  1. They could have just thrown out the U-20's instead today.
  2. It's always been a joke. The chances of me actually watching it during the off week as opposed to the week after the superbowl are much much higher. In other words, if I flip past it I may watch for a few minutes. Correct. In theory it's an ideal place to put the pro-bowl. The conference that wins gets the home team in the Super Bowl and gets to call the coin toss  I wish baseball would do something like that.
  3. He does look really smart when he is wearing glasses.
  4. If that can happen that would be great. Why does this happen as he is begining to peak though?
  5. Anyone see the interview last night with Orgeron? He looks like a complete douche.
  6. Also Cutcliffe has officially withdrawn from consideration. Your coach is staying Vanilla Ice and chuckywang. This has been the craziest offseason I can remember for college coaching.
  7. So where is Leach now in this whole thing again?
  8. I know, right? Who wants to see stuff where people compete based on time or other tangible factors. I'd much rather see a panel of judges score the participants arbitrarily. Basically, if it's not a race or curling, it's a waste of time. Which is like 80% of the Winter games. That's really not that much different from the Summer Games.
  9. Bob Stoops to Tenn is now a popular rumor on Orangebloods.com. All of these rumors seem to be going in full circle now.
  10. This will probably be the norm in the Big 12 this season. They need to sweep this pair against OU and Nebraska. That three game stretch with KU, OSU and A&M is brutal. Road games in the Big 12 are going to be pretty brutal this year.
  11. So Tuberville fired Ruffin McNeal who was one of a finalists for the Tech job and a long term coach at the university. He is probably the most loved coach they had, and a very popular figure with all of the players. I'm a little surprised by this, but it happens all of the time.
  12. I was just reading that. If accurate, does that mean Calhoun? Or is the #2 candidate still in doubt? Late last night he said through a spokesman that he hasn't interviewed with anyone and that he has no intentions of interviewing with anyone and is very happy in Austin. I have also heard he got a nice raise when Brown got his back in December. The simple fact that it hasn't happened yet makes me think he won't take the job. I agree with Dew that time should be strongly considered. Outside of someone like Leach or somehow Stoops, there is not a whole lot separating the other guys. Something needs to happen soon, before this weekend. Wouldn't be surprised to see it happen today.
  13. That's interesting, sure your happy about that. I'm still looking for word that Muschamp is 100% out of the running :-). I've actually heard that Brent Hubbs (Volquest Rivals head guy) is reporting that conversations are still ongoing between UT and Muschamp. I still want Leach, but I have no idea what rumors are accurate at this point. Confirmed. Everyone at Texas (except Muschamp) is denying his interest, but he is Tennessee's first choice. There are two major points of contention and there is the question of whether or not Muschamp wants to leave. But he is currently still option #1. There is so much info coming out right now, and it's very hard to figure out which is accurate and which is not. Multiple people I trust very much are coming out with supremely conflicting information, so I think it just shows you that no one really knows much right now. SO much rumor and innuendo, and it is almost impossible to figure out who knows what at this point. That supports an ESPN article I read also. Though the longer this takes the less likely Muschamp is the HC for Tenn. They have to move quickly, and if Cutcliff can be had they should pounce on him before too much recruiting damage can be done. Just guessing but if they don't sign Muschamp tonight I don't think it happens.

  15. What a scumbag. That's just not acceptable. I read that this morning on the espn bottomline, and thats a complete joke. There needs to be something against that.
  16. Yeah this would suck, though I know its going to happen sooner rather than later. Rumors were talking about Hicks and Jeffcoat committing very soon (some about Hicks committing to Texas and other about his committing to Ohio State). And Brown is not going to retire for probably another 5 years. Why can't they want Greg Davis instead. I do like Tennessee though, and if he goes there hope he has a ton of success. I'm curious as to the staff he would assemble too. Wonder if he would try to take Major Applewhite as the OC or go with someone who has more experience. The latest I've heard is that Muschamp will release a statement today that he's not interested in the job. The source also said he'll be replacing Mack sooner than some thought. Apparently Mack has given Boom more responsibility in recruiting this year and will give him more responsibility in practice for the upcoming season. And yeah, there's a lot of buzz that Hicks will commit to Texas in the next day or so. I'm optimistic about Jeffcoat now that Florida has told him they don't have a scholarship for him. Unless something happens, it looks like it's down to Texas and OU with him visiting OU next week. edited for clarity Some rumors that Hicks and Jeffcoat have been talking about committing to play together, and Jeffcoat did cancel his trip to UF too. That would be phenomenal to get them both. I'm just hoping for one. I thought Jeffcoat committed to UF this past week? Pretty much the opposite. He canceled he official visit to UF, and doesn't appear to be going out there at all.

If Dodds is saying this then I will believe it to be true. If he stays this time then I think he has a pretty good idea on when Brown is going to retire and your right it would be sooner rather than later.

  20. http://www.wbir.com/news/breaking/story.aspx?storyid=110451&catid=29 yikes Ok this is funny
  21. Lots of talk on the Texas boards too, though I am guessing most everything they are saying is coming from the Tenn boards. Espn guy mentioned Dave Cutcliff as a guy who would make sense too. All of this is happening so damn fast. I'd love Cutcliffe, but I don't know if the reception for him would be great. It'd be like re-hiring Fulmer, probably. Mentioned it more for the comfort level it could bring after getting burned by Kiffin. Similar to what I think you mentioned earlier. The Tenn AD has to be on edge. Of course Muschamp has no experience so I doubt he would be very likely to burn them either.

  23. Because he's quirky and has controversy around him. Enough people here were pissed at some of the things Lane did that I think Hamilton would be way too cautious about bringing in another "controversial" hire. Leach would come if Tennessee was interested, I just don't think UT will show enough interest. I can't express how much I hope I'm wrong, though. I would love to see Leach in the SEC just to see how it worked out.
  24. I like the winter games more for the random events that we don't really see except for once every 4 years.
  25. He'd be a solid choice and it's being reported that they're interested. Not as good as Leach, but solid. Crap I hope not, though its just a matter of time. Not completely sold on him as a head coach either though, although for the same reasons Carroll was successful at USC. Its one of those styles that could go either way.
