    I'm happy with the Job Theo has done, and he just makes me feel more confident. Yeah I know that's his job. But the tippy top of the draft prospects from 2012-2014 while painful at the MLB level, will be the real catalyst to the turnaround.

    Indulging in the fantasy briefly: Samardzija/Tanaka/Jackson/Wood/Arrieta Strop/Wright/whomever That's a really not-upsetting pitching staff And the Bats are coming.

    Ew. Like Kolek, Jackson, or Turner better than Beede. Picking 4 and with Rondon assures atleast one will be there. As it stands now I think I like Kolek the most, Jackson next, and Turner 3rd.

    I don't think it could be both Shark and Howie to Royals unless Cubs are getting back something like Zimmer/Ventura+ Angels/Royals prospects... Yeah I don't get this. Our FO wants prospects, or MLBers that are young 24-27ish maybe. Kendrick is a nice upgrade at 2B from Barney but he is 30. Could he be part of the package? sure. But to list him as your only name implies he's the headliner? And I'm sorry but that is stupid. The Cubs would be the ones wanting guys like Starling, Zimmer, etc. . Howie is a 2nd piece to upgrade 2B in the near term? Sure I can buy it. But we want prospects to add to our already huge wave of prospects that are about MLB ready.

    He was talking about Bubba Starling not Starlin. Oh so that's an update on the whole mention of angels + royals hochevar, hendrick and starling. Um so if the angels are getting starling. Which team is getting Shark and who the FRACK are the Cubs getting?

    That seems really cheap for a 9 k/9 guy without excessive BB numbers. Yay our first signing of an ACTUAL regular. yay, now more please.

    Yeah, maybe now's a good time to do some prospects for quality major leaguers trades since very little buys you a whole lot so far this offseason.

    You don't want to trade an actual asset, for a maybe asset. Trade a couple of lower maybes for a higher maybe.

    If Garza stays healthy and if Castro doesn't suck and if Rizzo and Samarzdija take steps forward and if the bullpen had held together and if we'd gotten some pythagorean luck and if the Pirates hadn't been so awesome. I didn't wear my lucky 1986 Cubs shirt that doesn't fit me any more during every televised game and pat my tummy and burp every time a Cubs hitter came up to bat.

    according to gameday almora batting 1st, Soler 3rd. No Bryant. :banghead: was hoping for all 3 in starting lineup.

    My guide is showing it starts at 8CT and the BBWA are being aired live at 7CT This morning, my DirecTV guide updated to the Solar Sox game. My guide still shows Mesa starting at 8CT and I saw a commercial for the Mesa game tonight while watching MLBN before work. As it should, since the game is 7:00 p.m. mountain time, there would be no way for them to broadcast the future at 7:00 p.m. central time.

    So if that info is correct, and put in context with almost every other mention we've seen about how the team is really trying to add pitching, that almost has to mean something like Skaggs and Holmberg, unless Towers was making Delgado available. Actually, now that I think of it, given how much the FO likes Delgado, that would make some sense. If it was Shark + Russel would it be insane to expect a deal headlined by Delgado + Skaggs, then Holmberg + Trehan? TY did mention multiple high end assets. I would hope Shark had enough value to net Delgado + Skaggs + Trehan alone. Thinking adding another asset to get a quality LH prospect.

And now he's had to backpedal, backpedal, backpedal. And instead of admitting he was wrong he's being a politician with his words. Just admit you were wrong big guy.

    I think the Cubs will have the no doubt best farm system in baseball right after the draft, and they add the #4 pick. Before Baez and Bryant lose prospect status. Not that it matters much. But that brief couple month period will be a nice time to take a "snapshot" of the Cubs farm. It will be even more insane looking if the Cubs deal Smardzija.
