  1. Kabgillion is more than a zillion. But just to be on the safe side, I'd offer 20 gagbzillion.
  2. Oh common, you know you'd like to see this at Wrigley Feild. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkqly-uGPX0
  3. Are you my long lost twin or something? Because I've said the exact same things.
  4. Good for him. Now they can trade Ichiro for Jones. Well played.
  5. 20 years, 20 KABGillion dollars!
  6. Here Here (or is it Hear Hear!?!). The discussion of the cubs being sold is a good one. And I'll have at it any day! maybe it's "hear, here" The thought of the Cubs being sold seems like a good one, but we all know the pendulum swings both ways. We could get a group (or individual) worse than the trib. . . . . Here Hear!! Worse than the Trib, please do not say that!!
  7. Pick one. Just don't follow the strive for mediocrity and sooner or later you'll catch lighting approach of the MacPhail era. I'd set a flexible payroll budget. Flexible in the sense that you spend AFTER developing young players when you've got a foundation and a real shot at winning the thing. The Cubs could spend $70 mil, $90 mil., and $120 mil. over the next three years and win the thing, and spend less than the $100 mil., $105 mil., $110 mil. they're likely to spend. The Marlins, Diamondbacks, Braves, Dodgers, and Mets have all bumped payrolls during contending periods and reduced payroll during rebuilding periods. CFP I wouldn't say "pick one". Infact you do BOTH!! IE you smartly use both assets. An example would be Playing Theroit at SS, Pie in CF. And get rid of jones and sign or trade for a big bopper at RF and 2B. You smartly use your money. But an increase in payroll is never a bad thing. If you use the money wisely, you'll win. I'd like a raised payroll. It can never hurt.

  9. Hi Len, Big fan of you and Bob. 1)What do you think of the changes that have happened so far this offseason, and what do you think the plans should be for the Cubs over the next couple of seasons? 2)Has your partner Bob Brenly expressed interest in managing for the Cubs, and what type of manager do you think he would be for us if he were chosen? I know he has expressed his love for Matt Murton and the importance of OBP. And I like that.
  10. That usually happens when you mention Mark Grace. :D
  11. I'll be rooting for the Tigers ofcourse. If any AL team wins I would hope it would be the Tigers or Twins. If an NL team wins I would hope it would be the Dodgers. .
  12. If you stream it online, you could use a program like audacity to record it for future listening. Or you could ask WGN Radio to make it available as a podcast, as they often do, but the chances of you getting a definite answer on that before the broadcast may be slim. I don't want to take a chance of them making it a podcast. So thanks for the audacity info.
  13. No, you can't assure us of that. That's the nature of anonymous internet postings. If you don't believe it than take it for what it is worth, all I can do is tell you what I heard from someone with knowledge of the situation. Now if the Cubs get sold sometime before next season, then my source was right. Right. And you get to be known as the guy who knows that higher up int he trib. Hey remember mjuedes, he's that guy that knows a trib exec. Look, your words fully expose your intention. You're taking a shot at being right so we can all beleive your this guy with an incredible source. Thats right because I do know a higher up at the Trib. and I happen to have lived with his son for 4 years now. If you don't believe me on this thats fine, I am simply trying to provide the board with information that I heard from someone. I am not going to be offended if you don't believe me, I would be skeptical too, but I am going to sleep fine tonight I know I am telling the truth whether or not you believe it is up to you And I choose not to. Perfectly fine with me, but when they get sold before the season begins I will make a point of calling you out for not beleiveing and you can do the same in return if they are still part of the Tribune by opening day 2007. I'm not saying the Cubs won't be sold. Infact I think it is possible. I'm just saying I don't beleive you. And I still won't beleive you even if the Cubs get sold. Because like I said, these "rumors" about someone knowing someone high up are never true.
  14. It sounds to me that he was implying that Girardi was not good at collaborating with the rest of the baseball people in the Marlins organization. I'm not sure that is the type of person who would make a good choice. I'm also certain that these issues will likely keep Hendry from pursuing Girardi. God if that's the case we better hope Brenly gets the job. I'm sure we all don't want "sweet lou". .

  16. Yikes, anyone know a way to record this aside from tapes? I'd like to record this for later listening on a long trip I am taking. . Will there be an intersection between Girardi and McDonough or will they move from one straight to the other I wonder? Hey don't quote me unless you tell me how to do it!! :D
  17. No, you can't assure us of that. That's the nature of anonymous internet postings. But I'm a 15 year old girl with big boobs looking to experiment. It's bogus. A top 5 at the Trib. wouldn't even tell their own son with this type of information. When you are that high up you have a responsibility to keep your mouth shut. You don't mix family and business. Espically with this kind of information. Good point. Your turn mjuedes. What you guys are confusing is the speculation part with fact. I never said that the deal was 99.9% completed, I said HE was 99.9% sure the Tribune would spin off the Cubs before the start of the 2007 season. And that is absolutely not true about mixing business and family, my family used to own a business and I know plenty of stuff that the public doesn't know that went on there. The fact that Tribune wants to sell off many parts of their company makes this a very plausible speculation by my source. He has nothing to gain from the sale of the company, he wouldn't be able to sell his stock there are laws against it. And how many of those people who family "owns" stuff signs up to an internet board to spill the beans on a move to a community he has never even been a part of.

  20. What are you wearing? HAHA HA HAHAHAHAHA!! Ok, that was funny. http://209.85.48.8/2643/156/emo/mamoru.gif
  21. If your housemate's father was really that high up. I think he would have told you it's smart to not go on messege boards and give inside information. I therefore conclude you are just a new poster posting bogus information to get attention. And since when does a higher up's son need a housemate? Their stinkin rich!! Sorry nothing against you, but you do not have a long history of posting rumors which turned out to be true.
  22. Yesterday, Hendry said that Dusty and he never really disagreed on personnel so I think Hendry likes these types of players too. Right. But Girardi or Brenly aren't going to ask Hendry to go out and get those types of players. so. . . . .?
  23. I've always been a fan of Stone but his act got a little too annoying for me. I consider him a very good analyst. What's his "act" BTW? Besides entertaining?
  24. where did you hear this? Just search baseball disccusions. It's there. Tune in at 7:00 p.m.!!
