  1. GO GLAVINE. DETHRONE THE CHEATER.
  2. #TheBullsWay Who were you expecting/hoping they'd add?
  3. There's almost nothing to sell. Plus football doesn't work that way.
  4. Herrera has completely justified his roster spot with all of his antics.
  5. When they were hauling him off the field I wanted some version of this to happen so very badly:
  6. That whole picture looks weird, like it's an Onion Photoshop job or something
  7. Horseshoe still way up the Cardinals asses You're still bragging about it.
  8. I'm totally cool with making the 3rd starter some kind of Frankenstein monster made up of pitchers. i'm inclined to agree with you, finally. but after tonight i'd rather give hendricks with ball and just give him a SHORT leash. no harm in that, right? That's pretty much the same thing as a Frankenstein monster made up of pitchers. That's what I was thinking; expect/hope Hendricks can go 3-4 innings, then Cahill and Wood and all the rest. Hell, have Hammel standing by if necessary.

  10. probably drunk he got knocked unconscious and was just carted off the field He's lucky that nobody from St. Louis is driving it.
  11. Sure, that's the logical, measured response to take at this point in the game. You never let us down.
  12. But they're going to eliminate both so THIS WHOLE THREAD IS REDUNDANT.
  13. I like how you break it down like this like that's supposed to mean anything.
  14. That too. It always cracks me up how often pitchers start games with their forearms all shiny like they're drenched in sweat. They rub in that lotion just enough so it's not obviously smeared all over their skin.
  15. If it's pine tar then they don't give a [expletive].
  16. Even though I knew it was coming, the sheer amount of hot taking here in the DC-area over this is just insane. I've heard multiple callers gripe about how Harper "disappeared when they started to struggle" or how he "pulled an ARod and was only good when it didn't matter. OK, so August was his worst month this year. He hit .327 .460 .449 .909. September? His second best month at .370 .509 .827 1.336 with 10 HR. He's been demolishing opponents when they've NEEDED IT THE MOST. I really, really hope this ends up pushing him away from DC.
  17. OK, so 3 tries.
  18. Two tries.
  19. Yup. Probably dirt mixed with everything else he can get away with:
  20. I'm more offended at his unbent brim. I also love how TT stubbornly refuses to remove the question mark from the thread title.
  21. I didn't even think about that; I'd still rather face the Pirates to get rid of the tougher opponent, but the idea of crushing the Cardinals in such a humbling scenario after they all but cruised in to win the division, AND to do it in front of TBFiB, would be pretty sweet. i mean either scenario is going to be great. arrieta will vanquish whoever it is. You mean either scenario of beating the Cardinals? Because while I obviously want the Cubs to beat the Pirates, I can't say I really care about how they do it outside of what I think is best for the Cubs "strategically" as opposed to how I would prefer the Cardinals to lose in the most humiliating fashion possible.
  22. Did Papelbon kill Harper? Hahahahahaah! I get your point but without Harper the Nats would just suck more. Without Jake, would the Cubs be anywhere near the playoffs? Both are relative to how well their teams do; it's not Harper's fault his team fell apart around him while he's put up a .370 .509 .827 1.336 line in September. Who would you have rather had on the Cubs this season, Jake Arrieta or Bryce Harper? I take Harper without even thinking about it. That kind of god mode-level offense in your lineup nearly every day goes a LONG way to make up for the starting rotation missing Arrieta every 5th.
