  1. do they not sell razors in wisconsin? or is it required to look as disgusting as possible?
  2. I also found that quote pretty funny considering we owned them last year.
  3. yah my grandpa actually told me that minor league thing when i was about 10...smart move by the cubbies to not build a farm system
  4. season is over in march!!!!! maybe next year
  5. cmon bruce pearl do ur usual choke job
  6. at least he didnt go to the SEC. although he did go to the big 10 school whose education most resembles the "education" the SEC schools gives their students
  7. the big 10 is pretty awful this year. wisconsin is our best team? wisconsin is good but as usual has no chance of being great. hopefully the conference can bounce back next year.
  8. Big Ten officials are ineptly embarrassing. That was just incompetent. they made the right call it looked like, not that it matters anyway. minnesota isnt going to score and get the ball back in under 5 seconds.
  9. felix jones is inferior to mendenhall. give me a break. Mendenhall is bigger stronger and faster. Just because he isn't from the SEC doesn't mean hes not as good.
  10. hes got more talent than any WR the bears have had in 3 years, but the problem is his work ethic. not a bad deal since he was signed to such a cheap 1 year contract. hopefully this is a wake up call for him and he puts together a good year
  11. No, going by what I saw from Felix Jones.........HERE IN THE HEART OF SEC FOOTBALL. I like Meddenhall, but he isn't in the same class with Jones. Had it NOT been for the presence of Darren McFadden, Jones could have easily rushed for 1800 yrds, and without a doubt would had been the Heisman winner. In layman's term....Felix Jones is a better pro prospect, IMO, then Meddenhall, who has only one good yr to his name. The only reason why Jones is considered a low first rd, high 2nd rd pick (if he there when the Bears pick in the 2nd rd, they would be FOOLS to not take him, if they are planning to draft a RB) is because he had to split time with McF. oh so he was in the SEC? he must be awesome then! take a look at mendenhall's stats from the previous year, he didn't just have one good year. Mendenhall was the go to guy on a superior team last year. ill take him over jones. EDIT: it is also much easier to put up real impressive stats when your splitting time or a backup, so i wouldn't takes felix jones stats at face value. mendenhall had over 8 YPC as a backup
  12. here come the hawks!!!!
  13. What? Watch some video. I've watched plenty of video, I've seen the guy quite a bit (thank you Big Ten network for letting me see just about every Big Ten game this year). Mendenhall has an excellent burst and is very fast -- great acceleration. But he's not great at making guys miss or shedding good tacklers. Tacklers in the NFL hit hard and fast, and if Mendenhall can't make guys miss, well, he'll be a faster Benson. I realize that you all are UI homers, but seriously, watch how upright he runs. I'm not saying he won't be a solid RB; but he's no AP. lol he doesn't even run upright compared to guys like mcfadden or AP, who don't know how to bend their knees. and hes great at breaking tackles and making people miss. your description of him is about as far from reality as they come, i mean hes not the most elusive or instinctive guy but to say he doesn't break tackles well? cmon he broke tackles from guys who are gonna be pro bowlers in 5 years against USC
  14. Absolutly nothing left at WR. Horrible planning by Angelo. Make no mistake, 2008 is a rebulding year. Angelo has done nothing wrong with WRs this offseason. There was no one out there anyway, unless you want to overpay grossly like the vikings did for berrian. i don't see how 2008 is rebuilding just because we don't have bernard berrian, he wasn't that great...
  15. That's surprising considering how successful he was in college. Don't listen to Mike Mayock about this one. That guy has a vandetta against McFadden for some reason. I love Mendenhall but if you gave me the choice of either, I'd take McFadden without much thought. yeah i have a hard time believing that the guy was running about 6 yards a pop without breaking some tackles. His high rushing average is due in large part (at least in my opinion) to his breakout runs he'd get alot. I get to see a good bit of SEC football down here and it seemed to me like McFadden's rushes would go something like 2 yards, no gain, 7 yards, 2 yards, 18 yards, 1 yard, -3 loss, 28 yards, 70 yards, 2 yards, etc. He depended totally on his speed and would rarely bowl over people, like Peterson (uber-stud), or juke people out of their shoes, like Bush (a bust). He seemed to just take off and people wouldn't be able to get a hand on him. With the speed the NFL seems to have at LB these days, I don't think he's going to get those big runs like he got in college. the nfl doesn't have 4.27 speed at linebacker. The nfl has linebackers that are a lot faster than college linebackers, which will make mcfadden's speed a lot less of a factor. Like olemiss said, mcfadden was successful a lot in college because of explosive speed and good vision. I'm not sure his style will translate well into the NFL since he runs upright and not many upright runners are successful unless they are big strong backs(like AP), which mcfadden is not.
  16. It's not a real good comparison though. You can't just look at a guy and go "he's ripped, he's more intimidating." What will intimidate the hell out of teams is a running back posting up 250 yards against them. Much more so than a guy who has better muscle definition. That said, I think Mendenhall is very good. But McFadden is a slightly better prospect, IMO. the problem with mcfadden is if he couldn't break leg tackles in college, the odds of him breaking many tackles in the pros are pretty low. no one should kid themselves and think mcfadden has strong legs.......he almost always went down as soon as his legs were hit in college
  17. gordon's dad shouldn't be discussing any moral issues. doesn't he work for sales in a pharmaceutical company? in other words he makes his living stealing sick people's money with overpriced drugs. cant wait for his son to be sitting on some NBA bench next year so we can stop hearing about them!
  18. Dexter Jackson of App State had a 4.27 as well
  19. What is wrong with making Pie earn something? Honestly if he can't beat out Fuld then he needs to take a look at his work ethic.
  20. i really can't think of one aspect that the sox are better in.
  21. I almost feel bad for the brewers and their fans. they have a pretty good team, but a horrible manager and made a couple of horrible signings
