  1. One would freakin hope so.
  2. The "house cleaning" you seek will never happen. Wishing for the Cubs to lose is...well....I don't understand it at all. What will you do when they extend Dusty Baker? Sean marshall had a rough game yesterday. That's all. Nolasco pitched a good game. Nothing more. I don't know about that. If the Cubs go 20 games under .500 there is going to be ALL EYES ON HENDRY He's gonna face national critisism and fan hate if he even thinks of extending Dusty. There will have to be some changes made. Pitching Coach, Hitting coach, manager, take your pick.
  3. Tommorow: JH "YES, WE SALVAGED ONE FROM THE FISH! SURELY DUSTY DESERVES CREDIT FOR STOPPING THE TRAIN WRECK TO BE!!"
  4. If we don't win, JH can never extend DB!!
  5. Nah, it's much more simple than that. No conspiracies going on. The fact is Jim and Andy don't have a clue about what is wrong with the Cubs and what needs to be done to fix it. I don't really think Jim and Andy think there is anything wrong. It's just all bad luck. Wow! That might actually be true. It would explain some things. If this is the case, the Cubs may never be a contending team year in and year out. Judging from MacPhail's comments in the herald it's not that far off. Our big problem is "Timely hitting" Hmmm. Who's better at "timely hitting". . . Someone who doesn't suck, or someone who does suck? Someone hitting .300 or someone hitting .200? This is hard.
  6. Dustybakersucks.com is still available I was suprised. Anybody want to make something of it?
  7. probably a winning streak. the problem is. they wont have one. That's not a problem if you look at what the possible result would be for next year! (no friggen darren running around the feild! WHOOPIEEE!!)
  8. Sorry to poke at this but the last optomist that came by said let's see what they do in the next series. When is it over? When are you gonna stop saying. Ok the NEXT series. Ok the NEXT series. Ok this is where we start winning, the NEXT series will tell the tale. When will you stop? When the Cubs are 20 games out? I want them to lose and lose bad. I want it to be so bad that the entire crowed at wrigley (we know wrigley will never be empty) boos long and loud before, during, and after every game. That every sports writer on the planet writes articles about how major changes are needed. That NATIONAL PRESSURE forces a major cleaning of the Cubs system. I want it to be so horrible that even MacPhail (F A I L) is fired. .
  9. Why would it matteR? (where's my prozac.)
  10. Having an owner who really wants to win, noticing Hendry, MacPhail (F A I L), and Dusty are dumb. Would fire them all and get people who knew what they are doing (along with wanting to win). MacPhail doesn't want to win. To sum up. If EVERYBODY in the "higher-ups" wanted to win. Things would change, RIGHT NOW.
  11. Had to chime in on this. That plan is a no no. Prior ok we are going to keep him but we dont' rely on him. Miller is well known to have "arms flailing" mechanics. Guzman you don't count on as anything more than a #5, and he still has to prove that this year, which he has not as of yet. Z, (#2 pitcher signing), Maddux, Marshall, Prior (then you use those other guys when Prior is not ready to pitch)
  12. Gotta tip your hat dude. Those batters were patient against us. I've never seen hitters that patient. (I certainly don't coach players that patient).
  13. I was watching the replay whilst visiting some cardinal fan family. The replay was on (like it probably was all night). And one of them said. "There was a whole lotta room to go around barret" (if he was indeed getting his helmet). I agreed. He lowered his shoulder and shouldered Barret. That's adding insult to injury after he bashes into him without the ball in his hand. Barret is not deserve all the blame. Barret's got fire, he loves being a cub, and I love him for it. Still shouldn't have hit him.
  14. I just want to see some changes made. But that means my beloved Cubs will have to tank this season. I'd hate that part of it. But if it means new manager, GM, and a whole bunch of changes made. I'm all for it.
  15. Link to the article please? I call BS. Doesn't sound like something a player or manager would say. After the game Hill was asked about it from the fox people he just said it's unfortunate.
  16. ::Standing silent with back faced toward the Cubs:: My uncle, who is a Cardinals fan, said he thinks the Cubs will take tommorows game, with Zambrano going. So if you need some hope. There ya go!!
  17. That would be terrible. Thome was a Cubs fan growing up and a classy guy. Now THAT would be classless. If you're going to have one of your crap pitchers hit someone, have them hit Pearzitski or Ozzie. Yeah have him throw it in the dugout and say it was a wild pitch. .
  18. We don't actually disagree. I was only defending him on the two specific points I made. Everything you said is true. Oh ok, I was just so ticked about today's game and loosing the way we have been, I needed to vent about Hendry anyway.
  19. I think one of the overlooked problems is Pierre. Look I thought it was a good move. I mean it was a huge OBP boost over Correy Patterson. Now Pierre is hitting like .209 with .270 OBP or something like that? If he was actually performing to carreer norms we might be a few games higher in the standings.
  20. Hendry has relied on Prior and Wood too long. It's his fault all $95 mil of the team is not on the feild (barring Derreck Lee). . It's also his fault Dusty is the Manager, and the orginazation value's "aggressiveness" at the plate over patience, and "catching the ball" over OBP. It's his fault alot of the players on our team have sucky OBP. And his fault that this team falls apart when a key member goes down for 2 months. You seriously think a team like the Braves and Cards would be THIS FAR OUT? No they'd fight and stay around. It's also his fault for giving Perez and Rusch CRAZY money. Now we have a $3 mil pitcher that gives up 5 home runs and 9 earned runs every time he is on the mound and a $3 mil "backup" who is even more horrible this year than he was last. It's his fault for thinking Rusch and Williams were enough to hold the fort until Wood came back. And it's also his fault for not getting another SP when Prior started having problems. So to sum up. I totally disagree with you. Hendry sucks, and I realize that now. I actually used to be a Hendry supporter. But 3 years in a row of Cubs choking under his leadership has made me bitter. .
  21. Maybe Barret should hit Dusty. (Not because of what happened, but because Dusty sucks, and I hate Dusty, and I want him to leave Chicago). . Please Barret? Hit Baker? Make Darren cry.
  22. All I heard him say was he didn't see anything, everybody was in the way (typical dusty excuses). . Am I remembering wrong, what did Dusty actually say?
  23. It's sad the only thing to look foward to is hoping Ozzie or some other Sox player gets hit by a Cub (Ozzie is keeping AJ out of the line-up tommorow I heard). I thought the Sox were teased as being the "Trailer Trash" fans?
  24. I think Dusty really has them beleiving the opposing pitchers are just having "great games".
  25. Jonest runs backwards on the bases during a solo homerun. . TWICE!!
