  1. I can't remember if I've posted in this thread. So just in case I didn't... P.S. Has anyone started a petition yet to have Go Cubs Go put on the next edition of Guitar Hero? Link?
  2. The Cardinals are becoming quite the collection of rejects and hooligans. Izzy (the crappy SS, but I guess the RP too), D'Angelo, Clement, now this guy... All this = 2008 WS Champs
  3. Has anyone mentioned Randy Hundley yet? That smooth, mouth-full-of-rocks voice really got me going. Stoney and Hughes are 1 and 1(a) for me.
  4. I don't know what makes Ryno think he is entitlement to move up the ranks after one season of managing. How many years has Listach been "putting in his time?" I'm not saying Listach should be the next manager, but when I heard Ryno say last season that he expected to move up, he sounded immature. Set aside the fact that he is Ryno. Would anyone be pushing for the guy with one year at low-A to be the next manager of the Cubs?
  5. This thread is off the rails. Just sort of meh about this trade. Ohman was a spare part, and probably overpaid. Same thing with Infante. Salary dump, I guess.
  6. He'd be an instant hero if he could get Foley and Messmer back. But with Wayne being a part-owner of the Wolves, he may not be available at any price. I don't see any reason he couldn't do both. But you know, I'm also not sure how much animosity either Messmer or Foley have toward the organization. There are new folks, but who knows...it might not be enough.
  7. I'm puzzled by this. But I think it's much more a clear gain for the Hawks than it is a clear loss for the Cubs.
  8. Blues rocked Detroit last night with about 10 minutes of solid play in the second period. The rest of the time the Wings dominated play. Amazing crowd at Scottrade for a Tuesday night. And while David Perron sure looks undersized and outmanned out there sometimes, he can get it done. He might end up third in the Calder race.
  9. I'm making sure I catch a game when I'm home for xmas. These guys are impressive. Lots of energy and they skate with confidence on seemingly every shift. Hopefully they can have a solid road trip.
  10. Blues played a great game last night at Minnesota. They are going to be inconsistent all year, as evidenced by the bad home loss to Phoenix on Tuesday, but things are looking up.
  11. Rock Chalk! This is ridiculous!
  12. He won't have to worry about that sort of humiliation this year. On a side note, Blues are looking pretty good so far. 3-1, two sellouts at home to start, and the only two goals the last two games have been knocked in by their own guys. EJ has been out though. Should be back Weds at Chicago.
  13. EJ is going to be an amazing dman. cant wait to see him and jack johnson pair up for team usa I am looking forward to seeing EJ's home debut on Wednesday night!
  14. Didn't see it anywhere in this thread, but according to Sullivan's blog from yesterday, Kendall is starting tonight. Those four outs must be burning a hole in Lou's pocket.
  15. It's a must win, no question. And if they do, I feel really good about taking both at home. More excited for tonight than last night. Guess I just didn't expect to pull it out last night.
  16. Sully's blog today said he would be there. Go Cubs Go! Almost done waiting. I'm staying at work late so I won't have to sit around bored at home. Lame, eh?
  17. Didn't Z almost throw a no-no in Arizona a few years ago? I seem to remember that. Anyone have his career stats there? I have nothing to back this up other than my sincerest hope, but I think he'll do fine tonight. But we will need 3-4 runs to get it done.
  18. I'm doing a pretty good job so far of keeping busy to pass the time more quickly. I mean, except for my visit to this thread every 15 minutes. Won't 9pm just get here already?!!?!!!!
  19. There might be good baseball fans in AZ, but I just got back from there, and there doesn't seem to be much buzz. And there are thousands of good seats left for tonight's game, at least as of yesterday.
  20. Valverde put the fire out. AZ wins 4-2.
  21. It's gonna happen, isn't it?
  22. 2 down, Fielder to third. Get one more Heath!
  23. Cripe. Bell hit Hart, two on.
  24. OHMIGODOHMIGODOMGOMGOGMGOGMGOGOG!
