  3. Why the hell would they have done that?
  4. Shaking hands in the dugout.
  5. The Cubs will score more and win; you will choke on your own bile.
  6. Yeah, I still can't get over how goofy Rizzo's stance looks.
  7. im rolling with your interpretation Yuuuup. Part of it is me thinking the Braves fucked themselves with the leaks. Once it got out that they were going to give up Delgado for Dempster, why the hell would a team trading someone like Greinke not demand an even better package?
  8. Seems like everyone here is dealing with extremes and ignoring the huge, creamy, delicious middle.
  9. According to Fangraphs he's been worth about $13.5 million thus far. Take that as you will. Fangraphs also has him as providing the 5th most defensive value in all of baseball (3rd most on a rate basis). He's certainly improved and was always underrated defensively to begin with, but that much? Given his tools and the coaching, sure.
  10. According to Fangraphs he's been worth about $13.5 million thus far. Take that as you will.
  11. He's pretty bad this year; he was even worse in 2010, plus 2009 was a noticeable decline from the previous years as well. There's definitely concerns. Don't get me wrong, I can easily see why teams would want to get him, but I don't think he's a lock as a front end guy.
  12. Yeah, he's not going to net much and the Cubs actually need him.
  13. Pretty much. If guys in the minors keep progressing and the FO is confident it makes Stewart redundant, great. If they end up holding on to him just to give the prospects more time and because the 3B market sucks and they want to see what he can do, works for me.
  14. To be fair, Pierre is actually useful this year and if they don't have to give up much could be a decent pick-up since he's only signed through this season.
  15. Rozner was saying a lot of dumb things about other sports too. I like Mulley and Hanley, but man, the fill in hosts often leave much to be desired on that show. Yesterday he was gloating that Aramis is only hitting well now that the Brewers are out of it, "just like he's always done." The glee in his voice was just so punchable. Yes, Aramis starts slow and usually doesn't have an impressive April. Yes, he's on his hottest streak right now. You know what else he did this year? Hit .274 .364 .484 .848 in May. And .295 .374 .523 .896 in June. Yet here you have this asshat talking like he's been a bust until about 2 weeks ago.
  16. I get that you prefer natural food, but it's faulty to deem anything not natural as being automatically bad for people.
  17. Why not? That makes it sound like anything artificial is bad for us. Me, I'd love it if we could get to a Jetsons era of just eating food pills.
  18. Why does this thread keep popping to the top of the list? Stewart hasn't played in a month and a half and he's not coming back any time soon. It's reasonable to think he'll never play for the Cubs again. Why, is he going to die?
  19. As already stated, the whole nickname thing is pretty redundant when your last name IS a nickname.
  20. What, "engineered" foods? Why? It's [expletive] awesome and future-y.
  21. This is hours late, but I had the misfortune of listening to the Score this morning, and there few things baseball-related more detestable than hearing Barry Rozner tear down Aramis Ramirez.
  22. Well, if we're including "over the centuries" then it seems to faulty to try and pin this down to a simplistic "booo, cities are killing us" theory since a major city like Chicago isn't the polluted cesspool it was before. Cities can evolve and change for the better environmentally and health-wise.
