Title fix -
Regardless of his stats there, that was PSU ball with 5.4 seconds left and up 1, but purdue gets the hometown call on the play 6 feet in front of the ref. It's a shame when a game like that comes down to a play that an official clearly boots. And I'm 99% positive purdue was heavy favorites in all 9 of those games, so kudos for him at least getting the 1 W... Oh well, DeChellis shows why he is the worst coach in America by drawing up that inbounds at the end, the play I will refer to as "The McGloin".

They never should have left Rec Hall. It was their own version of Cameron Indoor....super loud, fans right on top of the court....saw some amazing games there back in the Atlantic 10 days Same here. The Indiana robbery comes to mind, Gaudio taking down Big Dog too. Those were B10, obviously. But I started back with Ed Fogel. Good times. Great still for wrestling and volleyball though.

If Fisher stays in Nashville, I don't see much of a chance Munchak goes anywhere. The Texans wanted to interview him for the OC opening last year and the Titans wouldn't allow him to interview. I doubt they'd give him permission to interview at PSU, especially for anything other than the HC job. You bring up the very reason for my inclusion of the whole "being lucky" bit.

Discounting the fact that both of those guys are intelligent and know the game of football pretty well, neither of them are actual coaches, so I wouldn't worry about either DJ leaving the ministry or OJ his non-profit any time soon to coach a major football program (with zero experience). Interesting that you chose these two guys to try to make a point, is it because they both use initials as their names or something? Also while I don't disagree with you that the next head coach will be a person who was not a former player at the university, there are a handful of good "PSU Men" out there that you should be so lucky to welcome back as assistants. Mike Munchack, Steve Wisniewski, John Hufnagle immediately come to mind. Add Munchack (OL coach for Titans) and Wisniewski (Strength coach at Stanford) and I don't care who the HC is, you will have some big, strong linemen immediately. Guys like Darren Perry, Mike Zordich, and Gary Brown are also making impacts in the NFL, and then of course you have Golden who will do well at Miami.

I've said 2 things, I'm fairly certain, 1 of which was just a prediction (that has yet to be proven true or false, btw). I'd never be so bold to pretend I know exactly what will happen with Joe. We'll see. The other thing I said was 100% true; there was/is an investigation that many people thought would get leaked. So far it hasn't, and I'm glad.

Back to my 'we watched Joe's last game' prediction, once Pitt announces Tom Bradley as coach and he takes just enough assistants with him that Joe can't replace for a 1 year deal... This will get... interesting.

Not sure, he hasn't announced where he is going yet. Hell, he hasn't been granted his release yet, same as Bolden. Doesn't mean they don't intend to.

Also, not that recruiting stars matter at all, but Joe and Jay Paterno have ran off Pat Devlin (5), Kevin Newsome (4), and Rob Bolden (4) in three years. Impressive. McGloin (-2 stars).

I won't speak to the majority of the rumors in that email, but I was basing my hunch off of things I've heard from people themselves in the AD, well before that email made rounds. So its interesting that you have people from one side (AD) thinking and saying one thing and the other side (Joe) coming out and saying another. Whether its 2010, 2011, or 2015, I think PSU/Spanier has a fight on his hands and it won't end pretty.

Russ Rose stole this title in what was really supposed to be a rebuilding year. They are loaded for the next few years. Still find it very strange how successful both PSU volleyball programs are considering the location of the school.
