  1. He could still go to the bo-sox in a three way deal which is probably more realistic than the yankees. the yanks havent expressed interest in garza yet. Also there is no way the yankees trade two or even three of those guys for anyone short of Roy Halladay or Cliff Lee. Let alone 3 more prospects? thats just not happening. The reason why we traded so many guys for garza was because the guyer, chirinos, and fuld are AAAA'ers at best. Lee is a real nice looking prospect and archer had a great year last year but has regressed quite a bit from those sparkling numbers. the most telling is that his whip has jumped from 1.173 to 1.639. The fact of the matter is we wont be parlaying Garza, who has had a mediocre (albiet bad luck) first half for more than we gave up for him. How do you know?
  2. Cool, thanks. I was looking to see if McCutchen was wearing them too, but his dreads made that impossible.
  3. This may be a stupid question, but I admit, I haven't watched many games lately.. Has Starlin always worn those stars on the back of his jersey and hat? Or is that something players can wear once they make the AS team?
  4. 10 vs. 11 + refs. Pretty amazing win.
  5. What do you mean good for him? In a variety of ways. He's constantly taking to him, and Starlin seems to listen. Especially after an error. Starlin seems like the kid who could get mistakes in his head and barney talks him off the wall. Does anyone else see this or am I making it up? Their rapport on the double play still makes me stand up and get excited occasionally. ETA I originally mistyped Starlin as Stalin. Stalin Castro. So, you are in favor of making Barney our second baseman of the present and future, and the reason why is because he "is good for" Castro "in a variety of ways", of which you only mention that "he talks to him". Oh, and he can turn a double play, like pretty much any other second basemen out there. Am I getting that right?
  6. Ortiz didn't charge because Gregg was throwing inside. He charged because after Gregg got him to flyout to his infield... apparently Ortiz unknowingly broke the "you must run out every fly ball you hit" unwritten rule and Gregg screamed something vulgar enough that prompted not only the umpire to immediately eject him but also provoked usually mild Ortiz into a fight (and I can't really remember Papi charging the mound much before; he may have and vie forgotten it, but I assume he has a pretty level-headed reputation). It seemed pretty obvious that Gregg was picking a fight.
  7. Im guessing it violates something out of the "Unwritten Rules of Baseball Messageboard" book.
  8. No doubt about it. But he could also be Roosevelt Brown. I just think it's interesting (creepy?) that tspain seems to be really excited about Easterling, all because of his hard body.
  9. Was your favorite player of the 90's Ron Gant?
  10. Maybe my favorite batting order of the year. Stick Fukudome in there vs righties and I like it even more.
  11. Wow, I never knew that the bum was THE Levin Black of the Lafayette Blacks. There is a theory that when his father passes, Levin will actually bypass his older brother (and the rightful heir) for the soccer throne. All because of his adorable baby smile! I love a juicy royal drama!! So which was it, young Prince? Did your father start or help start the rec league? Did he create other soccer leagues or high school programs? Or is it all unclear since his legend was told by word of mouth and no sound documentation exists?
  12. Dude was bragging about [expletive] Faith Evans, not killing her. Yeah, I guess. He did bring Faith and Kim into it though, and went on to say 'if you are down with Bad Boy .... [expletive] you, die slow [expletive] my 4-4 make sure all ya'll kids don't grow'. So while I'd consider that threats of man on woman violence, you might not.
  13. Surprised theres been no mention of Tupac's "Hit 'em Up".
  14. If your baseball team had 2 elite prospects you would choose to not use a toilet? What a baffling thing to say.
  15. Now do the ACC!
  16. I am assuming you are referring to Casey Coleman? Either That or you think the Cubs don't think too highly of Chris Carpenter and want to see him fail?
  17. Really? Over the past 5 years or so, Abreu is the only one that comes to mind that would fit that bill. Pudge too, I guess.
  18. Hmmmmm.... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6662097
  19. I'll take a wild guess and say it has something to do with playing amongst terrible baseball players. Also consider that he has hit leadoff most of the time so that means lots of Koyie Hill, pitcher, and a mix of montanez/colvin/campana/whatever not getting on base in front of him. Oh also baseball is a long season and that pace will certainly change and probably soon.
  20. Oh boy.
