  1. Pretty much my feeling. I think they win this week and lose next week.
  2. Did you see the Nike Combat gloves they were all wearing. If you look close you can see it. The Hawks aren't the only ones to wear these, but it's the first time I noticed it. McNutt was doing the same thing on the sideline when I noticed. There was a thread somewhere that showed all of the teams, new uni's and those gloves. The gloves were the best part of anything Nike was doing with all of the changes.
  3. You have to give me credit, I've been less obxious this year then I was last year. With that said, I haven't met a Longhorn fan who didn't think there team is entitle to win tonight's game. In fact 90% of Texas fans I've met have been some of the most obxious, ridiculously stupid, and simply flat out losers. But hey, I don't care cause tonight................13th is coming home. How many have you actually met?
  4. Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope you don't get it ;-).
  5. I'm excited but very cautious, starting to feel like a Cubs type team. Just need to figure out where to watch the game on Saturday, its going to be a great atmosphere everywhere.
  6. The answer to "what gives?" could be the strong possibility of a rookie salary cap being written into the new CBA beginning in 2011. This may be guys last chance to get big bucks with a rookie contract. While if he jumps back into the first round next year, he would still make more than he will this year, even if they do institute a rookie cap, but if he stays the same, he might cost himself a great deal of money. I'm not saying that has anything do to with it, but it might. That's also if there is football in 2011 or even a full season. Lockout has been a popular word this week, and might scare a lot of fringe prospects. I still think Snead should be a very good qb, but he will need to go the Aaron Rodgers route and sit for a couple of years. Snead is starting to remind me of Chris Simms except Simms was a much better college QB. Though I still believe Simms could be a successful NFL qb.
  7. Personally I am good with what we have in the minors.
  8. Awesome news. How does Larkin only get 51%?
  9. Great post. I agree. I think the 1st couple of years are a good deal for the Cards, but come years 4-7 its going to be a little more interesting. I think the issue is that a lot of us don't think Holliday will match what he did with the Cards last season, but mostly the impact it will have on the organization when Albert and Carpenter have new contracts as well. I don't think the deal is that bad I just see a day coming soon when the Cards have over $65 million tied into 3 players.
  10. Jim Edmonds dove on 82.6% of the balls he caught.
  11. I admit, I'm not unbiased here as a BSU fan, but I have no idea what game you were watching if you thought TCU was good offensively. They scored 10 points...they had really only one good drive. They had 36 rushing yards for the entire game. They had some success through the air, but they came out behind BSU in total yards. Both defenses played very well, and both offenses sputtered on the big stage. I don't know what you saw that you thought was "better". calm down, he meant going into the game. TCU's offense looked terrible, I don't know if Dalton was pressing or nervous but he was awful. The best player they had all game was their punter.
  12. Great, back to the team that didn't want him in the first place http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/hull_city/658634/TIGERS-LINE-UP-AMBITIOUS-FREDDY-ADU-BID.html Dumb and not true I'm sure. I click on that link at work and it gets blocked with the category of "tasteless". Soccernet also reports Greek side Aris Thessalonica who I have never heard of (currently 5th in the Greece).
  13. It might be a questionable selection, but the week before the playoffs start is hardly too early to start listing who you think the favorites are going into the playoffs. Written by a Baylor grad who worked for the Dallas Morning News. This is fueled more by the Saints and Vikings than anything the Cowboys have done.
  14. Holy crap, Jamaal Charles had 259 on 25 carries yesterday. Finished the year with 5.9 ypc.
  15. 4am meeting, or so I heard. Sheesh, if I was Zorn I would have requested a meeting following yesterday's game. I'm not getting up at 3am to get fired, just fire me now so I can get some sleep. Daniel Snyder is a complete joke.
  16. Unless Noel Devine declares, he is too fast for the Raiders to pass up. Could the Raiders go McCluster in the first round? McCluster's my hope for the Lions in the 3rd (after Suh, Iupati first two) You think McCluster will last that long? 2nd round seems the latest he'd stay, due to explosiveness and playmaking ability (and teams looking for another CJ). Iupati really should be the first guard off the board, I'd have to think in the first round. I think he is going to be more like a Sproles type of guy, but a mid to late 1st round pick should be where he goes.
  17. This should maybe get its own thread, but we may get to see Chris Johnson vs. Usain Bolt in a charity race. Not sure why outside of being for charity. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4794525
  18. So the same player (Bernard Pollard)who landed on Brady when he blewout his knee landed on Welker yesterday.
  19. Unless Noel Devine declares, he is too fast for the Raiders to pass up.
  20. rematches like this suck. I hating having to beat a team 3 times in a season, and Reid is a badass coach. Luckily the Eagles have some big holes that play to the Cowboys strengths, but still I am worried.
  21. The Panthers are the only team in the history of the league to have two 1,100-yard rushers this year and also went 8-8, so I guess you and I are kindred spirits in the 'insane rushing numbers with little to show for it' regard. Yes, though I, as I'm sure you would as well, would agree to trade the rushing record for a playoff spot, though. :) That's just more reason, to me, why it's silly to evaluate a football player on how many winning seasons or super bowl rings he has. CJ, Stewart and Williams are now worse because their teams were bad. It's generally only QBs who get this stigma attached to them (i.e. Brady is better than Peyton because Brady has 4 rings and Peyton has 1), but I occassionally hear it with other players as well. It's silly. I know he's Tom Brady and all, but he even gets a ring for losing in the Super Bowl? Probably still can't believe the Giants won. I know I can't.
  22. Holy crap, both ACL and MCL? Ouch. Yep, I would scream like a pansy.
  23. Didn't see this earlier, but Welker has a torn ACL and MCL in a meaningless game.
  24. Finally!
  25. Deshawn Jackson is not any better. It does annoy me too, like the LB pounding his chest tackling a RB after a 5 yard gain.
