  1. Even if they moved baseball they could still schedule many out of conference games in Texas against all of the regular Big XII opponents. If the Big XII falls apart where does that leave the rest of the athletic department. Personally I would want everyone to go if such a move were to happen. I also think it would help the football program from a recruiting standpoint and out-of-state enrollments to be in the Big 10.
  2. Overall they have a lot, but compared to the football program they have very little. However baseball has a sweetspot being the most dominate sport at the university. The AD does seem to take all of the programs very seriously from tennis to volleyball to swimming/diving. They won't make the move just for the better good of the football program. I would love to see this move force the school to adopt a Men's Soccer program since Title IX killed that in Texas as a whole.
  3. I honestly don't remember when it happened, but from what I have read they had a huge play on who got in to the Big 12 conference. I am becoming more interested in this with everything I read. Texas athletics already does great financially, but this is too much not to at least take a long hard look at. I do think the UT Athletic Director has the balls to make this move and sever some long relationships.
  4. It's a form of football in the NFL offseason, so I'll watch. Find a way to watch Australian Rules Football instead :-).
  5. It's not like the Big 12 is that traditional. more so conferences being built around geography.
  6. probably the same thing, but here it is in the Dallas news. I wonder how many other schools would follow leaving traditional regional conferences. Still have to think its a long shot from ever happening, but that would be huge for the Big 10. http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2010/02/report-big-ten-conference-in-prelimary-t.html
  7. Here are my keepers as I can't drop the rest on CBS. 8. FOX FOX for real. Joe Buck and Robbie Earle in the box? HD on FOX....they could put Buck and effing Aikman in the booth and it wouldn't bother me. Seriously, this is going to be the best summer of soccer ever. I was thinking bring John Madden out of retirement.
  9. That made my day. Is it this year's that it's going to be on a weekend? Wait, like FOX FOX? Ive been against the whole Fox getting the Champions League, but this is very nice. Especially on a Saturday. Thats going to pull in some huge ratings when it already does well on a Wed. afternoon.
  10. Really, its telling me that you are not allowed to do add/drops while the draft is underway. Which is also strange.
  11. Just to verify, we can't drop any players from our roster right now, only select who we will be keeping?
  12. Fro the 1st time since 2006 I am not scheduled to open the season vs. Tim :-).
  13. So when are we planning on the prospect draft?
  14. Still planning on the end of the month I am assuming/hoping.
  15. To be fair that's every night in New Orleans.
  16. He's been perfect, first time in a long time I have noticed any ref having a great game. We need him to officiate the US matches in the WC. Chec has made two great saves today.
  17. It won't happen but Arsenal could use Guzan too. It works great against the lesser sides but against the big 2 Arsenal make to many lateral passes.
  18. That pretty much dead on. They need a left back too. Bradley would be perfect. They need a Roy Keane in the back.
  19. Apparenty Arsenal have never seen a counter before. If Wenger doesn't change up his backline he may never win another trophy.
  20. They shoot FT worse than Memphis did two years ago.
  21. Good article from Grant Wahl on the whole Terry:Bridge Harkes:Wynalda stuff and the effects on the '98 team. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/grant_wahl/02/05/john.harkes/index.html?eref=sircrc
  22. Should be a good matchup for Donovan too.
  23. I think if Washington passes on him then you have to draft him and sign him.
  24. And Terry gets dropped as Captain today. No surprise there.
  25. Good move for him if he is healthy. 1 year deal, on a solid team, in a pitchers park could set him up well for his next contract.
