to San Fran, I just think it would be funny. They just really have nothing at 1st what so ever. I'm going to stick with Tampa as my team of choice. Its close to his home town, he stays in the AL East, and they need someone healthy.
  2. I could almost see San Fran taking a look at him for no reason to ;-). They like old guys, he is old. They don't have a 1st baseman worth anything, he can still field well enough for one of the worst teams in baseball. He can hit a couple of ball into McCovey, and thats pretty much the only reason to go to a game this season out their. Tampa might be a good fit. Not sure if I would really want him on the team, but with Floyd on the DL and on the other injury problems they have had he could be of some use and for cheap too. Plus I am all for making the AL East a little more difficult.
  3. He'll find a job, but its still funny :D . Bye Bye $10 million option.
  4. 9 walks so far for the Cubs. I must say that I am very happy and proud.
  5. Thats good but the number of decommits seems to be on the rise every season. I always worry about a player committing too early, I'm sure USC will increase their signing bonus to him pretty soon. Other than that Congrats ;-).
  6. Fulham lost a chance to gain ground today. Going to need a miracle to stay above. Still have Man C, Birmingham, then Portsmouth. Still a win vs. Birmingham can change everything though.

    Week 3

If he played a position of higher demand then yes. However I don't see anyone keeping him on their roster at seasons end, and in the draft he is probably around a 5th round pick.
  8. Hello http://ickscorner.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/bevo.jpg
  9. Sadly they haven't. Last night the Ducks played the Stars in Dallas, tonight they play in Anaheim. Why they can't do this in basketball amazes me.
  10. Tell me about it. How is it that Boston is ready to move on to Ellsbury, and yet the Cubs can't wait to move Pie back to Iowa? Maybe because at least Ellsbury's OBP is close to .400. Also, the Cubs have shown no signs of wanting move Pie back to Iowa, if they did I'm guessing Lou wouldn't be working with him one on one. Man hyperbole is fun! And if the Cubs acquire Crisp, where do you think Pie will end up? If the Cubs acquired Crisp, I promise Pie will be back at AAA. He maybe should even though its not ideal. Ellsbury is a better prospect than Pie, and won't hurt the team even when he struggles at the plate with his OBP. If Pie doesn't hit he is invisible offensively right now. If the Cubs had a legit SS, going with Pie would be much easier to swallow through his struggles.
  11. Why he still has to decide the deal and sign his name. It was this or a year to year deal. Now he has plenty of security and almost $20 million. He might not be as greedy as Prince Jr. If he lives up to the hype he will have more than enough money.
  12. my guess is next year And will probably help towards only one AL East team making the playoffs this year. 80-85 wins this season would not surprise me one bit nope...next season will be nasty for them though as long as health is good... kazmir price shields garza neimann? that is a gross gross gross rotation if they could just land another outfielder they would be really intimidating Health is the single biggest concern.
  13. Lakers went 3-0 against Denver this season and Gasol played in 0 of those games too. Also humorous that Kobe isn't the best player in the series. I mean, he's the best player in the game. But he's definitely not the best player in the series. This is pretty much the only matchup I have a lot of confidence in picking. LA will win, and win easily. Is Odem the player in that series ;-)?

  15. "Is that it?!?" "Chad - this is your forum, what do you want to add?" "I don't know." "Chad, thanks for calling in and sharing with us." "Is that it?!?" "Chad, the floor is open, what would you like to say?" "I don't know" ... It was great! "What are you gonna do if the Bengals don't approve" "i'm, just gonna go out and embarrass DBs as usual" "But are you gonna keep quiet" "huh, yeah" "So, you're gonna keep quiet if they don't improve the team" "No. I'm not gonna change." Excellent. I wish the Cowboys could trade their 1st 1stRound pick, Crayton, and someone else to get Johnson. Johnson is 30 and would never be able to co-exist with T.O. I would rather send one of our first rounders to the Lions for Roy Williams, who is only 26 and IMO is better than Chad Johnson anyways. I actually diagree, think they would be more than capable of co-existing. I would much prefer to bring Roy back to Texas where he belongs :-), the Lions just have no reason to do it from what I see.
  16. The Jersey is racking in a lot of money, at least going to a good cause. Still should have waited till opening day next season to tell the yankees. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120248650648

  18. Damn, very unCub like. And I wish Chipper would text me too.
  19. Not with Lehmann in goal. Actually, how do the Arsenal fans feel about Almunia? I've read some not-so-favorable opinions of him and Wenger's choice to stick with him. I haven't seen enough of him or know enough either. Lehmann is old, but Arsenal love their old keepers I think Seaman was around 51 when he finally retired. I hear there is a keeper over here in the MLS who is looking to head over to Europe really soon ;-).
  20. the next CBA for the NBA will probably have Stern pushing that issue Yeah Texas with LaMarcus Aldridge, Durant, and Augustine would have been cool, not near as good as O$U but still. I have said it many times, I would like to see the NBA have a tiered rookie $ max. If you stay in college only 1 year you can only make so much, 2 years a little more, 3 years a little more, 4 years a little more.
  21. What is he, like 16 here? I imagine from 16 to 30 most of us are going to put on some pounds. Most of us don't have a $36 million contract to stay in shape. Gain weight is one thing, body fat is another.
  22. Chad Johnson today claiming he wants a trade before the draft. Not that its going to affect this.
  23. Nothing from Duke about winning. At least they are trying.
  24. I think I read that the Fire have started to offer some unused ADA seating areas to season tickets holders on a game-by-game basis in that price range, but aside from the club (midfield on the east side), tickets range from $15 to $45, which is midfield on the west side. Club may be only for STH. I'm not sure. Of course, the Fire still don't draw that well. They do have some lower priced ones, good seats will still run you $60 a piece. I'm guessing you could always just walk down after you buy the cheaper seats. When the target market is still families and kids though this doesn't seem to follow that plan.
  25. How much are tickets in Chicago? I was shocked to see FC Dallas has field seating and bleacher tickets at $150 and $125. Shouldn't the focus of MLS to be to sellout every single game. They only had 11,500 for the NY game last week but 20,000 for LA at the end of last month. LA only sold out cause of one reason too.
