    I secretly fantasize about him being a pinch hitter/player coach on multiple Cubs WS teams starting in 2016 with Baez & Bryant hitting like prime Manny & Albert Belle. 2016/1995 Baez/Thome Bryant/Young Manny Rizzo/Belle Castro/Baerga Alcantara/Lofton Old Manny/Murray I think we're on to something.

    I know this probably sounds stupid and hyperbolic, but I'd be furious if we traded both KB and JB. These past couple years, following their developments has been the only fun thing about being a Cubs fan for me, sadly. I'm all in on them. If we traded one or both away and they went on to have the kinds of careers I hope they have, I'd probably give up watching baseball altogether.

    NOBODY COUNTS THE MISS BLISS YEARS AS CANON. Why are Jessie and Kelly never there at the same time as Tori, even though it's all senior year? They had different class schedules, obviously.

    If Alcantara continues to prove that he could be an above-average player, than I hope we don't trade him. Well, unless the return was an equal or more value arm, I guess. Theres just something really appealing about having good to great Castro-Baez-Alcantara middle INF during our push for contention. All 3 could fill valuable roles on the ML club, and then make a trade from there if it makes sense. We all drool about Castro-Baez DP combo for 160 games but it just isn't likely. Alcantara would be an excellent backup, plus I'd imagine he's got value as a pinch runner and possible converting to emergency OF, or whatever. I'll be real here: I love that he's a switch hitter and I hope we find room for him.

    Just because he doesn't hit pitches that are out of the zone well doesn't mean that he won't stop trying to.

    I'm in a fantasy draft with non-Cubs fans.. Javy just went in the 19th round and 3 other guys responded in frustration. The word is getting out.

    I have a buddy's birthday coming up, and we used to trade baseball cards. I think it'd be fun to get a couple packs for him to open up. Anyone know any sets out there for sale at Target, WalMart, etc that would include prospects like Baez?

    Elsewhere in the NL Central: Bucs are #3, Cards are #6, Reds at #16, and the Brewers are all the way down at #29. LA Angels take the 30th spot. That will be a fun Tennessee lineup

    I wish it had been Oklahoma. That Fiesta Bowl is going to be atrocious. I actually think the Fiesta will be one of the better games. The times I've seen both teams play, I've been impressed. Good teams, bad histories.

    Yeah, I'd def want Sims. But if what Hoops says is true in the other thread, what about a package involving Bethancourt? Not sure ATL has any OFs I'd want.. but a stud defensive C would be nice. Maybe work a 3-way trade to bring in the SP or corner OF our FO wants.

    So hypothetically, if ARod wins his appeal, Cano gets re-signed and everyone comes back healthy enough, could the Yanks have a lineup something like: CF Ellsbury SS Jeter 2B Cano 1B Teixera 3B Rodriguez C McCann DH Soriano/Wells LF Gardner RF Ichiro Is that a close projection of a Yankee fan's 'best case scenario' lineup?
