  1. How was Miles Austin not drafted. There is nothing he doesn't do well.
  2. Awesome, I love the FA Cup.
  3. That hit was brutal, what were your thoughts on the stadium?
  4. Who can, consistently? I don't know. I can see OU falling from grace (I lived through some rough years when in the pre-stoops era), but I don't see Texas ever falling from its perch at or near the top of the Big 12. They have a great campus, great city, great facilities, great recent history and one of the top 3 recruiting bases in america. The only team that's consistently good enough to challenge them is Oklahoma, and we've thrown up a couple of clunkers this decade, even though we've been at the top of our game. One of the best things that could happen for OU and Texas was Leach leaving TT. That was really the only program I could see challenging them in a significant way in the near-term and now it's very unlikely Tech will be as good as it has. OU and Texas are likely to go back to complete domination of the South for the forseeable future now. Don't forget about Texas A&M. Mike Sherman is slowly digging the Aggies out of the huge hole created by Dennis Franchione. I wouldn't be surprised by a 9 win season next year. Next season he needs to do well, texas is going to be sort of rebuilding and ou will also be a notch below normal. After that though both schools will be back where they want to be. He is isnt recruiting great classes yet so a 9 win season would be very helpful. He doesn't have a real big window to make big strides. Also for the record Leach is a complete Dbag as are many tech fans.
  5. Wait until you get inside. The Death Star is truly impressive. You gonna hang around for Cowboys-Eagles on Sunday? As big as it looks on tv, seeing it in person blows that away.
  6. Looking at the boxscore, I'm trying to figure out how OU is only up by 4.
  7. That would be a DAMN GOOD hire imo. Yeah they would not be any worse off. Though I wonder how much they are wanting to pay a coach. OleMiss you going to the Cotton Bowl?
  8. Mike Leach to Buffalo? ;) The thought of him telling TO to go sit in a utility closet is golden.
  9. I'd argue no when you consider the limited budget and other places we need help. Obviously Byrd is better, I just don't know for this team right now. That would mean Fuld becomes a full-time player. Probably end up around a .650-675 OPS, maybe not even that good. Compare that with the .800 OPS that Byrd will likely put up. 100-150 points of OPS is a lot. Sure Fuld's defense is better, but not nearly enough to compensate for the difference in OPS. Maybe, I'd think Fuld could be around 700. I definitely understand your point though. I don't know, I'd be more excited doing something with 15 million that moved Riot to 2nd and brought us a SS. Let's see where else the offseason goes to judge this move on the whole I suppose. Where's he hitting? 7? The 20 home runs seems to be the anomaly last year I too would have rather done something with 2B or SS, but when you have an organization that likes Theriot and is fine with a Baker/Fontenot platoon at 2B, there isn't much hope for addressing those positions. Were not doing anything with SS with Castro waiting, and Theriot will probably just slide over though he should be traded.
  10. Very interesting email's
  11. They might have around $350 million in Pujols, Carpenter, and Holliday very soon.
  12. Nebraska dominating Arizona s far. Hopefully a good sign for the Big 12, though the Pac 10 showing how weak they are this year.

Whats been pretty amazing with Leech is that he has done everything without really ever having a great recruiting class. I think OU will be ok without Stoops, but I do wonder what would happen. TCU might firmly overtake them should Stoops leave.
  14. Rugby? No thanks. Austrialian Football starts in March. I would love for them to show at least 1 game a week.
  15. Lubbock might be the most difficult place to play in the Big 12. Curious to see where he goes, guessing he finds a job very fast. I am not going to miss playing him at all. I'd like to see him go to an SEC school. I don't think any jobs will open (save for the weird situation in Florida), but it'd be interesting to see how his teams (high passing, little defense) would do in a defense-oriented SEC. What schools even have openings right now?

  17. Of course he hasn't said anything yet. This thing is headed to court. If he made the kid sit in a closet for any reason for several hours I don't see how he is going to win. In the age of the "timeout" punishment for kids, I don't see how that is a fireable offense. He detained a kid in a room and would not let him out for several hours. Not exactly sure why he should be able to do that regardless. Sounds like every test I took in college. haha =D>

I've mentioned this before but it seemed like over the years Leech started to act and even sound like Bobby Knight. I like Knight and all, but this seems like something he would do/go through.
  20. I generally watch it, but just because it's football. It's not football. It's semi-footballesque-ish. It's generally the closest thing to football we get after the Super Bowl. You could just watch real football instead of American football ;-)
  21. I'm guessing Illini fans would be happy to take him.
  22. Didn't see this anywhere, but Adu is going back to Benfica. http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/1614/americans-abroad/2009/12/29/1714465/report-freddy-adu-axed-from-belenenses
  23. Does anyone even watch this game anymore? I think I maybe watch the last 5 minutes of it every year but that's about it.
  24. http://www.sportingnews.com/college-football/article/2009-12-30/mike-leach-fired-texas-tech I'm curious as to why they were looking for an excuse. Something else must have happened prior to this given all they went through last year to keep him around.
  25. Trade was rejected as 4 of his illegitimate kids turned out to be Tiger Woods.
