in one statistic (albeit an important one) How 'bout 6 of 14 in BA okay so now we're delving into the unimportant statistics. Shall we head along to stolen bases? I already did, in terms of unimportant, Henderson waves hello Did you just compare the Riot to Rickey Henderson? No i said SB was important. They're much less important now than they were in Ricky's heyday. The game is much more reliant on power now to advance and score runners. Because we all know the Cubs are leading the league in HR  "Power" doesn't only mean home runs. And I'm not saying that stolen bases can't help the team from time time...you were stating that "SB are important" in terms of baseball in general, and they're not as important as they were when guys like Ricky were playing. Stolen bases should not be the major driving factor for a player to be signed/traded for/drafted/assigned playing time/etc..
Scoring estimates? Seriously, unless Marquis pulls out a miracle like he did in the series with the Brewers, we're likely getting absolutely murdered tonight, even if the bats switch back on. I say Cubs lose, 9-5.

I like. It's sad that we do have in house solutions for 3 of our 4 holes, but Soto, Murton and Pie won't get any regular time for some reason. No kidding. For the first time in forever we HAVE the solution to some of our problems and we're letting them waste away on the bench/in AAA Which is why I wouldn't be so frustrated with the idea of staying/standing pat if they showed even just an iota of interest in playing those guys.
Meeting on the mound: "Can you believe these guys are pinch hitting with CEDENO?!?" "Yeah, it's hilarious...anyone talk to Sutcliffe about where we can go and get some play after the game?"
Murton strikes out swinging, but the breeze from that swing will spread to the Atalantic ocean and will gently push ashore a sinking ship filled with Peace Corp volunteers.
