  1. Why is that? Why would someone who's employed for another team have a better handle on Prior's makeup than any Cub fan who follows the team closely? This is ridiculous. If anything, Prior's taking the high road in not trying to make himself more important than anyone else who got sent down with the "employee" comment. I can't believe how many people are jumping him for this. I just wish he wouldn't have used the "I'm an employee" line. If he would have said something like "This is what is best for the team right now and I understand, BUT i'm going to do my best to make sure this is not permanent." It is clear he was just trying to be the good soldier, I just think that line shows a lack of desire. I know most people where I work say I'm just an employee there is nothing I can do because they are lazy and don't care. Wow that's a mouthfull. I'm sorry he didn't say EXACTLY what you wanted him to say, to make you feel better about what YOU think he meant.
  2. They said they'll beable to do it. But it will take the "engineers" 12-48 hours. LOL. So I'll create a new ID and IM you. Hopefully we can work it this way. .
  3. What about those comments make him soft? Did you hear him accepting responsibliity and saying that he has more work to do to get where he needs to be? No, he was trying to make a veiled point with his repeated use of the word "employee". What has he shown you in the past almost half decade to make you think that he has an ounce of mental toughness? How about actually going back on the mound after getting a 100MPH screaming line drive STRAIGHT to his right elbow. Seriously some people go waaay overboard with this "prior mental toughness" stuff. .
  4. Off topic, but who is that in your avatar these days? You don't want to know.
  5. We should have ST at Vicksburg, MS, and New Orleans, LA.
  6. What good is getting "his fire back" gonna do when his curve doesn't break and his fastball is too slow? This is getting ridiculous.... His curve does seem to be breaking a little, and he is slowly gaining velocity on his FB. So what's so bad about also wanting some passion and anger in Prior to use in a positive way?
  7. Abe your arguing that Defense is more important than 10% (and I agree) however you are giving an example of a SS blunder that "cost" the team, yet in your arguement, the man who did it was a GOOD defensive SS. So infact, GOOD defense, LOST them that game. . 8-)
  8. season almost started, oh boy oh boy oh boy.
  9. ^I'll be up for that, if this doesn't work out for me tommorow. .
  10. I think pat has it in his contract he can exit the 7th inning for a snack, and bathroom break. And he just uses it every game. I don't know.
  11. I think Miller is gonna do well. I'm gonna say 6 innings, 2 runs, 5 SO. He pitches with confidence and really fools alot of hitters out there.
  12. Hopefully he's got a good voice. We will have to hear it every pre-game and post-game show. And half of the 7th inning too. .
  13. YES! Good luck to Guzman this year. Piniella is certainly the type of "teacher" that young men with alot of talent could thrive under. I look foward to seeing how it goes for him, this year. .
  14. What I got from AZ Phil was that Alfonso Soriano's defense in CF is going to make us miss Juan Pierre. Yeesh. And Cliff Floyd's probably should be DHing in the AL. He would have to be pretty bad to make up for the major increase in offensive production. The Cliff Floyd thing really is a concern though. No doubt, his bat will make more than make up for it. But his D is going to be brutal. He could get alot better. My hopeful scenerio is that Pie is just hitting the cover off the darn ball at AAA and by mid season, or around then, he is called up. And Soriano moves to RF and Pie plays CF. .
  15. Gonna have to try again tommorow. Over an hour of waiting and talking, and finally I was cut off as I was supposed to be transfered "to the next level of support". .
  16. I am currently calling them. 20 minutes devoted so far to waiting and talking. . sheesh. .
  17. Looks like I'm not the only one. Could be a good, 2nd half, boost. .
  18. FIELDING E: Soriano (3, fielding), Floyd 2 (3, throw, fielding), Theriot (4, fielding). What, that many? 10 Errors?
  19. Yeah, he really needs to work on that.
  20. There's no way to know if Murton's performance was a coincidence or if Lou's talk helped his hitting, but it is nice to see that Lou is hands on with the players. It's up to the players to play the game dude. That's not my department. .
  21. common mark. Be good at baseball. .
  22. We have the best damn fans in MLB. Proof? We still go to games! I think the Cubs have the Pirates beat on the "fans who go out to the game when they suck" front, no offense. Yeah, last year proved that I think. Well, and that we sucked, too. :)
  23. haha. Love your new sig. Keep it. Thanks. Earth 2 Sean gave me the idea. That was so funny Piniella cried tears of laughter. .
  24. I'm going to call Yahoo tommorow, they left a phone # at that webpage, so I can call them on my cell phone and get them to help me. There's gotta be something they can do to help me keep my old UN. Because I had it, BEFORE I signed up to SBC a long, long time ago.
  25. I am JUMPING right in on this one. I've heard what he has done for the A's and I think he can do it for the Cubs. I love the guy to be honest with ya. Already I am seeing an improvement in Ronny Cedeno (I think to myself, who the HECK IS this guy at the plate!?!?!?) and if Izturis can take more walks then he isn't such a liability at the plate afterall. But I think it's also Lou that is helping a bit too. The combo of Perry and Piniella is STELLAR for teaching good baseball. .
