If you go to Wainwrights twitter it says ".... Husband, daddy, outdoor lovin, sweet tea drinkin, Chick-fil-A eatin...". Isn't Chick-fil-A eatin just another way to say I hate me some gays? Pretty much. Surprised he didn't fit in "Duck Dynasty-watchin'," too. -
That's surprising; I would have figured you had read somewhere that aging curve for starting pitchers ended at, like, 22.

For a team filled with swell young gents, Lester really seems to stick out as a crotchety, unlikable douche. No doubt that's due in large part to frustration over how his season has gone, but I still have the sneaking suspicion he probably is into something real evil, like spitting on filthy street urchins or something.

There will be belly fire after a couple of obnoxious losses just before facing the loathsome Cardinals, so I expect a Cubs-delivered slaughter of epic proportions. TBFIB will only be allowed to clap each time one of their own is sacrificed to Kali atop the dugout. They still stagger out drunk upon the blood of the slain, and they will all crash into each other over and over and over again.

That's probably the best way to put it; people respond to nonsense rantings by meatballs who think he's a baseball cancer and that gets spun as people being "Castro lovers" or in denial or now "downplaying" his faults. How about it's just expecting people to not lose their damn minds every week over an average baseball player? And this hits on the heart of it: this isn't about accurately describing Castro (the guy half a win below replacement being described as "average."). It is about digging heels into the ground against meatballs. Yes, exactly. And ultimately not giving a poop about your semantically nitpicking cries for attention.

I know. I'm saying the chances of Castro being not useful are being downplayed. AKA "[expletive], people are hoping that he continues to improve and I need to stomp all over that [expletive]." Nobody's ignoring 2013 or his bad May.

Who is saying that it is? The post immediately above that one, in which believing Castro would bounce back in the second half was described as "reasonably obvious." Yeah, it's painfully clear he's talking about how given his numbers this June and his previous track record it's "reasonably obvious" he's going to bounce back from being horrible. For [expletive]'s sake, Kyle.

For the billionth time: NOBODY IS SAYING HE'S HAVING A GOOD YEAR. These discussions get going thanks to histrionics where people start ranting like he's some kind of team-crippling anchor that needs to be dealt with. The Cubs don't have any better options to play instead of him right now, and benching him or sending him down accomplishes nothing except placating meatballs. After a horrendous May he's playing around replacement level, so what exactly is the point of repeatedly bemoaning the existence of Starlin Castro like he's sabotaging the Cubs from within?
