  1. Scrap to Pitt was also reported by the local news. It was closer to happening than you might think. But you are right. I was wrong twice. http://blog.pennlive.com/davidjones/2011/01/conflicting_reports_on_tom_bra.html I edited the Sandusky message because of the sensitivity of it at the time, not because anything I wrote was incorrect.
  2. What have I been wrong about Ryan? The prediction about last years bowl game being Paterno's last? Yes, I was wrong about that one. I really figured Joe and the others had a clue this $hitstorm was coming and they would try to get out of the way of it, at least as best as they could at that point. I was a bit too early on that prediction. I can admit I was wrong. But the Sandusky investigation I was, sadly, right about and Derwood should be able to vouch for that. Pat Chambers, I was right about. This hire? You're right, I'm just throwing names on a wall but I'm having fun doing it.
  3. If they have a video clip of him saying it, then yes.
  4. Stop believing ESPN.
  5. Yeah, what's he ever done there? He'll definitely enter the Hall wearing an Angels hat.
  6. I'm going to play my role around here, and enjoy doing it. Mark Richt to Penn State.
  7. I never used the word "properly". Of course I wish he had done more than merely kick it up the chain of command. But you are forming your own version of what happened and blatantly ignoring the few facts that we currently know, and its way past annoying.
  8. Find me a post where I said that.
  9. Find me a law that he broke by hearing 2nd hand information and reporting said information to his bosses, and I will agree that he should be punished beyond being fired and ridiculed by heathens not unlike yourself. But you can't. So flame away.
  10. Do you even read any of the testimonies or reports? He reported what he heard to Curley and Schultz. Granted, he didn't report it to President Bush, per his responsibilities as the Most Powerful Man in Pennsylvania, but saying he "failed to report" is incorrect and you know it. I also hope anyone planning on "actively covering up" anything in the future take notes from Paterno's mistakes: don't tell your superiors about what you plan on covering up, because that will make it harder to cover it up. Got it.
  11. He's obviously doing research for his novel.
  12. http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2011/12/another_version_of_mike_mcquea.html Say goodbye to perjury charges against Curley and Schultz and McQueary's credibility.
  13. My issue is what you just posted is inaccurate. I could ask how, after Paterno testified to the Grand Jury that he "was never told by McQueary of a child being raped", and that the Attorney General still called him a credible witness after that statement, and McQueary (another credible witness per the AG) claims he spared Paterno the messy details, you still maintain that he "knew" that a child was raped? But I won't, because you already have him convicted. Again, I'm not here defending every action or inaction of Paterno, just that the hate towards him is overblown and the focus should be on the ones actually charged with crimes. And because something is "smaller in scope" isn't not worthy of discussion? Seems to me like Bobby Davis has established credibility, and he claims that Boeheim witnessed him as a young boy in Fine's hotel bed.. Boeheim called a victim of sex abuse a "liar out for money".. ESPN sat on a tape for 8 years of Fine's wife admitting to knowing about her husband molesting children, while Fine was still working for Syracuse and in daily contact with other ball boys.. The head of Syracuse police, a former Boeheim/Fine player, dismissed a complaint against Fine without a thought.. Seems like the scope is big enough to talk about to me. I mean, at least mentioned once in the 2 weeks its been a story. :-k
  14. It's character suicide. He brought it on himself with the way he handled the situation. I'll drop the Paterno thing. I just think its unfortunate that he's the face of this scandal eventhough he didn't commit any crimes or witness any crimes. He's near the bottom of "people I blame" in this grand scheme of things. But whatever... My original thought remains; Why does no one here seem to care enough about the Bernie Fine situation to mention? Its a pretty big news story in its own right, but not a single comment about it. Just seems odd to me.
  15. I get that Zero, but its hard for me to accept the character assassination of Paterno in all of this, and I won't get into it cause I know people don't care, but Im confident that when all the facts come out, Paterno will look much better (or at least, less worse) in people's eyes. Still, absolutely no one here gave enough of a crap about Bernie Fine and the mess in Syracuse to mention, which I find strange. I guess because the scale is different, its OK that Boeheim called a victim of child sex abuse a "liar out for money". Its not a big deal that ESPN knew a current coach molested boys, yet did nothing about it (and when they had the chance, they killed Paterno for doing more than they actually did)... Ahhhh, forget it, I know its a losing battle. Its all very, very sad and I'll leave it at that.
  16. Sandusky and Fine appear to be scumbags, I just find it odd that there has been absolutely zero mention of the Bernie Fine situation on this board (this is actually the very first time his name is mentioned on this site). Are all of the rabble rousers burnt out from the Paterno assassination? Not saying the situations are identical, but where is the outrage over Boeheim attacking possible victims in the press? Where is the outrage over ESPN having a tape of Fine's wife admitting molestation, but doing nothing with it for 8 years? Where is the outrage over a former Cuse player heading up the police department telling an accuser and victim to "[expletive] off"? WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE I ASK?!1
  17. When Sandusky wasn't coaching, eating or sleeping, he was molesting, apparently. I still think Sandusky and Fine should have their own threads. Oh wait, this board doesn't care about Fine/Boeheim. It's all Paterno's fault.
  18. http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/1372/dungy.jpg Urban who?
  19. Nope, just pointing out something stupid that someone said. HAPPY HOLIDAYS DERWOOD!
  20. Actually, yes, back on October 1st I was positive that Penn State would not lose by 70 points to Wisconsin.
  21. But still not excited, because Wisky will win by 70, right? PSU's defense is top 10 in the nation in most categories, so giving up 70 to Wiscy seems a bit unlikely. I agree! viewtopic.php?f=44&t=59999&start=225 Good to see you've finally gotten it.
  22. That's hardly damning, the part you've quoted, anyway. She stuck her nose in places it didn't belong. How many jobs has she been fired from now? Just wondering... But seriously, if you think an administrator should have the authority to suspend (for 4 games) student-athletes (with clean records) for making prank phone calls, then you are an idiot. That's an issue for the Head Coach. He would've handled that situation appropriately. Same with shooing arrows into a wall. Those were minor instances that she drew a line in the sand with Joe on, and she didn't need to. By the time the real issue came up (the fight that started when the student in the apartment slapped the football player's girlfriend.. Funny how that gets left out. Not excusing it, but it's not like they were on some sort of random beat down mission) she had already burnt her fair share of bridges.
  23. But still not excited, because Wisky will win by 70, right?
  24. Lung cancer for Joe...
  25. I propose to change the thread about Jerry Sandusky to the title "Jerry Sandusky" and not someone who didn't molest anyone.
