The 2009 class was the best in the country for OL. Mason Walters should be healthy this year which will be huge, plus Ashcroft and Porter too and Espinoza from the 2010 class.

I don't think free agency is going to work since we still have the major league phase of the draft coming up. I recall in NSBB keeper league where we did the prospect draft but this was done after the June draft in order to have some sort of order since we have no idea when cbssports was going to add players to the pool...this made it a free for all. My suggestion is don't have prospect draft until after the 2010 June draft. Any players on the MLB or minor league rosters are up for drafting in our major league phase of the draft whether they are on the cbssports database or not. For example, Aroldis Chapman is currently a free agent while Shelby Miller of STL is not on the database. If owners are inclined to pick these players during the major league phase of the draft then they can. However, Bryce Harper cannot be drafted since he has not been drafted by any team. We didn't have a prospect draft last year, thus the reason we are now doing it at the beginning of the year. It was set up was that all players in the last years amateur draft were not available to be picked up preventing the free for all. In fact I think we had a freeze on adding players to the minor league roster at that point as well using just a draft process to add players rather than simply adding players once they became available. I think the current process works the best as we still have to take into account players signing, being added to the database, etc that waiting until June doesn't work as well as it does at the beginning of the season. Plus it really doesn't matter if you add a recently drafted player until now anyways as he won't attribute any points a couple of months after being drafted.

What's with with champs league scheduling this year. Half of the round of 16 plays this week, the other half plays next week. I don't remember them doing this before this year? Sounds like something David Stern would do. Guess it's beneficial for actual league play.

You know, I was a student there in the mid-90s and I can't believe how much that school has grown. They've always been a reputable school academically (especially the business school) and the football and baseball teams have a rich history, but it's only in the last decade that they've reached elite status as a school. This isn't really relevant to the topic, but I didn't really notice this until all the Texas --> Big 10 talk. I think if any real changes have happened its been mostly to the graduate programs or simply more recognition to what they already had. They have also always had one of the better engineering schools. On the grad level, their Law and Medicine is also very highly ranked.
