I wish I was at home watching these right now. Would be cool to see Ireland go through. I think I am kind of glad to see the US defense get torn a part. Could be a good thing towards correcting things.

He is the anti-Cub: .321/.390/.460 as a rookie. After the all-star break .377/.423/.520. He absolutly deserved this award.

Thank God. For all of the social anxiety problems he has I am a little surprised he is able to marry a former Cowboys Cheerleader. I remember some of the stories about him when he was taking time off.

Last weeks injuries were worse than the actual loss. This game will say a lot about this team just in seeing how they rebound and beating a team that they should beat.

I'd love, love, love to have Stoops. Easily my #1 choice. You and me both. Over Urban Meyer? Or do you not consider him an option? I don't think there's any way Urban would leave UF. I would think Stoops is just as unlikely (if not moreso). Stoops has been under a little bit more pressure the past couple of seasons, if he was going to leave this would be the perfect season for him to do so. I think he is just going to use the thought of leaving to cut him a little slack from the boosters who will be scared of him actually leaving. Meyer has one of the best College or Pro football jobs in the country, no reason to leave.

Unless they go to the rose bowl they should not make the BCS. Good to know. Texas has no business in the title game if Cincy wins out either. Hard to disagree with that, and for TCU and Boise St too. What teams does Iowa legitimately deserve to go to a BCS game ahead of though?

They're not a "big name" though. TCU is going to get screwed this year, hopefully they beat Bama or Florida in a bowl game just to screw over the BCS. They deserve to have some #1 votes just as much as anyone else. Just a 4 team playoff with those 4 would be very entertaining. TCU really might be the most complete team in college football.

Better than Oregon State being down 44-19 to Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Life after the Barnes announcement (some people are taking this way to hard, he shouldn't have drug the announcement out like that, but dang) got off to a good start. Led by 20 at half over Idaho St, pushed it to 27 or so and let off the gas. This could be the make or break year for McDermott, and it's easily the best team he's had here. The offense can finally run, and they're 12 deep and tall (6'-7.4" is the average height of the starting lineup). Looking forward to a good year. Don't mess with the Islanders!

All in all it was a very underwhelming Friendly. The US was unlucky to get a goal in the 2nd minute. Casey and EJ should not be playing at all. Just as an experiment I would still like to see Torres up front with Altidore or between him and Donovan. He has the pace and delivery that can spring forward Altidore and even Donovan. I really like Spector, he has his chance. Hopefully he takes advantage. I really like the crosses that Rogers provides but he doesn't do a lot of anything else. The game didn't matter, and I am not even sure if Slovakia made tickets available to the public. Brazil v England now is interesting as England is missing over half of their starters due to injury.

I just realized Donovan is playing right now so he won't be playing tomorrow, and I have no clue to what the roster looks like for the game. I am guessing mostly European based with a couple who's MLS season has already ended.

Byrd as our 4th OF would not be a bad thing. No to him as an every day statrer though. -
So they got the ESPN #1, #13, and #19 player today. Not a bad days work.
