  1. HE'S A PITCHER FOR GOD'S SAKE That's getting pretty damn old.
  2. http://www.pitchingclips.com/videos/wainwright-curve-freezes-beltran.gif That is just a filthy, filthy curve.
  3. Stone Cold Steve Austin is coming back!!!
  4. Monday- King of Queens, Prison Break, 24, and RAW.
  5. Found a video of Reyes: http://www.letstalkpitching.com/images/anthony_reyes_back_side.gif Notice how he lifts with his elbows instead of his hands. There is no evidence that this kind of arm movement would lead to an arm injury, but in my opinion, I would not teach anybody this kind of movement due to the fact it puts extra stress on the elbow. http://www.letstalkpitching.com/images/mark_prior_open_side.gif
  6. That just sounds like excuse making 101. Could it be Cedeno was not ready yet? Cedeno should only blame himself for his play last year. Putting the blame on another person for your poor play is bush league.
  7. If the Mets acquire some pitching, then they look like the team to beat in the NL. Marshall for Milledge? I dont think the Mets would bite on that. After all, their asking price for Milledge at the break was Barry Zito.
  8. C- Martin 1B- Helton 2B- Figgins 3B- Wright SS- Peralta OF- Rios OF- Swisher OF- Cuddyer Utility- Atkins BN- Byrnes BN- Renteria BN- Monroe BN- Castillo BN- Victorino SP- Carpenter SP- Matsuzaka SP- Haren SP- Prior SP- Willis SP- Buehrle P- Wainwright CL- Jenks
  9. Alright then, I wont be posting this kind of stuff if you're going to say its not worth it. I thought it would be a good baseball discussion, but I guess thats not what you're supposed to post in this site then.
  10. http://turntwo.mlblogs.com/photos/dodger_series_pregame/anthony_reyes_practices_in_the_pitfield_.jpg http://www.chrisoleary.com/projects/Baseball/Pitching/Images/Examples/Example_Pitcher_AnthonyReyes_2006_048.jpg http://www.chrisoleary.com/projects/Baseball/Pitching/Images/Examples/Example_Pitcher_AnthonyReyes_2006_007.jpg I thought Prior was the worst elbow lifter in the game. Reyes is going to have an extremely hard time staying healthy with those upper body mechanics. It would be a shame to see his career filled with arm injuries, because this kid has alot of ability to become a very dominant pitcher in the game.
  11. Im pretty sure that guy in the middle is not Kerry Wood.
  12. Is Sammy actually trying to hit the ball to the right side of the field for once? His swing must be pretty slow right now, because Sammy is a dead pull hitter.
  13. I know you weren't honestly comparing the talents of Carlos Delgado with Jason Marquis. Florida is well versed at spinning off talented players for prospects. The Cubs are not, even though they SHOULD be, considering the amount of times they finished in the bottom half of their division. I would have taken George Kottaras off of the Padres hands for Maddux. Ethier, Kemp, Loney, Guzman, Delwyn Young, Andy LaRoche, Scott Elbert, etc..... The Dodgers played hardball with Hendry one too many times, and Hendry let Colletti walk all over him again on the Maddux deal. Simply amazing. Let us count the ways: 1) Outbid Hendry on Furcal, the only player Hendry wanted that offseason. 2) Signed Nomar, who Hendry had basically kicked to the curb. Nomar went on to have a stud-like year.3) Cubs need for an outfielder like Milton Bradley had Dusty flying out to LA to meet with Bradley personally. Colletti traded him to Oakland instead. 4) Maddux for Izturis. 5) Signed Kenny Lofton, who would have been better than Pierre at nearly half the price. Where was Nomar going to play if the Cubs decided to re-sign him? The OF, probably. With his history of leg injuries, I would have been amazed if he would have stayed healthy an entire season if he played the OF in 06.

  15. The Dodgers were not going to give up any of those guys you mentioned for Maddux.
  16. Barrett can not play every game at catcher and that's the reasoning behind it. I'm for Barrett playing 3rd if and only if Ramirez is hurt and Barrett needs a day off from behind the plate and he's the best option. If the Cubs have a Macias type guy to play third I'd rather have Barrett there instead. Now, if the Cubs can put DeRosa at third and Theriot at 2nd and give Barrett the day off, that I'm for. When was the last time Barrett took a groundball over at 3B? I would rather have a guy like Theriot manage that position than having Barrett risking injury at 3B.
  17. So there's nobody in the majors who struggles with control and walk guys? I never said there was not pitchers who struggle from time to time with their command. But what seperates big league pitchers from the majority of minor league pitchers is the ability to change and locate their pitches consistently. Those who do not throw strikes consistently enough, will have a hard time getting to the big leagues.
  18. There's a big difference between a manager who wants something and a manager who will enforce something. Each manager enforces their pitchers to throw strikes. If they dont throw strikes, they wont be pitching for them anymore. Huh? You would be confused. I'm often confused by nonsensical rambling. If you don't throw strikes, locate your pitches, change speeds, and change the eye level of the hitter, you will NOT be pitching for any big league manager. Simple enough? It's simple in that it's not true. If what you're saying is true, there wouldn't be any bad pitchers in the majors, and that's just not the case. How is it not true? Each MLB pitcher had to show the abilities I said to get to where they're now. If they did not show those abilities, they would not be in the big leagues.

  22. Never was a big Todd Walker fan. I would have rather seen the Cubs keep Grudz than let Todd play 2B.
  23. Im pretty sure every manager wants their pitchers to throw strikes consistently. It's not like this is a whole new strategy Lou is trying to work with. Though, I am happy to see Lou actually make these comments public.
  24. I love team baseball. AKA, small ball.
  25. Yeah, though the slider probably was the pitch that doomed him.
