    Hearing you say that makes me think, damn. Edwards better be in MLB's RHP top 10 later this morning. I know there are some amazing RHP prospects. But Edwards should atleast make top 10 hearing that. And he didn't make it.

    Mostly that I think. He is a Rays scout. Not sure if area/local or whatever. And he has been right about a few things well in advance of our local media so that's where the followers probably built up from.

    This is why I voted CJ too. Now Soler has the ability to have an outstanding year and catapult him no doubt about it. But Edwards has a considerable amount of time of sustained awesomeness and can still get better. I have to go with that for now, than hopeful projection.

    What would get em jazzed at Cubs Con would be for, after announcing the line of prospects that all walk down the carpet and greet the fans. Have Pat Hughes announce in his usual smirky style. The he wants to announce the newest Chicago Cub. Let's give him a big hand. Masahiro Tanaka!! WWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah but they already said it's not a player acquisition. It's gotta either be: 1) news about TV deal 2) settling with the rooftops to begin construction for whatever they can still do or something related to rennovation 3) Clark left because his planet needed him but was killed on his way home. I realize that but if it is big news related to TV/renovation/income then they care therefore afford to budget in a huge deal for Tanaka. The coming news might not be player related, but it will lead to being able to sign expensive player. Hey maybe they can beat the next highest offer by $10 mil. Put it in there if he can show up in time for the Cubs convention, an extra 10 mil baby! Hey let me go with this fantasy for tonight.

    Yeah. I just think guys with unusual names are just destined to be top prospects. Which is why I'm pretty excited about Zastryzny. He has unusual excessive consonants that are all near the end of the alphabet.

    As David said the odds are it's probably TV or rooftop/stadium related. Discussing the "gravity" of the situation suggests to me it's more of a longterm organization issue rather than a player acquisition. So probably related to getting renovations/TV/revenue stream up and running sooner? Couldn't that help/be an important factor in Tanaka (IE: they can throw a bit more stupid money at him)?

    That's why I picked Edwards. He's going against 2 guys (Almora and Soler) who each had about a 1/2 season of attrition last year. I'm not going to assume Edwards is going to get hurt until he actually gets hurt. And I'm not going to count the chance he gets hurt against him when comparing him to 2 players who have been hurt. I'd probably vote Edwards next, but based on this poll it looks like Soler will be ranked 4th since his little bar is the next largest after Almora. I only voted Almora because all the experts say how polished and high his floor is. I trust the experts on this and think that's very important. Edwards has an extremely high ceiling, and an Ace in my personal opinion, but I don't think he's anywhere near as "safe" a prospect as Almora. That means little since nobody has any idea what Almora voters at 3 would pick for 4. I still think whoever is the next biggest bar is a good indicator. It doesn't guarantee I just think it's likely.

    They'll be updating the other positions daily now. Which other positions you think Cubs will get some guys in? Will CJ make the RH top 10? We won't have any LHP or C, 3B Bryant obviously and Alcantara should make the 2B top 10 if he's being considered a 2B by MLB now. Vogelbach probably makes it. And Almora + Soler should in the OF top 10. I only ask this because I've been waiting for new MLB.com prospect videos so I'm eagerly awaiting to see some more.

Is Japan the Alabama of Asia? Japanese women just tend to look young. I'm only spitballing here but maybe the food/vitamins they take are better in Japan? Or that it's a creepy sexualization of younger women/girls taken to the extreme so that you have someone like this (who is almost 30 and actually older than Tanaka) desperate to make themselves up to look like and act like a little girl. Yeah I know there is a culture in japan for women to talk very high voiced and "cutesy" like. She's also a popular singer so her diet is probably really good. Probably a combination of everything.

    Kiley McDaniel? Used to work for ESPN. Very highly respected. It's really nice to see the volume of elite ceiling prospects we have being ranked highly by so many gurus.
