  1. Everything in the NFL is lame compared to college football.
  2. Agreed. It's going to be a joke when it's a Penn State-USC title game. I still think a 1 loss Big 12 team will go ahead of USC. OU is currently ahead of USC in the BCS, should they make the title game and win they would stay ahead of USC If Texas loses against Tech tonight, Tech would jump ahead of USC and Texas might not drop below USC. Even if that happened and Texas made the Big 12 title game with 1 loss, that late season game would probably be enough to ensure they would still go ahead of USC. Penn State has to lose for USC to have any chance IMO.
  3. The ghost of Matt Millen lives!
  4. Hahaha I bet we could take Tulane. If Texas wins tonight I am becoming a Penn State fan for the rest of 2008. Am I the only one that didn't get this? If Texas wins out and Penn State loses, they would likely be playing Florida for the NC assuming they win out too. I want nothing to do with Florida. I don't blame you, but Penn State is kind of dependent on what other teams do at this point, sitting in third. Alabama could still run the table, and if Florida manhandles them they could still end up in the NC with one loss. I was just wondering why you wouldn't root against florida as opposed to for a team to beat them. I will, but I am just realistic. Penn State has an easy schedule the rest of the way. Iowa could cause some problems, but they should handle them. Alabama I think is less likely to run the table than Texas. I think Florida will beat them in the SEC Championship. I don't see an undefeated Penn State getting leapfrogged by a 1 Loss team. Its possible, but assuming Penn State stays #2 in the two main polls I doubt it will happen. That would leave too much ground to make up in the computer polls for a 1 loss team to manage especially with 3-6 other 1 loss teams in the mix.

  6. Baylor is much improved, but that should not have been so close.

  8. He's a very good passer, who knows how much of his passing efficiency is tied into his ability to run the football. He won't be able to do that in the NFL. He's not like Young, McNabb, Moon or Vick. He'll try to take on NFL linebackers and he will get banged up a lot. Someone will take a chance on him. He's got NFL arm strength and has nice touch on the vertical passing game. If it doesn't work out, he'd make it as a ****. f.u.l.l.b.a.c.k. is getting starred out? What the hell? I wonder if the offense that he plays in now will hamper his transition into the NFL though, similar to what Young has gone through. If he is allowed to sit back for at least a year or two before coming in it should really help him. I think most teams would take a chance on him if not all. Just how high can he go in the draft?
  9. He can still go to the Cards and win 15 games in 2009.
  10. How does Tebow project in the NFL?
  11. Looking back at it, it does sound creepy. That's what I get for watchign freakin Law and Order: SVU. As for his public persona, people want to call Nick, "Satan" and all these ridiculous statements about his character, but what people don't realize this guy is well respected among coaches (if not feared). Players and their families absolutely love Nick Saban because he is a straight shooter (the Miami situation was a lose-lose for him. He answer's those question and people think he leaves for Bama, if he doesn't answer then think he leaves for Bama, it was impossible situation, and he wanted to get the season over before he talked about his future at that time). I'm not saying Saban isn't without flaws, but Saban isn't this monster the media has made him out to be. This is why I defend Saban. People who don't follow Alabama football, or live in the state of Alabama they buy into the media perception of Saban that he is this money grubbing monster, which in reality is the furtherest from the truth. Nick Saban is a good man, prolly a better man then most---including myself---on this board. My question is: why is Saban criticizes still today for leaving the Miami Dolphins job AFTER THE SEASON, yet Bobb Petrino---after a brief Howrystorm---was basically given a pass for quitting on the Falcons DURING THE SEASON. So, I will defend Saban even if he does decide to leave for another school. Which is why I am perplexed at LSU fans (out of the view smart ones, like vance) Saban did more for LSU in 5 yrs then the previous coaches over the last 20 yrs. LSU was with the likes of Vanderbilt and Kentucky before Saban got there, and with Saban's help and recruits he help bring in, LSU has won 2 NT. People need to stop hating on Saban, and appreciate how great of a coach he is. I don't think people have a problem admitting Saban is a good coach. He just happens to be the biggest manwhore of a coach in college football. Not to mention he was pretty much immediately reported for recruiting violations the minute he stepped foot in Alabama, but this is really nothing new to Alabama. If he went to Auburn instead of Alabama you would not have the same opinion.
  12. these are awesome... for us to laugh at. if he wants to be a good head coach he shouldn't do things like this. I agree, I want him to become a good NFL coach but right now he is about the only entertaining story in the league. Its nice to have something new to listen to other than the usual three stories regurgitated every single week.
  13. I guess Arsenal are playing for the FA Cup and Champions League this year. The two games this week were terrible results.
  14. Texas Tech can control the clock? I don't know, usually I would say no but I keep hearing about their new found running game and OSU had a pretty good game plan even though Texas had chances and should have won by at least 14.
  15. Seems like pretty easy choices to me :-)
  16. I'm getting nervous on tomorrow's game and no longer going to Lubbock. Over/Under is currently at 72.5. I want to take the over, but both teams I think are going to try to control the clock a little more than usual. Texas only had 8 possessions against OSU last week.
  17. Worse than them squeezing their balls on National TV?
  18. I have never been able to spend more than 48 straight hours in College Station. Thank god the drive back to Austin isn't that long.
  19. I would love to have Heyward and Burgess together in the same system on the same team.
  20. The awesomeness of Singletary speeches continues http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3673441
  21. That's why I thought it was strange that Pryor went to OSU. $$$ Thought about that, but it seems like Michigan could offer him just as much as OSU could. I don't really know any reason, I just like to make fun of OSU whenever possible. If I had to pick a reason it would be because of OSU's basketball team too, though I haven't heard of anything about him trying to play as well.

  23. actually i would like to do this, let's see your comparison of team top to bottom of each conference - like rank each team in one conference from best to worst, and compare it with the team in the same spot from the other conference. Someone does that already. It's called the Sagarin conference ratings. He does two, one where the rating is weighted more to the middle teams of the conference and one where each spot in the conference is equally weighted. In the first, it goes Big XII, Big Ten, ACC, SEC, Pac 10, Big East. In the second, it goes Big XII, Big Ten, SEC, ACC, Pac 10, Big East. Confirming what I've been saying most of the year, the SEC isn't that good this year. Isn't Meph supposed to swear by Sagarin? It really is a down year for the SEC especially by their standards. The SEC West just isn't very good.
  24. And to think Brett Myers wife is probably still tied to the headboard as we speak.
  25. I am too. Thus, I watch Big XII football. It's a conference where someone picks a 45-24 score for OU/NU and I tell them both teams' scores are too low. It's a conference where a team can turn the ball over 5 times and still score 35 points. Me too. Or a conference where 6th best QB would be starting on every SEC team outside of Florida and Georgia (forgot about Stafford).
