  1. Does putting crap in a ziploc baggie actually work?
  2. I don't think X has considered Texas for a long time now. The Henry camp has said it's Memphis or KU. Doesn't matter. Texas got another nice class. Thats what I was reading, looks like his brother is going to Memphis so that would be my guess. happy with the Texas class though, especially considering where they are all coming from.
  3. The postseason has absolutely nothing to do with the voting. I know. Thats why I changed my post. Lou is living proof as to why it would be nice if they waited until after the World Series to choose a winner. He's not the first, and won't be the last to win like this.
  4. Not too bad for Texas today. If they could somehow grab Xavier Henry which seems unlikely now, that could give them the top class.
  5. that was my thought, too, especially since the wrigley renovations would seem to be far more expensive and time-consuming. Really? More expensive than dealing with permanent left field and right field bleachers, and not just one level, mind you. I doubt they'd have to do much of anything to the structure itself. right, it's not like they'd be moving fences back, needing to do something about seats. If they move fences in , say, 10-15 feet (I have no real idea), what really needs to be done other than moving the walls. If you give an MLB owner another 10-15 feet of space where you can put extra seating, they're probably going to take advantage of that. I think they would probably alter the lower bleachers so they could add a few more rows, but the extra ticket sales would probably pay for that over time. Your only going to have extra ticket sales if you are selling out games and then increase your ticket sales. I don't think they are or will be the next couple of years.
  6. How the hell was Maddon not unanimous in the AL, with 1 1st place vote going to Gardenhire. He was good, but no one beat Maddon this year.
  7. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8782170/Brewers'-veterans-could-be-dealt-for-pitching-help Christ Towers, why are you wasting time with the Braves, who are unwilling to include their top prospects when Hendry is basically willing to give up any prospect or prospect package, minus Samardzjia, who he is unable to due to an NTC. Because Towers doesn't care about which team is being nicer, he cares about getting the best players back. If a team's 12th best prospect is better than another team's 2nd best prospect, he's going to take the first team's 12th best prospect. There's a reason Hendry is willing to give up any prospect...because we don't have anybody good enough to be off limits. I think the longer this goes the better chance the Cubs have.
  8. Maybe we get the Royals to be the third team in a Peavy deal? Find a way to get Greinke to San Diego? I'd rather have Greinke that Peavy. I wouldn't go that far. Unless of course Greinke meant the Cubs spent big on the offense (Texiera, Manny). SD would be making out if they got Greinke in a 3-way deal for Peavy. Thats really the perfect 3 way deal for the Padres, if the Royals want to give us Dejesus for CF in the process that would be ok by me.
  9. I'd rather let Dempster walk and resign Wood if we get Peavy. I would to, but it sounds as if getting Dempster has taken priority over getting Wood (double entendre! YAY!) I'm not too sure I believe that. I worry about the depth of the pen should Wood leave.
  10. Real Madrid were knocked out of the King's Cup to a 3rd Division team Real Union with an agg of 6-6 :-))
  11. If/when we get Peavy, the board will crash. It'll make the massive user rush seen during the Nomar and Harden trades seem like peanuts. I was on vacation for the Nomar trade watching espn when they announced, I don't think anything can top that being the last minute deal it was.
  12. You can always appeal it and send in a tape to MLB.
  13. Wood pitching for the Mets would piss me off.
  14. I just read that ](*,) . Got my hopes up. Cooper will be in the squad, I'd bet on it. I'm glad that's not the final roster, because that is dog crap. That's a second rate MLS all star team. I kind of expect to see that for the game, he was the only name I was really looking for.

  17. I'm willing to guess that he has people, and he doesn't seem to be too shy to hold back his feelings.
  18. That was my initial thought as well.
  19. I would not mind getting Max Ramirez and moving him to 1st base. I have no clue how well he can handle it, but I love his bat ond OBP.
  20. I can understand how MLB wouldn't want Zell running the Tribune while owning an interest in the White Sox, but right now Zell doesn't own even a single share of the Tribune or the Cubs. He holds an option (warrants) to buy 40 percent of the Tribune. Zell controls both the Tribune and the Cubs. The rest is just legal technicalities. That said, Zell and MLB will do as they please just like they've always done. Should Cuban lose he may have a case for a law suit but he could probably never win it. If Cuban loses and raises enough hell, it could be the end of Bud Selig. I don't know if he personally would want to go through being that he seems to have 1 foot out the door already.
  21. Really? I've seen them both twice this year and came away liking Bryant better. Crabtree uses his physical tools better but also has a better QB. The only other guy who should be in the argument is Maclin, imo. But man, you're right about one thing - the Big XII is loaded with receivers. Some pretty damn good TE's too.
