  1. Ah, jeez, this one almost makes sense! If Murton bunts at any point during this game barring a 8th or 9th inning 1 run deficit, I will be incredibly pissed. Get ready to be pissed. Cause it's gonna happen. I think Dusty is taking critisism of not playing small ball a little TOO seriously. He hears critisism, and he thinks bunting all the time is good small ball!? God is he stupid.
  2. I've seen that countless times. But that cut of the video doesn't have where they say they are not interested in silly "gimmicks" (mocking Nintendo's new controller) yet later in the conference they show playing a magic card game by placing cards down on a sensor table, using a PSP to be a "rear view mirror" in a racing game, and a controller that has gyro 6 directional sensors.
  3. I'm not giving up hope per se, for this year. I mean I'll still watch alot of Cubs games (deffinatly the ones with strong pitchers like Zambrano or Wood, ect. .) But I am deffinatly not expecting them to make the wild card this year or win the division. So I'm not holding out hope on that. And like I saw mentioned, it's probably healthier. Just watch them play, if some good stuff happens and they start winning. Good for them. If they ever get back up to 10 games over, then I'll start watching with more authority.
  4. Bynum LF Perez SS Walker 1B Jones CF Mabry RF Hairston 2B Theriot 3B Blanco C Rusch P I got Walker and Mabry at the right spots in the order but wrong positions. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. And I figured I should put Rusch in the lineup to remove any doubt on whether the lineup was real or not. I knew it was fake. I seriously hope you are all joking. We've seen some horrible Dusty line-ups. But never has he substituted for 4, 5, or 6 of his major players all in one day. He usually does it for 3 one day, and get's the next 3 tommorow. essentially ruining TWO games.
  5. Nah. He'll get to 715  . But I smile every time I see him miss. Cause I know it's just another at bat down toward his goal of being #1. At this rate he stands no chance of passing Aaron :D . (Unless they let him wheel himself out there in a wheelchair over the next few years). .
  6. I totally missed this part. If you want Tejada. You have to take out 1 or 2 of Cedeno, Prior, or Marshall out of your "core".
  7. I'd do it, honestly. I just don't think it's gonna happen. I'd give Cedeno and Prior for it. You all can keep hoping and waiting year after year for Prior. But I do not care to.
  8. I don't think anyone has mentioned Fla and Hous fired their managers in 03 and 04. :D
  9. It's because nobody is brave enough to pull Bonds pants down and have a look at the evidence. Bonds can still pack a punch, I'm sure. By the way, ANY idea what day that game was on? I have MLB.TV and I'd love to see the game where that banner was raised.
  10. 1) He's smart. Who want's to follow this bunch of losers. 2) I heard on the score that the Trib conveniently sent all of their Cubs media guys on vacation for a week. Seriously. (but I don't even know if Bruce writes for them, yeah I know, HOW COULD I! SHAME ON ME!)
  11. I'm having fun trying to think of definitions for assinate. We need Edmonds? Edmonds could ass-inate dusty.
  12. 13 year old girls everywhere take exception to what you just said. You know any good 13 year old girl softball stars? We could sure use them on this team!!
  13. This season deffinatly hasn't been "Juan Pierre like".
  14. I think you keep any of the youngsters and are performing and vets that are performing up to their talent levels. Marshall Cedeno and Murton are all performing and would be well outproducing their salaries, allowing more money to be spent on bigger bats. Lee, Dempster, Eyre, Howry, those are the types you want to keep. Ramirez, Barret, Pierre, Jones, Walker. Those are all positions you want to improve upon. I for one wouldn't mind having a catcher that can throw out runners at a sacrafice of offensive production. Or having a 2B that is both good offense AND defense. Listen to offers for any of those players. All the other JUNK like Rusch, Neifi, ect we don't need either.
  15. I saw no better time for the Cubs to come to life than after their first 3 games into the 8 game loosing streak. And before going something like 1 out of 12. But that didn't happen. What are you going to say when the Nationals beat us 2 out of 3, and the Sox Sweep us? Are you going to say "no beter time when being 11 under .500 and facing the worse team Florida"? You SERIOUSLY think this team (and the way it's playing now) is just going to magically come back to life and SWEEP the Nationals? (Sweep ANY team for that matter) and actually beat a far superior team, the White Sox? (yuck it hurts to say it) I want the Cubs to succeed too. But what you're going on right now, is blind faith.
  16. I'd agree we need to upgrade our outfield. If we can add a big bat in the outfeild and either bring Pie up or get someone else via trade. Then those are the right moves. I would also evaluate the pitching after this season. And stop relying on injury prone pitchers, and get a top of the line starter via free agency to add to any of Zambrano, Maddux, Marshall, Miller, Prior, ect. . Whoever performs. We keep. Dump the rest via trade to get aformentioned holes filled. But nothing is more important than this. We need to dump alot of people from the top. I don't want Baker, I don't want Hendry, I don't want any of the coaching staff, I don't want the personal trainer, I don't want MacPhail. Infact the only guy that I DO like, is Chris Spier. Ofcourse we cannot get rid of all of them. But replacing as many of them as possible would be a positive move for the Cubs. .
  17. One of them's white? :?
  18. I feel confident with Marshall on the mound. This kid has made the most of his chance in the major leagues.
  19. Close enough? yeah, we'll give it to you. Now what do you want? How bout some respect for a change? Nah, didn't think so. Are you trying to harken back to 20 pages ago when we were talking about Rodney Dangerfield? Nobody gets any respect around here !! Oh my God it's Rodney again! (GET OUT OF MY HEAD VOICE, GET OUT!!)
  20. Plus Derreck Lee and Ramirez weren't the calibur players in 2004 that they are now. They are more like the new Sammy Sosa and Mouises Alou. But I do agree that this team is weaker. We are probably missing 1 big bat. Remember Lee and Ram were still pretty good in 2004 and we are lacking someone else of their calibur to go along with the 2 big boppers. .
  21. Not really, but it will provide a bit of an emmotional boost to the club. I really doubt these guys are going to only score 1 run a game for too much longer.
  22. And I'll give it to you. I'm so depressed I can't wear anything. I haven't dressed myself in 5 days, nor taken a bath. I am walking around nude all day. BY THE WAY I'M JUST KIDDING.
  23. Like the sig, kinda has a ytmnd feel to it. I wonder how many people HERE know what it means.
