The A's won the bidding, but he hasn't put pen to paper yet. Considering what they spent to negotiate with him, the A's should get him. Yeah I knew that, I just remember DiceK's negotiation went down to the wire too. They must very confident that he will sign.

The captains will be determined by the ASG players voting. Should be interesting. I see, I was somehow under the impression that the top 6 were going to be split up by conference, I guess I just read that into the article. One thing that I have to agree with the NHL about is that they try to make the All Star game work. It will never be that great of a game, but at least change how to market it is kind of cool. I think the idea is really cool. They need a 30 minute special just toward the captains picking players. I wouldn't mind if they picked the all-star representatives then the day of the game have the two captains pick their players and have them skate to that side right before the game.

It would really suck if Auburn plays in the title game, some of this stuff is found to be true while TCU or Boise St are left out.

Wait a year for him to be a FA since we will probably not be winning the WS next year and keep every player that you mentioned. Sign Dunn and Wood. If you have to have a SP look for someone like Bedard or Sheets until the kids in the minors are ready.

I think we need to heavily promote this term until becomes a known word throughout the Internet. The only time I seem to talk about skyballing is here though. I dont know any skyballers away from NSSB Maybe start by creating a Wiki page for the term.

Pretty much my thought, but if we help drive up the price of Lee to the Yankees that would be ok -
He was also born into the sport and been given numerous opportunities to be a completely underwhelming coach. Not sure he needs any pity. The reason I feel bad is that he has always been talked up by the players for being a great players coach, yet the players completely quit on him. I am glad he is gone though and bet he is glad its over with.

Jones needs to fire himself while he's at it. Jason Garrett is reportedly the interim. Yep. Situation is not good for Garrett either who will be replaced at the end of the year barring some miracle.
