  1. Put another way, he has a .94 ERA since spring That's what he... Wha?
  2. not that i'm defending the decision, but joe said he's the most well conditioned athlete he's ever been around. he really doesn't look like he ever labors and so i'm sure there is truth behind this mentality, but it doesn't seem like it's necessary. Yeah but I'm not worried about him being gassed physically, I'm worried about his arm falling off. Can conditioning prevent that? (Serious question) No, it can't. Some guys can just pitch like this. Arrieta has shown nothing this season (or last season) to indicate his usage is problematic. The guy is rarely laboring when he's out there pitching; why are you so terrified he's going to break down?

And Mark Prior had perfect mechanics. This decision was [expletive]. Mark Prior got fucked up by a shitty Achilles, getting clobbered on the basepaths and taking a linedrive off of the elbow. Yeah, Dusty sucked and WAY overused him (in his ROOKIE season; Jake's been around), but the narrative has mutated to the point that people talk like overuse and mismanaging is basically all that destroyed him.
  4. He's not laboring. Like, at all. You don't simply take a pitcher out because he hits a certain number; I trust the manager and coaches to know what to look for. If he's fine, then let him get his 20th win with a baller complete game shutout in only 120 pitches.
  5. So many of you are the worrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrst.
  6. I actually was mentioning that in saying that you'd need to trade both of them in different deals and I'm not sure Soler's trade value is where it should be based on his talent level. To me, Schwarber and Soler is way too much for Stanton. Oh, yeah, I'm not saying it just be only those three players involved in such a deal. That would be bonkers.
  7. No pitcher is worthy. Also: [expletive] pitchers.
  8. ...it'll be great watching them both in the lineup at SS and 3B respectively? So Bryant moves to the OF. Is Schwarber now a C-only guy? Or is he still in the mix? What about Soler? They are awesome problems to have but decisions will definitely need to be made this offseason. I kinda want to trade Schwarber. And it has nothing to do with him being a little cold right now. I don't think him being in the OF is the best option long term, and I'm kinda bummed that if he's a catcher it means you automatically get him in the lineup significantly less than if he were playing another position. I guess I'm just not opposed to the idea of trading him for something insane. And it would have to be something insane to justify it in the first place. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut, if he was the centerpiece in a deal to net someone like Stanton? Schwarber as a main piece in a deal for Brantley and Kluber?? That's insane and I agree, it needs to be something insane Oh, no doubt. This would be game for game.

Not that I'm I'm saying it comes to a decision between Soler and Stanton (of course it wouldn't), but then you also have to factor in Soler's value and what you can get for him. Again, not saying I'm shooting down the possibility altogether or anything, just that it's complex. Luckily I feel like Theo et al. is the perfect group to figure all of this out /Brett Yeah, that's the pairing I was thinking of; though I don't know enough about what Stanton is going through with that hand of his to know if that would be too risky. I thought he was only supposed to be out through, like, July, but he still hasn't come back and is dealing with complications from scar tissue. But man, he was just obscene before he went down.

  12. prior was like this too straight up pitching cyborg in 2003 Yeah, I didn't want to say anything, but that's really what it feels like. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, why did I just go look at Prior's stats again. http://38.media.tumblr.com/cdcfd9919a06c3f19153959a804010a0/tumblr_mnya1pohyy1rvhjgto1_250.gif

  14. I mean, at some point Arrieta has to have another bad outing, right? Or at least a shaky one. Is he a cyborg? Did he make a deal with the devil?
  15. Complain about THAT at your tight ass Cardinals country club, ya freak ass bitch.
  16. not hating, but just so you know, it was the bloopiest bloop that ever blooped. just thought it was funny given your post. He also didn't run out of the box and should have had a double He, look: yet another AR post complaining about the Cubs. Weird.
  17. not hating, but just so you know, it was the bloopiest bloop that ever blooped. just thought it was funny given your post. And his second double last night was the bloopiest bloop double that ever bloop doubled; when you're awesome good things happen, baby.
  18. Don't worry, ARCubs and rondon will be here the second something bad happens. Kinda shocked they didn't show up after that javy play actually. I'm right here, this game is a snoozefest The game that's been played for two whole innings? Please end this ridiculous charade.
  19. Don't worry, ARCubs and rondon will be here the second something bad happens. Kinda shocked they didn't show up after that javy play actually. Look at AR and Ski lurking, not daring to say anything positive.
  20. Look how dead this place is! I hope Baez crushes it and none of you get to see!
  21. Oh, another Castro hit, ho-hum, doo-doo-doooo.
