  1. Is it really that bad watching WGN. Yeah, HD is nice, but it's not like we have trouble seeing things on WGN.
  2. Welcome back, awesome Cubs. Lilly brings out the best in their bats. They've scored 40+ runs in his last 6 starts, including tonight.
  3. A natural SS would make that play, amirite? NO my point was that you have to be very tall to snare that ball Or have mad hops like Cedeno.
  4. TAKE THAT, YOU SCRAPPY LITTLE SACK OF GRIT.
  5. Hah! Bob slamming Edmonds for all his fielding melodrama.
  6. Nice comeback for Theriot on that throw and a great giant stretch by the giant DLee.
  7. Man, Soriano is cooler than being cool... ICE COLD.
  8. I read the book first...thankfully. Much more intriguing and told the story of NYC in the summer of 77 in a rich way. I'm curious to read the book since all the subject matter is stuff I find interesting...it's just portrayed so clumsily and hamfisted in the TV series. I think I enjoy the brief interviews with the real life people at the end more than anything else.
  9. So should we throw a 65-year-old out there that's had "experience down the stretch?" Stick a fork in him.
  10. If we're stuck with him, hopefully last night proved to the right people that Hill needs to catch Z. They've clearly got a "thing" going on the field.
  11. "LILLY! Watch me me play ball!" http://www.conelrad.com/mutatedtelevision/images/herman_leo_1.gif
  12. Can I pile on and talk about how freakin' bad The Bronx Is Burning is? Someof the individual performances are OK, but as a whole it's a complete mess. The Son of Sam stuff has nothing to do with anything except it happened in the city at roughly the same time...no effort is made to link it even just emotionally or symbolically to the stuff going on with the Yankees. It's just, "hey, here's the Yankees fighting yet again...and here's a guy shooting people in the head. YOU DO THE MATH." The Dugout summed it up perfectly: http://dugout.progressiveboink.com/archive/jon128.html
  13. Soriano apparently forgot he was playing baseball tonight, on the field and at the plate.
  14. Soriano looked like he could not have cared less on that play. Oh God.
  15. STUPID SCRAPPY WHITE GUYS. OK, 3rd out must come right here. If we see Pujols, we're doomed.
