  1. Apparently Chicago submitted a terrible bid after being too consumed by the olympics, but does Chicago seriously need a bid? It's the biggest city with a centrally located stadium. US Soccer is based here. They play in Soldier Field all the freakin' time. Nashville holds the record for attendance for WCQ'ing. It's one of the biggest, non Disney tourist destinations for Europeans for some reason. It's a market that deserved a host game. Indy has a new stadium that meets FIFA standards and its located in between the Ohio & Illinois markets. I had no idea it was that popular for Europeans. Makes more sense now.
  2. I'm depressed about this slap in the face, but I personally don't think the USA will win the bid to host anyways. I think they will get 2022 with England getting 2018. Its just way to much money for Fifa to pass up.
  3. Absolutely He definitely is. He has been blessed with unbelievable talent around him, but two MVPs, a bunch of Super Bowl appearances, and he holds a number of the top passing records in the playoffs. Regardless of the talent he makes the plays any chance he gets. His playoff efficiency is unreal.
  4. Sol Campbell intends to signs with Arsenal today. They need healthy bodies, and help in the back but we will see how much he can actually help them.
  5. Apparently Chicago submitted a terrible bid after being too consumed by the olympics, but does Chicago seriously need a bid? It's the biggest city with a centrally located stadium. US Soccer is based here. They play in Soldier Field all the freakin' time. And its not like that list is finalized, as all 14 cities won't host matches. Then again nothing the USSF does surprises me anymore. I would blame Gulati even if its not his fault.
  6. Curious to hear an exact reason. I understand the other cities that didn't make the cut, but Chicago seems to have everything needed to handle such an event. Also I wouldn't consider Indy or Nashville either.
  7. After "Bob Stoops is going to be ND's coach tomorrow", I take anything Schefter ever says about college coaching with a metric ton of salt. Especially when no one else is reporting this. And thats one of those names that you could throw out there and people will believe it because it could make sense. They are going to have to over pay for a coach who will have no idea what he is walking into 3-6 months from now.
  8. There are differences between McClain and Kindle, though. Kindle's a 3-4 outside rush linebacker from what I've heard, McClain (though he played in a 3-4 at Bama) would fit either. Need could bump Kindle ahead of McClain, potentially. Unless he has a huge combine, I don't really think Spikes will go ahead of McClain. Possible, but he's one of the most unlikely guys I listed. Thats right on Kindle, though he could play middle. I think he would be better on the outside though. Kindle is one of those guys who should have a great combine just because of his athleticism.
  9. Thats awesome. Why would any real coach take that job until they know what's going to happen to USC?
  10. I'm settling on either McClain or Jason Pierre-Paul as my hopefuls for the Titans to draft (assuming no stunner happens like Berry or Haden). I really, really like McClain. I don't know if McClain will fall outside of the top 5. There's only so many picks in the top five. I've heard Suh, Berry, Okung, Gerald McCoy, Bradford, Clausen and McClain all will not fall out of the top 5. I don't know that McClain will be there for the 16th pick, but one of he or Brandon Spikes should be there and I like both of them quite a bit. I could see McClain falling outside the top 10, honestly. With Suh, Berry, Okung, Gerald McCoy, Bradford, Clausen, Dunlap, Tebow (Raiders), Dez Bryant, Spikes, Mays and Kindle all possibilities for the top 10, there's a real chance McClain may be available in picks 11-16. Not likely, but certainly possible. I don't know that Dunlap, Spikes, Tebow or Mays will be top 10 guys (Mays might fight his way back after blowing up the combine). Spikes is behind McClain and Kindle when it comes to linebackers. Dunlap has his legal issues. Tebow is Tebow. And Mays, while a great athlete, still struggles to play safety (now that's a Raiders pick). But these are my opinions on the value of these players, not taking into account teams and needs. Meph disagrees with you.
  11. I'll help, doesn't matter.
  12. Between Peterson and Favre I am hoping we will win the turnover battle.
  13. Saturday 1/16 works for me. Yep, and I will be in Austin for it too :-). Luckily Texas is pretty good at home.
  14. Good to see that from Algeria.
  15. I put this in the wrong thread, but Earl Thomas is going pro. This is a very defensive class year, more so than any I can remember in some time.
  16. They might be favored too. they are not. Sat 1/16 Arizona Cardinals @ New Orleans Saints -7 (O/U 56.5) Sat 1/16 Baltimore Ravens @ Indianapolis Colts -6.5 (O/U 45) Sun 1/17 Dallas Cowboys @ Minnesota Vikings -2.5 (O/U 46.5) Sun 1/17 New York Jets @ San Diego Chargers -9 (O/U 42.5) The bookies really don't like the Jets.
  17. Next week you will be able to visit the trophy at the Golden Corral, anyone wearing camo will be allowed to take a picture with it too.
  18. They might be favored too.
  19. So what % the population owns double-wides in Alabama?
  20. Rodgers-Cromartie int for a td.
  21. This means Texas will probably lose this week. They have never liked being #1 for more than a week the few times it has happened this decade. UConn is two weeks away so it could happen then.
  22. Come on Overtime!
  23. Now Adebayor says they are leaving the country and the tournament. This whole thing is a mess. I almost wish more countries would follow or they would just cancel the tournament all together.
  24. Seemed very loud the last 3 minutes after Ware created the fumble.
  25. LOL. You never fail to disappoint. They might not even be eligible for a bowl game next season anyways. Is that crappy defense even going to be any better? Though the Pac-10 can't be any worse than this past season.
