  1. Nov. 2, 5:10 p.m. MST Fall Stars Game, Surprise Stadium cool, thanks. That recording will probably be on my DVR for awhile.
  2. when is this "allstar game"? The one that's supposedly on MLB network. I looked at the schedule and I can't see any room in it for an allstar game. All I see remotely close is the "championship game" at mid Nov. at the end of the season. But I'm sure that's not it.
  3. If our infield suddenly went from Rizzo/Barney/Castro/Valbuena to Rizzo/Baez/Castro/Bryant, I wouldn't complain. Olt will be making a push for ROY and GG at that point. You mean HOF. Get your act straight.
  4. Duh, because hello, he didn't go to that arizona fall league game. Come on.
  5. gross I hope that isn't true Yeah, what an idiot, being all happy knowing that our top prospects are going to be awesome major leaguers. Makes me wanna puke, what with his confidence that we'll have a better future than the stinking Yankees. Bring back MacPhail/Hendry, they are true pros. yeah, on a day where two NL central teams played for the right to go to the NLCS and the cubs were apparently spurned by their top managerial choice, I would be kinda grossed out by theo walking around with his chest puffed out about a 19 year old's 4-5 day in a glorified scrimmage. I mean, i'm pumped about the farm system too, but I bet girardi gives zero [expletive] about albert almora. and I understand that if theo did say this (which I really doubt) he was likely joking. So you're arguing, and getting all pumped up, on the premise that Theo MIGHT HAVE ACTUALLY SAID THAT SERIOUSLY? Did you leave your common sense lying around somewhere?
  6. only if anyone there can grace us with a recording. Other than that we will get one full game to see our boys, the ASG.
  7. stop it with the excitement. Soler better than Puig, Baez insane year, Bryant a monster. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view8/4779813/da-bears-o.gif
  8. Thanks, I"ll mean to catch it later. I presume he talked mostly Cubs? I love W&S, but those two are brutal when it comes to baseball. But I'm listening to it for Law.
  9. Thanks, I"ll mean to catch it later. I presume he talked mostly Cubs?
  10. God this is giving me a boner. DOWN BOY!
  11. Give me CarGo or give me Death! (not literally, please don't kill me great and mighty karma)
  12. I don't know, all hints seem to point to Girardi. When media first asked about it a couple weeks ago and Theo said it was borderline disrespectful. He sorta had that shy smile on his face, the same kind you get when your a teenager and your friends say "yooouuuu liiiike heerrrrr" and you're like "NO I don't!".
  13. Cubs lost, Twins lost. It's gonna go down to the last game, god dammit. Only silver lining is we win in a tie. But still a possibility with a win and a twins loss, we lose the 4th pick.
  14. Shh. Don't mess with the fantasy man. We know about reality, why do you have to spoil the fantasy?
  15. 2 HOF - Javier Baez, Albert Almora 1 Mega all star - Kris Bryant 1 above average regular - Jorge Soler
  16. If it makes you feel better. If they hire Girardi, it probably signals that they plan to make a big push in the offseason through trades and FA.
  17. Junior Lake is so good he contributes twice. I mostly agree with your list, and we have an influx of prospects to be pretty active on the trade front this offseason. Adding Tanaka and a couple good trades could really infuse this team with talent and get the ball rolling early.
  18. I couldn't disagree more. With the new CBA, there are more incentives for teams to tank and they will continue to do so unless changes are made to the system. You can't just look at draft position. A team's record also impacts their amateur draft budget, international draft budget, and protected pick status for Type A free agents. Theo said that if you don't make the playoffs you're better off finishing in the bottom 10 and that if it came a point in the season where they knew they would not compete that we would see another sell off and an awful finish. We did. This is the right way to do it. I would rather end up with pick #4, CJ Edwards, Mike Olt, Neil Ramirez ++ than the #15 pick and Garza for the rest of the year on a faint hope of competing.
  19. Show me this incredible roster. I'll pay your bar tab for life. C: Welington Castillo 1B: Anthony Rizzo 2B: Arismendy Alcantara SS: Starlin Castro 3B: Javier Baez LF: Kris Bryant CF: Albert Almora RF: Jorge Soler I'll take it. I'm having flashbacks to the Choi, Kelton, Hill, Patterson, Brown, days. Then we had Dopirak and others as the next "waive". Those were great seasons with that core. Were Choi, Kelton, Hill, Patterson, Brown ranked among the top 30 in all of baseball? I'm not on the extreme side of "OMG they are all gonna make it" but this argument you offered is more annoying. It dismisses the fact just how talented our top 4 really are.
  20. Are you saying you're extremely frightened and submissive to this thread?
  21. What is the DSL? Dominican Summer League? If they are skipping it, what's next? Can someone give me an idea of the progress level for guys that young IE: the levels below boise?
  22. I think CJ is no doubt our top pitching prospect but nice to see him get some love outside of meatball fans like me. Sure would be nice to see him emerge as an elite level pitching prospect next year. He has the talent for it.
  23. most improved is obvious, Baez emerging of an elite, or almost elite level prospect biggest disappointment for me is Almora and Soler, 2 of our top 4 prospects losing so much time to injury, and therefore not able to show that they are capable of having elite level years themselves. I like the huge wave of high ceiling pitching we've added to A+. We have some guys who have the talent and stuff to break out in 2 years as our top prospect as a pitcher. So our talent from A to AA is a pretty big wave of true and good prospects. On top of that we have another wave of guys in boise and lower right now that are ready to be unleashed in full season ball next year. Including pitchers from this years draft and international signings. So while our wave of guys like Edwards and all the A+ pitchers and Villanueva and all the AA hitters move up. We'll see guys like Zastrysny + the pitching and the Balaguerts and Dunston Jr's in Kane next year. This year was a very good year for the farm. If the same level of improvements can be made next year it will be a great year also.
  24. so tennessee isn't on milbtv even though their schedule says they are.
