  1. fixed. you'll see.
  2. I thought he was banged up one of those years. 604 PAs one year, 543 the next. None of the minor league time on rehab stints. Well then my memory is worse than I thought. He's just an inconsistent SOB. Hopefully he's got a decent year left in him. I'm torn. I want the signing to work out, but I don't want Hendry to then reward him with a 4 year deal.
  3. Yeah, well that FSU team was a whole lot better than that record indicated. As I remember it, they had a ton of OL injuries early in the year that contributed to some losses. Ernie Sims, Kamerion Wimbley, Broderick Bunkley, Antonio Cromartie all went in the 1st round that year, with Leon Washington, Willie Reid, Pat Watkins, AJ Nicholson later drafted. The next year, Lawrence Timmons goes 1st round and Buster Davis, Lorenzo Booker, Mario Henderson, and Chris Davis also picked. UConn has Jordan Todman. So....... 2005 FSU >>>> 2010 UConn >>>>>>>>>>>>> 2004 pitt
  4. Can't be best dunk ever if he never touches the rim. But pretty amazing play nonetheless.
  5. A Nebraska player was at the bottom of a pile clearly getting his nuts pinched(punched?) by an ATM player. When he tried to get him off, he was flagged, twice. The Nebraska player. I don't have video, but assume it's out there somewhere. Nebraska got hosed, Pellini is a heathen. Both facts that shouldn't have anything to do with one another.
  6. To add perspective, Nebraska was penalized 16 times for 145 yards to aTm's 2 for 10 yards. I'm sure Pelini feels the B12 is trying to railroad his team for leaving the conference and if that's how he honestly feels, then I can't blame the guy for being irate.
  7. The Big Ten has three 10-1 teams and four 7-4 teams. Not bad, especially considering Pitt leads the big east at 6-4. And Nebraska should be 10-1 after tonight. Pretty deep conference next year.
  8. I wouldn't expect a fan of Missouri understand it.
  9. True, but it's a change from previous trends, and a good indicator of future moves. A school that previously only ever promoted from within or hired someone with PSU ties has done a complete 180, starting with the Coquese Washington hire for women's hoops 5 years ago. Look, PSU is different in a way that football drives everything. When there is a bad team, the entire university and town feels it; mom and pop stores, restaurants, hotels... They all suffer. When PSU finishes in the top 10, the school sees record application levels. And like I said before, the guy Spanier gives the ok on to replace Joe will likely be the only football coach he ever hires, and it will define his legacy. He will look at candidates beyond Bradley and Jay Paterno, thank god. He can afford Joe to have ups and downs because Joe is the best fundraiser the school will ever see. Spanier won't have that luxury once Joe is gone, and he won't be able to give a long leash to some unproven assistant. Will it be Gruden or Dungy? Most likely not. But I could see a Chris Peterson or Al Golden, for sure. Anyway, I've ranted on this too much, we will just have to see what happens the next year or two..
  10. Riiiiiiight. Hey, have you ever heard of Ed DeChellis? PSU is loyal to a fault. Also see: Portland, Rene. that's because they're not paying those people anything. Sure, if they can get some cheap upstart coach from a mid-major conference who is willing to coach for $300k/year, they'll keep him forever. I think that's your reality. I can't see them dropping a few million on anyone, and if they do, that coach will be on an extremely short leash So the athletic dept that just spent top dollar for wrestling, soccer, and lacrosse coaches (and soon, hockey) are on a 300k budget for the sport that actually funds the other 28?? Not happening. You've got the secong largest stadium in the country in the middle of nowhere, with rising ticket and donation prices, more stadium expansion in the future, and a rotting product on the field. Spanier and Curley aren't that reckless. The next coach will make more than the current one.

  12. Again, Cowher was a pipe dream of mine, I'd put it at .05% of him coaching anywhere in college. But Dungy and Gruden both seriously enjoy mentoring youth. And Penn State isn't just some regular college gig. Its a sleeping giant, with the right hire, after Joe leaves. Well over 100,000+ every Saturday, nationwide fanbase, fertile recruiting ground. Its also proven to be the most secure coaching job in ALL sports, and shown that the head coach doesn't actually have to go on the road to recruit if he doesn't want to. You better believe Jim Tressel and OSU will be the most interested in who PSU brings in, because the right guy could have a huge effect on their future success. And like I said before, I have on good authority that Gruden would at least listen.
  13. Money isn't the issue, I don't think. Tennessee reportedly (that word being the key) had some level of interest in Gruden and Lovie Smith during their coaching search. I didn't think either were in any way realistic, but not because UT wouldn't pony up the money to get them - some booster definitely would. My skepticism there - and here - is whether the coaches would have interest in going the college route. It's very different from the NFL and, whether you believe it's more or less time consuming, takes up a ton of time. Tennessee did reach out to Gruden but he turned them down before it even went anywhere. There was no way he would follow the Kiffens, not after the falling out between him and Monte. You'll have to trust me (which I realize is silly, considering im anonymous on the internet, but I'll say it anyway), Gruden would listen to Penn State.
