  1. Thats a great 2 inning win after 8 innings of nothing. Its great to sweep with a walk off.
  2. .306 .397 .388 .785 before today. horrible
  3. I have enjoyed watching McBride in England as it is nice to watch an American have consistent success for many years at Fulham.
  4. In case anyone hasnt noticed espn classic every weekday at 5pm is showing an old Euro Final matchup. Today was 1980 West Germany v Belgium. Tomorrow the 84 Final, then 88 and so on. I love watching the old finals, getting to see Platini tomorrow will be great, then of course Marco Van Basten :-).
  5. I pretty much thought the game was over once I saw the starting lineups. Seriously for a match that actually saw a lot of hype for an international friendly, to field a team like that in Wembley is an embarrassment.
  6. Damn, I thought that was a picture of Anderson Cooper with all that grey hair he is sporting now.
  7. I'm fine replacing Brenley with Grace.
  8. Why won't they be able to afford him? They may not want to pay what he'll get, but they would definitely have the ability to afford him. Its not a question of affording him, is a question of a team in a constant rebuilding process, would they rather have one star player surrounded by mediocrity, or would the rather exchange him for a stable of prospects. I feel this discussion comes up at least once a week. They can build a good team around him. They have some young talent with Salty, Kinsler, Murphy and a couple of pitchers. They should be able to get a handful of decent prospects for Laird, Bradley, Blalock and Padilla/Millwood. Considering what they gave up to get and combine that with his numbers they have no reason not to keep him. If they don't keep him they better get something real good for him.
  9. Why does Wolff even have a passport to leave this country? I would like to see Donovan play, and not even come back to the states after the match. Well he can come back to play against Argentina, but thats it.
  10. What the hell is Corey's role now? Is he reduced to a pinch runner and defensive replacement for Dunn? That would be a pretty questionable use of a roster spot. I bet the ratio of starts for Patterson/Bruce ends up being 1/1. I hope Baker makes Bruce bunt tonight to move runners over and ultimately get nothing as a result.
  11. Except that no, it wasn't a fluke. It was terrible defending by Vidic and Rio. Vidic got a piece of the ball and it deflected off of Rio's back right into the path of Lampard, and that's not a fluke? That's just football. Goals like that happen all the time. Lucky, I guess, I just don't like people discounting them as if they shouldn't have happened. I was in a bad mood. Completely agree that that's just football, I'm not saying it shouldn't have happened just that Utd could've been 3-0 up early on, just like Chelsea could've been 3-1 up at FT. I understand your mood, re-hashing a CL final lost on PKs obviously isn't ideal. Thanks for the quick responses, I'm not on here daily and sometimes I feel like you guys are probably done talking about some of the things I come here to comment on. I think pretty much everyone here is ready to talk about all matches past, present, and future. Given this thread is 152 pages long only a few of us using it says something ;-). Anyways US/England tomorrow, follow by Euro's in the very near future :amen:
  12. She is really hot but one of the worst actresses on tv. I think the actor she is engaged to on that show is worse, but yeah she sucks. Though Patrick Warburton, David Spade, and Megan Price are great.
  13. So join them. I can't give too much info just yet, but I understand that Donovan is looking to make some upgrades to his home. I wish I could say it was a home overseas but I don't know much yet outside of that we are probably going to be getting the project. It helps that we also did one of Beckham's homes over in Europe, again I don't know which. Stupid confidentiality agreements ;-). Well of course, now that his wife is making CBS money and not WB money, they can afford to add on. Yeah that was part of the discussion when I mentioned he needed to head over to Europe regardless. People here actually thought MLS would pay better than Europe. Either way I don't care about her career :-).

  15. Yikes!! I would want no part of Miami at Miami this season. Tough break for Mizzou. I'm not liking Texas at Rice, but after winning the Big 12 tourney they are almost playing better now than the entire season. Either way I doubt they make the CWS again this year.
  16. not surprising. And Jose breaks the silence: Sacked Grant dubbed a 'loser' by Mourinho Ouch. I am pretty sure if I ever met Jose in real life I would end up wanting to break a bottle over his head. He just seems like a complete ass of a person.

    Week 9

The last two weeks I had a negative start in both weeks that cost me a win that I would have had, had I just scored 0 points. I think I see a trend I need to avoid.

Your probably going to want something fairly well offset, maybe even with a hybrid for the 3 and 4 irons would be my guess though I am nowhere near an expert. This might be similar to what Stitch was looking at. http://www.globalgolf.com/product/golfclub/-/pid--1001752/iron-set/adams/idea-a2.aspx?gd=2 yea, except A3s which include a third hybrid. not very macho but I suck enough to not really care. True, I really don't care for the hybrid clubs as I think they prevent from learning how to properly hit the long irons which are the most difficult clubs for most every golfer and I hate using 90% of the time. When looking at macho I would be more concerned about the ball getting off the ground than what club I used to do that :-).
  19. If Ned Yost thinks its a good idea, then I have no problem with the Brewers trying it.
  20. Also Lester just reviled that his father now has cancer, sad though he acts like its not real serious. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3411725

  23. I just think he feels that the whole world thinks they never paid attention to it in the past. I know, I know, the evidence suggests they didn't, and I've told him that. Things started to change, though in a serious way during the organization meetings in the fall of '06 (wow, after Dusty was gone!), when they really started to acknowledge the importance of OBP. This got me thinking, how easy is it to make massive improvements in keys areas in 1 year, however looking at a two year change. 2006 the Cubs were 2nd to last in runs scored, with a .268/.319/.422/.741 2008 the Cubs are 1st in runs scored, .286/.370/.450/.820 Considering only Lee and Ramirez remain in the starting lineup since 2006 its been a pretty big overhaul. Despite that we know Hendry has tried to make a few more moves that never happened.
  24. And what of those players is enough of an improvement over what Cleveland has to make them give up Westbrook? As much as I'd like Westbrook, this is one deal that isn't happening. And reading the article it states they are looking to make an upgrade, so why would they even trade Westbrook to begin with. Its like the Cubs looking to make an upgrade by trading Dempster for a couple of average players.
  25. I don't imagine the Indians becoming sellers this season with the way the AL Central looks. Like Vance mentioned he has a good contract that runs through next season where the Indians will be contenders again regardless of how this season finishes. If his contract was up after this season then I would say yes.
