  1. Well, Cedeno did have a stretch where he was tearing up ML pitching, similar to Fontenot.
  2. Agreed, keep Riot as short. Not a problem. He seems to be a tiny man for good.
  3. I don't see why not. I wouldn't even say it's an outside chance. It's a pretty decent chance. If he's called up Thurs, there's no reason he couldn't be called in to a game on Friday. Especially since he wouldnt have thrown since Tues, Id say there is a real good chance. Imagine that, Wood relieving Zambrano wow I just might tear up.
  4. The Barrett incident certainly was part of the reason for the talk, but your "and nothing else" assertion is definitely wrong. His crappy start to the season definitely had something to do with it. There were people advocating trading Zambrano even before the incident. The talk increased after the incident, but it started before then. I know. I was responding sarcastically to the people gloating as if any ideas to trade Zambrano weren't thought out and were all based on emotion.
  5. Are you serious? They didn't do all that well in the latest series against the Cubs, therefore they're no good and not worth trading for? Wow.
  6. :-k Sac fl(ies)y and a home run (grand slam?)? He didn't score, so no HR. 2 Sac flies and a 3-run double. Dammit, I missed the obvious. Baseball is a funny game.
  7. Poor guy is due. Pardon my ignorance, but if I have tickets to this Friday's game, does this mean there's an outside chance I could see Kerry pitch?
  8. Some loudmouth jerk.
  9. :-k Sac fl(ies)y and a home run (grand slam?)?
  10. Are you taking a dump in the airport with the door unlocked or open? How the hell does he take a peak in, and why would he do that. Does he not see your feet? Adam Dunn goes wherever the hell he wants, when he wants. It's his world, and we just cower in it.
  11. Yeah, nobody possibly had any potentially legit and thought reasons to trade Zambrano at the time. It was all kneejerk hyperbole. Boy, you guys sure have everyone covered. All the trade ideas had to do with him fighting Barrett and nothing else.
  12. "Jesus, Tom! I was only speculatin' on a hypothesis!"
  13. YES! Thanks, Cards!
  14. I can't believe I'm rooting for Pujols.
  15. I guess if it's true then it helps explain why Murton is here but basically riding the pine...he can just walk over to the other dugout after the game is over. At least that's what I want to tell myself when it looks like he's not getting the start yet again today.
  16. OK, I expected Dunn and Griffey to be trouble...but Conine? Bastard.
  17. I think most anyone that did even a little research into him would realize he's streaky...the problem is that this team's lack of power overall makes his inevitable slumps that much more of a problem, plus his lackluster and "head in the clouds" defense lately is just mkaing it that much more frustrating.
  18. I'd assume we'd lose, but knowing how [expletive] things are in Cubs' land we'll probably trounce a hot hurler like Haaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrghang.
  19. Slumpiano now batting .195 over the past 10 games. Beyond being cold at the plate, his approach in the field is really noticeably lackluster and costing the Cubs key outs and runs. It's like he's sometimes forgetting there's a game going on as he trots towards the ball on the ground.
  20. Damn, that is a rough, rough loss. It's one like this that good teams are able to fight back from, so hopefully the Cubs won't just roll over and go into a funk.
  21. I'm praying for ya, Kerry. This is the big test.
  22. Soriano has repeatedly looked apathetic out in LF. It's called "heads up baseball," pal. Still think you don't need to do much by the deadline, Hendry? Oh, but nevermind, we're just overreacting...nevermind we saw a month and a half of this baseball already. What, only the good stuff counts?
  23. *Grunts* Don't tell me the offense two nights ago was the exception over the last few games.
  24. That faux-home run call was downright Chip-esque.