  14. Cowher, admittedly, is a pipe dream. Dungy has a great relationship with PSU and would fit in with the mission and ideals. Gruden would have more interest in PSU than you would think.. Wild card is Bob Stoops. Al Golden is the cheapest, most logical outside hire. But if PSU can get an alum to donate 88mil for a hockey program, and another to get Cael Sanderson for hockey (and even Tambourini for LAX), then I think we can get some money to pay NFL-type levels. Question is, will they?
  15. WRONG. how am I emphatically wrong? you really believe Paterno won't name his successor? Well, I should point out that in this situaiton, really no one knows what will happen, but from the info I've gathered, its not as cut and dry as people think. First of all, if Joe croaks while still in position, even from the grave he won't be able to ensure his pick would get the job. But lets say that Joe gets to name his successor. Then without a doubt he will say, "Jay". And then Spanier will say, "Try again." Heres the thing, Graham Spanier knows that whomever he hires to replace Joe Paterno will be, for better or worse, a defining mark on his legacy as President at PSU. If something unfortunate happened to Joe while still coach either this year or next, then yeah, I could see Bradley taking over from there, albeit temporarily. But if you are talking about Joe retiring at the end of this year, then I am 99% convinced that Spanier and Curley will look at an outside candidate. Tony Dungy, Jon Gruden, Al Golden, Harbaugh, Cowher.... someone with some major experience and someone who will return PSU to top 5 or 10 status, almost immediately. Bradley is not entirely well-thought of at PSU, not by Athletics employees, not by his own defensive players (who aren't from Pittsburgh), and not by some of his fellow coaches. A current coach's wife said just this past Saturday, "If Bradley is the guy then you will see all of the real coaches leave in about 30 seconds." I could go into it more, but would rather keep certain things off the public board.
  16. Thanks. Had Jennings two years ago and I think I hadn't completely gotten over our break-up, without realizing just how much a drop he had last year, and how ridiculously consistent Driver has been, and looks to remain.
  17. League starts 2 RB, 2 WR, and 1 RB/WR flex. Was offered this this morning: Greg Jennings for Thomas Jones + Donald Driver This would give my team, The Kimmy Gibblers, a roster of: QB Rodgers, Roethlisberger RB Mendenhall, Tomlinson, Tolbert, Jacobs, F.Jones WR Megatron, Jennings, Colston, Lloyd, Clayton, S.Rice* TE Clark etc, etc SO basically, does anyone feel that Jennings upside the rest of the way is more beneficial to me than having 2 solid guys in TJ and DD? Should I sit tight and hope that Colston rebounds soon? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
  18. This guy left a backpack in a trash can and left, it wasn't like he was positioning himself as a suicide bomber, so I'd call it a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong shot that that guy would've killed himself to carry out this attack. Didn't say he was a suicide bomber. My point is that killing crappy wannabe terrorists won't do anything to convince "real" terrorists otherwise, and the death penalty doesn't deter idiots. Yeah, you kinda did. You made it seem like this guy would have no problem killing himself in order to succeed his objective, which doesn't appear to be accurate, since he tried to get away with it. And I never said that it would convince "real" terrorists otherwise, rather, wannabe terrorists who are stupid enough to tell people of their plans. Those people seem stupid enough to be swayed otherwise. But I know this argument is pointless since you are NSBB's #1 never wrong poster, so I concede. You win. Back to baseball talk.

  20. Given the above, I don't believe this even a little bit I do as I feel the same way. Well it's the dumbest [expletive] thing I've ever heard How is this dumb, or even confusing? I'm not a fan of capital punishment, in most cases, because sometimes the evidence isn't there. People have been executed for crimes they didn't actually commit. This guy was 100% intending on inflicting mass murder. I said "execute" him... to "send a message" to any other wannabe terrorist out there that even if you fail, we will put you down. I'm not a fan of abortion either, but I still think that a woman who is raped has every right to one. Is that the dumbest [expletive] thing you've ever heard too, or entirely reasonable? Can you not agree with something 99% of the time, but still accept it in the other 1%? I think you can. I'm also not a fan of the Phillies in the slightest, but I would prefer them to win a World Series over the Yankees.
  21. Execute this guy. Send a message. (and I'm not a fan of capital punishment)
  22. Didn't Bynum not play the 1st time? Well I know Boston hasn't beaten them with Artest, either
  23. Wow, that's a stretch. The kids were excited they thought they saw a game winning catch in the final seconds. Then the refs said it wasn't a catch, and every explanation we gave them made no sense to them. So, their excitement died down a bit and went from joy to confusion. That's all, I never insinuated otherwise.
